If 60 fps is suddenly (we're talking about the "I don't see the difference" crowd) so important (how many AAA new releases actually delivered on that?) I guess it's time to seriously consider the jump to pc as main gaming platform.
Exclusive singleplayer games will always run at 30fps anyway, it's a win-win scenario.
I understand though that offering a 1080p/60fps mode would be great, but again, neither Sony nor Ms (or any developer for that matter aside from some exceptions) seem to care enough.
