Fucking $80 Canadian. I want to say yes but I just can't. But it looks soo gooood
Wasted an hour last night trying to figure out what the issue was and as a last resort switched to my US account. Couldn't believe it. Strangely on my US account it shows all the different wheels, fanatec, thrustmaster etc under the control presets, none of that shows up when on my UK account. I tried switching back and forth accounts mid game in the hope something would work but alas it's just dead on my main UK account. The games still great with a controller though and hopefully this is just a little bug that can be patched really soon.
That's bizarre, never heard anything like that before, have you taken it up with Codies support?

Two people on Amazon answers (I asked the question last night) just told me that you can use gamepad motion for steering?

Sounds silly have you tried powering down everything and booting in to your UK account? Might be something sticking in the memory from the US side?
Annoying if the case especially with the UK price being so much more than US right now.

Was the wheel logged into your US account while DS4 was on UK account? Thats the only cause I can think of. Game works fine with T300 on my Finnish account, US version of the game.

Yes...but it will set you back like $800 if you are starting from scratch.

Xbox one P1 rim- $140(will work on ps4)
Fanatec base pedals- $80
Edit: Even then this wont work on all games because of the way the ps4 handles wheels. PCars, Dirt will work but DriveClub and probably wont because its not considered an official peripheral.
I've not tried powering everything down and yes my DS4 was logged into my PS4. I'll try those suggestions in a few hours when I get home. Do you think it could really be something as simple as my DS4 being logged in also, if it is I'll feel really stupid.

on your edit: They are still talking with Sony about that, I think. If you ask me, they'll drop that whole "officially licensed" crap soon, should DX12 support more wheels natively soon, which Turn10 seems to be working on (or at least they are working on wheel support on PC for "Xbox exclusives").

On that back cover they mention "6 massive rallies, over 70 stages"; how many unique tracks are there in this game, exactly? Variants/sections of 6 very long tracks? 12? 18?

12 long rally stages (2 per country) divided in smaller sections, 3 rallycross locations with variations, and 3 versions (dirt, mixed and full asphalt) of Pikes Peak.

I'm not assuming the discussion is going in the right direction between the 2 right now, but it's not over and there is pressure coming with their PS4.5 move and Xbox going "every game on PC as well and cross-buy".
A lot of PS4 gamers will consider to go to PC and telling people wanting to buy Gran Turismo Sport "that wheel you've used with third party racing games on PS4...? ...that's not an officially licensed product, son, and we can't allow you to play the new Gran Turismo with it" would look really bad on their side.

I'll be picking this up on Friday once I get home (hate work for dragging me away while this is out). Looking forward to it as it feels an age since I last played a really good Rally game.
Also good to here from you guys that the controls on pad seem good. Took me to long to find a useable setup on PCars, even though I am still not completely happy with it.
Quick questing. Have the developers said anything regarding future DLC? It would be good to hear if they plan to add futher Rally stages to the list later on.

Me neither. But time and weather variations can make things look fresh for a while. I have 191 hours spent in this game and I'm still not tired of it.
They said that they won't make DLCs for this game due to engine limitations (sounds like BS, but who knows), and that they'll shit focus to Dirt 4 from no on. Funny, cuz this is the first game that made me have the desire for paying for extra content, specially for tracks.

Nope, they look pretty damn good. I'm assuming you're probably talking of locations like in Wales where the weather is pretty cloudy so there isnt much sunlight. In that case, many games dont have good lighting models for situations like that, it isn't specific to DR.
The first event in the GAF PS4 league was brutal...it didn't help I went right into it with the Alpine...but after MANY restarts I put up an acceptably sub-par time.
Edit - For stage 1...I just realized there are 6 stages...
My 'going for it' time was 30 seconds worse than my 'just keep it on the road time'..lesson is, JUST KEEP IT ON THE ROAD until you are not terrible

Just so you're aware, you've set it up as a Steam league
Every league I've seen set up so far, has been set up in the wrong platform, there interface is bizarre how it defaults to steam even after linking to a PSN or XBL account.
Yup, completely unintiative, they should have made the platform a selectable option from the league menu.
It's incredibly confusing! Last night I was browsing the website fine on my XBL account, but when I switch from Steam to XBL now I'm sent back to the homepage :/

Thanks for letting me know. Thats sad to hear as this kind of game would benefit greatly with new course. Does indeed sound a bit fishy that its becase of engine limitations.
Also, love the typo. Shit focas and Dirt 4 really do belong in the same sentance. Really dislike the mainstream Dirt games.

There is a dropdown menu just below where you sign in, or where your profile dropdown is.
I think there's a bug on the website atm where it is defaulting everyone's platform to Steam. Not sure if you can specify a platform for a league, but I'm no expert!

Finished the first championship last night. Miller really helped me out by trashing his car in the 5th event, ha!
Seriously regretting not choosing the Alpine after looking at the leaderboards too
They really screwed the pooch on adding the Alpine to the 60's class. FWD cars simply cannot compete.
Needs a 60's RWD class badly with the Alpine.. (and Volvo Amazon, VW Beetle, Ford Cortina.. if only..)
I think you need to make it from scratch again, make sure you can see it from xb before sinking too much time into stages.
Anyone got any PS4 controller settings that work good. I messed with mine and feel OK with it (I forgot to write them down, now at work, but will post later with them).

yep, keeping it short and sweet for the first one. trying to make it somewhat beginner friendly. should be up soon.
Default is pretty much bang on, maybe make the steering a little more sensitive so you can chuck it into corners quicker.

So I tried the Ford Escort or "The Eternal Battle between the front and rear Axle"
I thought the Alpine would be a handful being rear engined rear wheel drive but having the weight up front on a higher HP RWD car is way worse. Even going in a straight line the rear is constantly trying to overtake the front.
In corners you really have to watch your slip angle, having the weight up front the car just wants to pivot and you better be quick to catch it.
All that said, Its still pretty fun, definitely keeps you on your toes. I wouldve won the stage I raced it on too if not for one track reset that totally screwed me over.
So Im getting the feeling that the higher HP cars are going to be unmanageable with the controller. How is it with the WRC cars for those of you who've unlocked them?
