Doctor Who 50th Anniversary |OT| Splendid Chap, All Of Them

whynotboth.gif, basically. The anniversary is the reason the episode is happening, but it's rare stuff stays spoiler-free until day of broadcast in this age so it'd be cool to have that mystery going into the screening.

You're totally right I just kinda hate that about modern life. There's this weird hierarchy where people who watch the episode early or know how to access it are treated as gods by some people, when really they're just making life shitty for those of us that want to stay spoiler-free. It's weird because in everyday life I'm THE most impatient person.

I was exaggerating a bit. Still just a shade out of character in my opinion, but it bothers me not nearly as much as it bothers the people it really bothers.
I see what you mean but I wouldn't say it's that out of character for the 11th Doctor in particular, lest we forget he kissed Rory in a similar situation of excitement.

Doesn't that means doors open at 7:30? I've never understood cinema tickets to be honest.

Typically UK cinema tickets have the start time 15 mins or so before the actual movie beings. Trailers, Adverts and allowing for people to be seated. At least that is what my Local Vue does.

7:45 will be the latest start for any episode of modern Who, and only the TV Movie would have started later throughout the show's whole history.

Gutted that they're up against The X Factor. This deserves as many viewers as possible.
The X Factor is not remotely the force it was. It's rating millions below Strictly, which will serve as Who's lead-in. It's going to be a crammed night of telly, but after Strictly is absolutely the best place for it. The Tennant & Piper factor coupled with the heavy promotion will carry it over- maybe not more than Strictly, but certainly more than The X Factor has been pulling this series.

The X-Factor is a bit of a shadow of what it used to be, but a clever cross promotion I could see working would be getting One Direction on it that week.

Would do nothing. The demographic that idolises One Direction will be watching X Factor over Who whatever the weather.

Funnily enough One Direction have made the 23rd One Direction day where they'll be having a live stream for most of the day, so they'll be watching that probably.

That's what I was thinking about, aren't they trying to claim the savetheday hashtag too?

I'm already wet.

Seeing 10 in new photos is just WEIRD.

edit: Note the scarf...

Scarf girl is (minor character identity spoiler)
a UNIT scientist, she was spotted on set with Kate Stewart
.

Tennant suit looks a bit weird in that one shot. Wonder if that one is the one that isn't an original. (They had one that was, and one that wasn't.)

Exciting pictures!

Someone on GB was at "An evening with Steven Moffat" earlier

Was at the event, the evening with steven moffat, and it was awesome and the trailer is so amazing seriously worth the wait! both of them!

i'd hate to spoil it all for you to be honest! Just wait seriously it's so worth it!

we got shown two trailers, one airing saturday and a longer trailer that moffat said he will personally upload and get online. Both are out of this world!

New DWM is out end of next week, cover should be revealed early next week:

Tom Spilsbury ‏@TomSpilsbury 5 Nov
@Reece24snippetZ Next week. Probably Monday. Sorry it's not sooner - but we need to keep it secret a little bit longer...

It's pretty flattened. His hair throughout his run hasn't been completely consistent.

Just another style to add to the 10th Doctor.

Honourable mention:
the_idiots_lantern_tennant.jpg

It's funny - those images remind me how much attention Tennant paid to his costume. He wears that suit different ways in every episode - different amounts of buttons done up or not, popped collars, not, etc etc. I remember hearing him explain about how much he and the costume designer agonized about making the suit look a little bit different in every episode in a DVD commentary. Funny little thing.

Also - the hair and Piper's outfit are the best thing about The Idiot's Lantern.
