Oh god. It's going to start tomorrow! So excited. Now I just mustn't mess up the time zones.
6pm UK Time is 7pm Central Europe right?

[edit]
Damn I just saw, that BBC HD isn't going to air the season premiere until next week! And we don't get BBC One HD.

What service are you on? You can add BBC One HD via the add/find channel feature on some services.

Don't forget that Karen Gillan comes on the Late Late Show tonight on CBS. Sometime after 11:00 pm CST I believe.

Actually CBS' website is no longer listing her as a guest for tonight. No idea what's up as of right now.

EDIT: Looks like she's listed again? Awesome!

I posted about that last page. It took her off as a guest tonight on the official site, but now it looks like she is back up.

WHOO HOO!

Been excited for this interview. The perfect storm for Craigy Ferg.
Hot woman? Check.
On Doctor Who? Check.
Scottish? Check.

I expect amazingness.

I have not seen any Who interviews on UK shows this week at all. Normally BBC does a lot to try and get the cast on a few talk show, but nothing (that I have seen anyway) this time. Maybe they sent everyone to the US to push the show over there this time. Is Matt Smith over there on anything? Is Karen on anything else?

...I will probably find a way to get all 350MBs of Craig Ferguson to check out Karen. :p

I'm disappointed a bit by the runup advertising too. Positive reviews all round, but like, normally a series of Doctor Who has a specially filmed trailer. Here, nuthin. Not many appearances, but there we go.

However.

I must warn you all that the official website has added 3 new wallpapers for episode 1.

They're /very/ spoilery.

Lame. Comcast still doesn't provide me with BBC America HD. Guess I'll just buy each episode off of Zune on XBL like I did for all of season 5.

Comcast gives me BBC:A HD, but puts it on a non-HD digital channel. I did discover a week or two ago, however, that the Season 5 episodes that are on-demand were in HD. So I'll watch in slightly blurry strech-o-vision for the premieres, then hope the on-demand lineup gets updated faster than last season.

I read somewhere that the Karen Gillan interview for Craig Ferguson tonight was taped the other week or so. Odd if true.

But this is an excuse to post a pic of the lovely Ms. Gillan.

I have to say, those catsuit shots are hideous. :<

I think it's because she's so pale. Light colours work better for her.

Wife and I are going through Season 5 in one long marathon today and tomorrow, ending in The Impossible Astronaut.

On the Beast Below. This episode's a lot better than I've given it credit for.

In fairness, I never gave it that much credit.

She looks good in this...

But as you mention, not great in darker colors...

Unlike a certain someone who looks great in any color =D

Yes, I just realized the other day my Comcast has BBCA again! Yes, yes, yes! I know this is weird, but Who got me through a very difficult point in my life. Been watching faithfully since the reboot and as much old Who as I could get my hands on.

Yes, Karen does look better in lighter colors. But I liked the form fitting nature of the cat suit. :)

Oh, and Karen>>>>Billie.

And she is definitely on Craigy Ferg tonight, they showed her on the screen for tonight's guests. This interview better be good dammit.

Moving on in our marathon: Victory of the Daleks is a fantastic episode, right up until the Skittles product placement starts. Though I would have liked an offhand mention of Jack Harkness after the Doctor heads off in the TARDIS without Amy. Something like, "It's hanging in the sky, according to Captain Harkness."

Edit: and Karen > Big Teeth Billie in the end of Season 4, but Sexy Billie in New Earth > Karen.

Really, in the end, Karen == Billie

No way! Bucktooth Billie > Karen.
Although, Karen's accent wins. As an American, the accents are what get me. So hot. Of course, that's probably to be expected because where I live the Larry the Cable guy is standard English.

Billie looked awful on the show every time. Odd features, lopsided face. Bleh. She looks like a normal woman in other circumstances but on the show... terribad.

Besides, the hottest new Who lass was Freema.

mmmm....Martha. Serious question. How do you UK guys not notice the accent? English, Scottish, Welsh - dem accents. I'd try to marry anything that moved if I lived in the UK.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I respect yours. Even though it's clearly wrong.

Also, I'm watching Craig Ferguson for Karen, and I've never seen the show before. My god, it's hilarious. Does he always have a TARDIS on his desk, though? Either way, I may have to watch more often.

He's always this hilarious, just so you know. Funniest show on TV, and definitely the funniest man on late night.

And yeah, he always has a TARDIS on his desk. He's a HUGE Who fan.

Freema Agyeman was indeed as hot as fuck. The problem I had with her was that Gugu Mbatha-Raw who played her sister, Tish, was a whole level hotter still. Dat ass.

GAF, where can I watch season 5 of Doctor Who? I've been patient and hoping it would show up on Netflix instant streaming, but it hasn't (the bastards have a season 5 image for the entire series, though). I also don't have BBC America :[

This is a show me and my sister watch together, so it seems my only option would be streaming... so does anyone know if it's coming to damn Netlix streaming any time soon? There's going to be a sixth series and I've yet to see the fifth! GAHHH.

Yeah I used to have the biggest thing for Billie when she was doing her singing gig long before Doctor Who, but she never did quite bring it on the show.

I need this episode to air right now, it feels like I've been waiting forever for the new Who!

Season 5 only starts today on BBC UK and BBC America today... (two episode this weekend, and 5 more for the following weeks, and then a break). I have no idea how Netflix works, but I am sure it would behind those two by a bit, so there is no point in checking there now.

Try iTunes in a few days for Episode 1 + 2?

edit - wait, I am messing up stuff... Season 6 starts today... Frang or Otter? I dunno

Check iTunes!

edit 2- Can you enable disc rentals? http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Doctor-Who-Season-5/70126508

EXCLUSIVE! SPOILERS!

I had an *exclusive* screening of tonight's Doctor Who episode overnight, in my head. It was a surprise: I'd been given no prior indication of being invited to said screening, but it was beamed directly into my skull in the small hours of the morning as I slept.

With this exclusive information, I can reveal the events that occur tonight.

Utah is remarkably verdant!

There is giant dam with the Statue of Liberty painted on it! Painted badly, I might add.

The Doctor is playing with model aeroplanes throughout the episode

Rory turns out to be a *remarkably* experienced Wet Infrastructure (that's water pipelines an' stuff, folks) engineer. He's been keeping *that* secret.

Amy is... pretty much nowhere to be seen. Maybe I was making a mental cup of tea whenever she was onscreen.

The cliffhanger (although not quite the ending, see below) is of the Doctor staring at the Dam. River Song runs up and points a gun at him! As he turns to look worriedly at her, behind him the model plane flies into the dam. Huge explosion!

Immediately before the end, a white sphere that looks something like an eye turns on, and we get a little pan through a strange - but familiar - laboratory complex. There is a readout for something named "Icarus" which is charging up.

I was left vaguely disappointed!

Don't Scare The Hare turns out to be the Best Gameshow Ever.

Okay, I made that last one up. But all the others were *really* in the episode I saw overnight.

Also - I presume we're going to go on the rule of spoilers from last series of "well it's been on the telly in the UK, it's no longer a spoiler?" - with the quick US/UK turnaround but still a gap it's inevitable someone's going to get upset from the US when they click here...

It's 6pm in the UK, 9pm in the US, isn't it? How long a gap is that, actually?

We could go with releasing spoiler rights as soon as it's aired in the UK, that'd at least be normal. Although I also think "Spoiler 'til Sunday" is quite a catchy name, and therefore superior.

Moffat should be on Graham Norton at some point in the next two hours on Radio 2.
