Seems like the climbing is back. I wonder how people will take that because it was very criticize in Eternal

I know people have been asking for a way to play as those giant mechs (so did i) and it wouldnt be a problem, but the way its executed looks unappealing, dragon especially looks janky as hell, ill probably end up wishing it got cut. Sounded way cooler on paper, at least the on-foot gameplay looks superb as always.

I felt the UI was overly obtrusive in Eternal, but it seem even more here, hope we can customize it without relying on mods, theres just so many unnecessary elements.

The Halo/Call of Duty direction comments from IGN are very concerning.

Dunno about this one boys. Feels like they've over-egged the pudding and added the kind of things that no one wanted in a DOOM game, and those new additions are boring.

Looking like 6/10 or 7/10 territory to me. Next DOOM will be a back to its roots reboot. Good that they tried something new but this ain't it.

I don’t need to see anything else, I was in from the first trailer lol. Though I love how all three games are different, which Hugo Martin stated was the goal; they didn’t want a repeat of anything.

I’m also excited to see how the lore and story expands from the codex entries, and is instead put into the cutscenes.

wayyyy too much screen flashing for me. flashes red, blue, green and it's constantly flashing. It also seems like DOOM guy is squishier than they said. In previous interviews they said he was more like a tank, but he def doesnt look like it.

Itll depend on your difficulty options, there will be a plenty of adjustments, ill just put damage to player on minimum because the "low health" UI effect covers 75% of the screen and looks annoying as shit.
Just look at this:

For a studio that good, they have some of the worst UI ive ever seen (and that counts F2P mobile games)

Mecha and dargon are both so out of place and honestly quite unpolished. Even Shogo felt better scale-wise.

Action itself? Honestly, we need to actually play for a few hours. While I loved Eternal, I'm not a huge fan of Martin's obsession of meleeing DOOM's combat system. I want meaty shotgun with enough ammo, not another sword or shield gimmick from Warhammer 40k.

Music also sucks, but it was already known after the scandal with Gordon. Trailer house instead of a prolific game score author is always not a good choice for that sort of work.

But alas, I will be happy to be proven wrong on the game's release.

This does give me a lot of feelings of the classic games, in how more slow and methodical it is, how it’s focused more on projectile management and positioning this time around, rather than blitzing across the map like the brilliant Doom Eternal.

I like this, as such will make TDA stand out from its two other predecessors, just like how Eternal stood out heavily from 2016 as its own thing. However, I do believe you’ll be able to crank up the speed and pace of the game via the slider system, and of course pro DOOM players will be flying around the game in no time.

Color me massively excited. The fact that we’re getting a giant new DOOM game in May is absolutely nuts.

I don't know what it is, but something just isn't clicking for me here when watching these videos. I'm a big fan of Doom and Eternal is one of my favourite shooters of all time, but something about this seems off. I think I may wait on proper impressions from actual players on release.
Something isn't grabbing me either in all honesty

Looks fun for a few minutes but not sure I could play it for very long at any stretch

Will also wait for the non sponsored impressions

I dont like much the flying sections, they look very basic and seem like they kill the pacing of the game. I hope I am wrong tho but it does not look great compared to the combat sections

Just by watching a few of the video's I can tell this is nothing like Halo or COD.

IGN are useless fucks. Take everything they say with a massive pinch of cunts.
No argument here, i feel the inclusion of "vehicles" and more traditional campaign structure is pretty much the reason for why they say that. One of those is a boon, the other will depend on how good it is.

Can't wait for this game, but the dragon combat did look very odd. Can't quite put my finger on it, but the fast moving from side to side just felt a bit off.

I have a feeling I'll need to crank the speed up a fair bit. After playing so much Eternal this will feel quite slow. But at least the option is there.

I'm in. Always loved Doom and always will. But I totally understand why some people may be put off by what their doing with the IP more and more. I get that sentiment, I really do. But much like Eternal, I'll hop into this with an open mind. In the end I loved Eternal, but I loved 2016 a LOT more. I'm really curious to know where this will land for me.

I don`t know, this looks too slow, grounded and "strafy" for my taste.....
When it comes to shooters of this kind I vastly prefer the "mobility & chaos" principle of a Quake 3 Arena over--whatever this is. With all the medieval backdrop the demons also look strangely out of place and it feels like I´m watching a Witchfire preview instead of a Doom one, but maybe that`s just 1-2 levels?
