Yeah, I don't get why people would complain about changes that make it more feasible and tempting for supports to buy the items they need to make for more interesting matches, and for carries to not divert their core items as much when supports are being greedy and not buying them. Having too many of these items is impossible with the timers attached to them, and it means there's less of an excuse to not buy them.
You could argue that this means supports get their items faster which speeds up the game, but I don't think it'll make that big a difference in that regard. Low-skill supports will buy more support items instead of acting greedily now (we can only hope!) or continue not buying them, which won't change their meta. Higher-skill supports can use the extra gold to reinvest in more support items, and yeah, they'll probably get their items faster. But these changes amount to what, 200 gold for game max?
The only place this will speed things up is in pro games, and supports there tend to be dirt-poor anyway.
