Love how the computer resets.

Hopefully they'll take the off-track counter out. Don't really know why it's in there. Imagine being in the middle of one of these epic crashes and then it cancels out :(

With all that and the windshield and windows stay in tact??? I thought cars took damage? I swear I saw screens with car damage or is there a option to play without damage?

Regardless, cannot wait to get this game. Having Forza Horizon 2 and this game will be bliss. One is an open/go anywhere racing game and the other is more traditional track based racing game. Bring it on!!!

So right now, what we know:

Replay mode: work in progress, will come as a free update
Weather: work in progress, will come as a free update. Will include thunder, lightning and snow
Photomode: work in progress, will come as a free update, has many features (even more than inFamous Second Son)
Cars [Additions]: 7 free, ~40 paid
Out-of-track counter: Evo is keeping an eye in the community for the reactions, if it's not a good addition they could turn it off

I can't see these things helping the initial media reaction to it :/

Those are pretty fundamental things to be late additions in a title was advertised as launching with the platform.

I wouldn't worry about what those IGN idiots are saying. None of their criticism reflects on the game itself, just their own general ignorance.

They aren't reviewing it. Hopefully someone who knows/cares about racing games gets that duty. From what I've seen and heard, the game has turned out very solid.

the windows are definitely cracked afterwards, i'm not sure if they can actually break though?

After watching that stream, I'm very impresses how smooth the menu system worked and the load times are awesome, and should even be better in my hybrid drive. :)

They crack, but they don't break. There are no damage options as the damage never gets to the point where someone would consider turning it off

It's a little strange that after a one year delay all these features have to show up via post release patches.

That implies they were simply picking their collective noses for a year. The game engine and world/car details are far more gorgeous than what we saw a year ago, and they have added a ton of gameplay features as well.

They can't do EVERYTHING in one year considering the ambition of the title, and at least most of the upcoming stuff is free.

Huh? Isn't the T500 supposed to be one of the best wheels out there?

Thrustmaster makes good wheels with very crappy internal parts that hold it together, so although good, they tend to break down pretty quick. Plus their customer service is one of the worst out there. Combine that and you got expensive shitty wheels.

Look at any Amazon review for their wheels. It's mostly negative with the two above points being the main talking points.

My metacritic prediction is based mainly on the hype and media impressions.

So, fixed for the new page:

Replay mode: work in progress, will come as a free update
Weather: work in progress, will come as a free update. Will include thunder, lightning and snow
Photomode: work in progress, will come as a free update, has many features (even more than inFamous Second Son)
Cars [Additions]: 9 free, 38 paid
Tracks: 11 free tracks, including 1 new location
Out-of-track counter: Evo is keeping an eye in the community for the reactions, if it's not a good addition they could turn it off.

The weather update will come before Christmas.

Also, I just found this link with some pretty cool information directly from Simon Barlow, designer from Evo: http://www.develop-online.net/inter...-talks-progression-ui-and-meta-gaming/0198285

Interesting tidbit:

Evolution has said before that DriveClub a year after release was planned from the outset to look very different to DriveClub at launch…

And we don’t know what that’s going to be yet either. We had a vision for the game and we have a vision for how we want to extend that, but we’ve left gaps in the schedule next year because we want to work with the community on this. We want to leave enough space to respond to feedback from the community and to try and deliver features or even remove features that aren’t quite working.

I like DLC in games. I like that it extends the experience for me, but I feel like I’m just getting what I’m expected to be getting – there’s nothing that surprises me. We were quite keen to move beyond that as a developer.

Instead of just giving players more of the game, it was to try and open a dialogue with the community, be much more transparent and much more open and let the players know that it’s a shared experience, just as much for us as it is them. We’re all shaping what it’ll be a year from now together.

Nice.

No, it doesn't. It's as simple as this. Stop and ask yourself the last time you can recall a game shipping with several basic features of the genre missing. Then throw a nearly one year delay into equation. It's an odd set of circumstances to say the least.

Hoping the heavy rain effects on the windshield in cockpit view affects visibility unlike that other game. Evo still haven't shown off how rain looks in cockpit view so I'm wondering how it'll look.

You bet it's gonna look incredible. Rushy said the guys were modelling the windshield wipers individually to make them more believable... so yeah.

I can't tell what's real or not anymore.

A company being excited for their new game is a huge slap in the face to all the fans that liked their old games.
I almost took off the top global contender in the norway BMW drift challenge. I can't wait till I advance into the hyper car stuff. If I keep this pace up I'm gonna be razor sharp come release.

EDIT:

Case in point lol:

LOL the PSNation guy is having quite the tough time with hyper cars!

I think that the best way to play this game is challenge yourself to climb the leaderboards and beat challenges with the lower tiered cars so when you get your hands on the hypers you can handle them.

Then, again it does a bunch of things we haven't seen before in racing games.

Very interested in the T300RS wheel. Any recommendations on adjustable stands for those sitting on gaming chairs or bean bag type seats?

Can anyone confirm if this DLC is the bonus from pre-order (PSN USA)?

McLaren 12C Pack
Mercedes SLS AMG
RUF RT12 R.

I just don't get any of the negativity around the game. Looks great, real solid and the guys actually playing (you pricks!!) are positive about it.

Can't wait. Also, it's been said but I'm going to say it again, and no disrespect to DC cos we're going to play the crap out of it soon but;

Rushy, Evo, Sony, Yoshida and whoever else is listening, I got 2 words for you

MOTOR. STORM.

Make it happen.

Just unlocked the Pagani Huayra for reaching level 20 just grinding away at one challenge.

I still can't knock this guy off top spot. Dang it!

Damn, just caught the last race in that stream. The lighting looks amazing. The race seemed intense and fun, especially in the cockpit view.

Huh? Isn't the T500 supposed to be one of the best wheels out there?

Arguably the best wheel on the market bar custom ones for PC Sims or the high end Fanatec wheels in that cost more than half a grand.

Thrustmaster makes good wheels with very crappy internal parts that hold it together, so although good, they tend to break down pretty quick. Plus their customer service is one of the worst out there. Combine that and you got expensive shitty wheels.

I generally wouldn't take many Amazon reviews seriously. The wheel itself is recommend by the guys over at InsideSimRacing who are big time Racing Sim enthusiasts, so take that however you will in terms of how good the wheel is.

Hm, I actually hope certain challenges force you into cockpit view for rainy challenges. Would be pretty cool for fame/club challenges
