That feeling when, after being "trolled" for about 100 times, you actually find an illusionary wall for the first time in 40 hours of playtime.
Was at 48 hours, found my first purely by accident last night...

It's going to be a long, long game.

havent finished the game yet but my god what an adventure. its everything i wanted and more

Just found out...

That the falling star Beast can be found a 2nd time

My First Time fighting it was like

I just murdered Patches in a moment of bloodlust and I’m not feeling too happy with myself.

I did this too, he tried talking and I was just spamming attack. my blood letting kicked in and evaporated him….ultimately I thought fuck that guy, what a prick, kicked me down holes, laughed at me….he’s a prick and hes a rip off merchant. Good riddance you bald fuck, patches!

this game is basically the best game ever made imo…..just let down by its technical issues which I now have fully accepted and they don’t even annoy me on PC as it’s a slight stutter every now and again.

Level up your character a bit so that they can take at least one hit at full HP. Additionally, try to mix your Flask of Wonderous Physick with the protective bubble tear that let's you get hit once with massively reduced damage negation.

Some tips:
  • Don't use the lock on camera. It'll spazz out on such a huge boss and get you killed. This is especially true for such a narrow area.
  • Immediately get in close and hug one of the boss' sides. I mean literally cling to the side. Creating distance between the player and this boss is one of the worst things you can do - a lot of its attacks will close gaps quickly and hone in on you. Thankfully, its turn radius is shit.
  • Just spam jump attacks and charged R2s while hugging the side. If you want to play it safe, wait till after the boss attacks, dodge-roll if you need to, and whittle away. With any luck, you'll open up the boss to a critical.
  • At around half health, the boss will start glowing. Get the hell out of there - an AOE will come pretty soon. This is good moment to pop the Flask of Wonderous Physick if you haven't already done so. Afterwards, immediately run back to one of the sides of the boss. Rinse and repeat.
I’m at 35 vig, what one shots me is the grab move. I was already doing everything you listed except the physic flask. Will try that. But I still stand that this boss is horribly designed.

so I was wandering around at the edge of the map and fell down some cliffs edge using Cotton and theres.... a fucking entire village of those little pot dudes just chilling the fuck out. It's called Jar Burg.

This game man. So much hidden stuff you can miss even after 2 full runs.

I was just there 30 mins ago! There's 3x Smithing Stone [3] on a roof there, which was very handy cause I really needed it.

That doesn't mean they need to nerf stuff. Souls games always have broken builds/items, it's part of the fun, some players like being as OP as possible and wrecking the game, others run around naked with a 2H club. If mimic tear and magic make the game too easy for you, don't use them. What's next, nerf bleed, nerf night/fire sword, nerf jump+strong attack?

I'll hold my hands up and say I've claimed items like night/fire sword "will get nerfed" but I'm not championing it.
What is the deal with the night and fire sword? i´m increasing stats to use it. Currenlty i use Caria sword +5 and i'm doing fine.

Man oh man. In hour 120 my Assassin's Creed blade of light is finally replaced with this beastly blade that scales with Faith, I could instantly level it to +17. Also found a new seal for my incantations (lvl'd it up too, next tier requires a special smithing stone I haven't even seen yet) that replaced my godseal one, been using both that and the cipher pata for the past 70 hours or so, should have come to the manor sooner lol. My build just went from god-tier to GOAT-tier, praise the Erdtree, the holy crusade continues.🙏

It's strong enough just using it as a sword as it inflicts normal, fire AND magic damage and scales with 3 stats - but it has two weapon skills, one is a big flaming arc and the other is a laser beam. Both wreck stuff. It can make a lot of fights much easier than normal so I find myself trying not to use the weapon arts but they're super nice for clearing a bunch of mobs quickly.

I'm at level 58 in Elden Ring. However I must say, so far Dark Souls 3 is much more difficult than Elden Ring. I've died more times fighting Chamption Gundyr than anything in Elden Rings. Probably died 50 times now. I just can't seem to beat him. Rocking an Ultra Great Sword, damage is at 280+, but he manages to kill me. Still haven't beaten him.

I beat Margit and the first boss after a few tries. Dark Souls 3 ... is a nightmare for me. Anyone else feel the same way?

Where is this game breaking weapon, this may be fun for later runs

Caria Manor far north in Liurnia, there's a section with lots of raised narrow walkways and from one of them, you can jump down onto a building's roof. Go down the ladder and it's in a chest

Game is definitely much easier so far. Im level 70. Heard the end game starts to get very rough though.

Never have i faced anything remotely difficult. However i am playing on easy mode being a spellcaster. Whenever i face someone who kicks my ass way to fast i just leave and come back later - which i thonk is how the game was intended to be played.

On a different note. Whats the best staff that doesnt increase the fp cost? Im still running the meteorite one as even upgrading other staffs still has their scalling lower. I think i got two other staffs to +9 and they still are lower. My int is at 53 i think.

Meteorite until you get your int to 60 and can use the boss staff

People need to understand that level metas are different in ER than most Souls' games. You want to be at decently high levels for the late game or you're going to get wrecked by tough non-boss mobs if you aren't really damn good. I'm around 130 and can still get smashed by ER's silver knight equivalents if I get sloppy.

You can get away with lower depending on your chosen build style (dex/int seems most favourable) but if you are looking to rock say str/fai like me, you really ought to be thinking about grinding.

Champion Gundyr ... if that enemy was in Elden Ring I would run. Very quickly. Every time I face him my heart sinks and I'm paralyzed in fear. :(

Try defeating Putrid Tree Spirit.
Try to fight the three jar knights without cheese.

I'm glad that there is overpowered stuff in the game. It makes such equipment worth it to seek out.

It's super annoying when you have games where everything has to be 'balanced', so there is nothing really that good. Everything has some huge trade-off to the point that you might as well just stick with your starting eq and searching for things becomes irrelevant. I kind of feel like Elden Rings did that with armor. I'm not even excited to get new armor because none of them have really been better than whatever basic armor I had from the beginning of the game and even if the defense is higher, you get nerfed by moving like a slug. From nerfing the weapons would defeat one of the biggest points of the game, which is exploring and hoping to find something better.

I was stuck on this fucker for like an hour. I probably was under leveled but I didn’t feel like having to deal with him later every time I wanted to go to the Warmaster Shack.

Edit: sorry I’m not sure how to Spoiler Imgur video links, so watch at your own discretion.

Holy fucking shit

Malenia, Blade of Miquella!!!!!

how the hell do you beat this bitch? she is lightning fast, heals herself with a lifestealing blade, and I just cant fell her after like 20+ attempts.

May be the first Miyazaki boss I will never beat without cheese. Absolutely fucking brutal, I can't imagine how hard this fight must be for squishy / magic / caster builds

Today I discovered Adriana Chechik is playing Elden Ring on Twitch:

Please don't Google her.

She's subverting expectations set by the lip filler by talking about the nature of game design and what From did. I can even forgive her calling the dev FormSoft, she might just be a dyslexic pornstar.

No Silksong? = Delivering the pain.
Is Godrick’s great rune bugged, or do great runes in general only work when you use the extra item it mentions? I already activated it at the tower and equipped it but it doesn’t add to stats. Curious if future great runes also don’t do anything until that item is used(rune arc or whatever).

Yeah you need to have the rune equipped and then use the rune arc item.

Thanks, the wording on the great rune is pretty misleading then. All good though, on to some exploring. Godrick was legit a hard as hell fight. Laughed my ass off after he died and that peasant dude was stepping on his head.

They die many times in this battle.
Have you reached the second phase of the battle? No wonder they die many times, what else could they do? Shit's crazy. :goog_relieved:

I was kinda bummed when I realized it was a gimmick fight since I was expecting a 1v1, but honestly it's a fun fight imo, and much better than gimmick bossfights in past games.

Btw, gotta love how it's explained on the lore why that little horse is there and how is he able to carry that big mofo.

Solo'd Rykard's bitch-ass, wouldn't be a Soul's game without "that" kind of fight. Volcano Manor is up there with the best FROM has ever designed, Anor Londo, Tower of Latria, Cainhurst Castle, Senpou Temple et all. 💯

Finally beat a huge fire dragon on a bridge that I had tried and died many times before about 20 gameplay hours ago and got 90,000 runes which was a nice haul. I just wish I would have used a rune booster finger before the final blow.
