Fable = 22 hours (including all side quests)

This is according to Hil at IGN who has completed the game.

Nine hours if you rush right through.

Can't say that I'm not majorly disappointed by this news.

Anyway, both IGN and TeamXbox will simultaneously post their reviews on Friday.

well i expect to spend at least that just on pissing around in the towns not doing any missions in particular, the length of the story and the side quests here are about as important as in GTA (ie not very).

It will be disappointing if it's that short.

No excuses. BBB had 4 years to make this game. I don't expect 40+ hours, but 22 hours with all quests completed is quite short for a RPG.

~22 hours playing evil
~22 hours playing good
a good ~10 hours chopping random people's head off and then use it as a weapon

Sounds pretty good to me

Funny, but they have only being saying that its a 20 hour game since like, oh I dont know, it was ANNOUNCED.

DUHHHH.

That's the same as saying you won't buy a Resident Evil game because it ends in 8 hours.
What does it matter that it's an RPG and it doesn't last more than 10 hours? So long as they are some of the best 10 hours ever played, or that it has a long replay ability (which looks like it's the case here).

No, I believe they said that it'd be that long (20 or 30 hours I believe) if the person knew exactly what to do and where to go and with no sidequests.

I'm not disappointed. At least it doesn't sound like a bullshit estimate from a developer (e.g. Luigi's Mansion taking 40 hours to complete or something ridiculous)

Yep, that's how I feel. Not a big deal to me, I plan on playing it a couple of times anyway. Anybody think the teleporter might cut down on the time? Maybe BBB meant 30 hours if you walk the whole thing.

Can someone explain that joke to me? I mean, I know where the quote is from, but I don't get it.

You're not supposed to.

To explain the other half, though, that's Mishalu Ha Lonn before carving up Paison Tag in the middle of Five Star Stories volume eleven or so, I forget how the Japanese numbering works. Delta Belun, Joker Calendar 2995.

Agreed. If their fun, good enough. But at least there's another thread for the douchebags to come out and do what their good at.

"The game could take you 100 hours if you want. I finished it in 22 hours, but I did almost every sidequest the first time through. However, anyone who beats it in 9 hours missed the game, because I regret beating it so quickly. It's really worth just playing through slowly for 35 hours. This time through I am playing as a thief and am traveling the world and talking to everyone after every quest. There's some really cool easter eggs that you cannot come close to finding after 9 hours. There's a lot in the game, it's very dense. Lots of cool stuff to find. I spent an hour this morning just wandering this empty field looking at stuff, fishing, and trying to get a tan." - Hil

22 Hours x 1 playthrough on good
22 Hours x 1 playthrough on evil
16 Hours x 1 playthrough of just exploring all possibilities available in the game

=

60 HOURS OF GAMEPLAY!!

+ possible Xbox live downloadable content = 5 HOURS.

edit: shit, I didn't even see Buggy's post :(

Are you people actually rationalizing your pre-orders? Ive seen it done for complete purchases but this is a whole new level!

I would have thought you of all people couldn't be surprised by anything on this forum.

Thought so. Like GTA, i dont think i'll bother with the quest for some time. Just explore Albion and cuase mayhem ;P

Bested lengthwise by PM2, TOS, & BK. I'll still rent/play it, but this is far from what I envisioned initially. So much for the "open-endedness" of GTA.

Like I said in the other thread, I'm glad it's of moderate length.

I want to see all the possibilities, but I'm not wading through an uber-long game to do it. This way I could play it three times in a reasonable timeframe, making different choices each time to see various routes and character development.

Man, the nintendrones don't waste a second.

What does that have to do with it's open-endedness? I'm sure you could beat GTA in 22 hours if you didn't fuck around.
