Id love to be optimistic for Late Holiday 09, but I have feeling its not going to be until Mid 2010.

I thought they were aiming for Holiday 09 in Japan.

Yea, I'm with you there. I've heard many things but I personally don't think we'll see it here in NA for a while. I was being generous with S-E by saying late holiday :p

I don't really import. I've started a small collection since PS3 is now region free--but back in PSX/PS2 days it was harder (for me) to find a PAL/JPN system (and games) to import.

So I'm not that familiar with the scene -- it never dawned on me that people would translate an entire game for people to follow. This is really cool/refreshing, as I'd love to have FFXIII in Japanese - so I will DEFINITELY be buying.

No offense taken, sir.

I'm basically in the same boat as you though. I never imported anything during the PS2 days simply due to the fact that the system was region locked and being young and not able to buy a lot of my own things made that even harder...
Now that I'm older and can actually do such a thing though, I will glady import any time I have the chance because I don't have to own two versions of the same console now to play a game :D

That's the general consensus, yes. With a demo out in March, I don't see it being out in the summer months, so Fall 2009 is the most likely time.

I usually wouldn't import a non-english version of a game if I know that an English version is coming but I'll be getting FFXIII on day 1. Even if I can't understand much of it. :P

I'd guess we'll see it in NA/Europe in mid-late 10.

with the playable demo in March, I'd expect release to be late summer or for the holiday '09 season.

then again, if S-E has taught me anything these last 6 years or so, it's that you should never, ever, try to predict what these screwy clowns are going to do. :(

Cool :D Yea that's definitely the same boat. I mean it really wasn't that long ago, but no funds was the main culprit. And the with the Internet around, much more is possible.

So, is the new Advent Children release multilingual?

I'm more of an obedient person who waits for stuff. Even though I know enough Japanese do understand 70% of most games, I think SE is doing a fine job with the English dub. FFXII's voice actors really fit in the game and add to the charm. OMG, I can't imagine how Lightning will sound in English!

I do import a lot, but only for games released in Japan only. They have so many different genres, it's like a goldmine! Kiniro no Koruda psp (a romantic game about students learning music instruments) <3

sorry, what 'new' trailers? :\

I want to know what importing Advent Blu-Ray is gonna cost me?

Anyone have any ideas?

They haven't officially announced a price, but expect it to be anywhere from $60-$100.

Nobody will pay that much. Its not a limited edition deal.

Personally I'm not expecting them to pretty much double the price they charged for the first version of AC like some other people here. That seems just too overboard for a movie rerelease, and I'm kinda hoping they want it to be pretty accessible to a good amount of people because of the demo/videos.

I'm still expecting 60-70 myself.

I'm more interested in knowing what they'll charge for the Japanese version of FFXIII after seeing SO4's price than any demos or whatever (if it's a choice though, Asian version all the way).

Blurays are ridiculously expensive here in Japan..I can't believe how cheap you can get them in America nowadays, $10-15 for a good movie. Regardless, there will be AC blurays in BookOff or Reset within one day of release so I'll pick it up there for a bit cheaper..hopefully people don't take out the demo! :D

The Potions just came out today. It's FF related...so I figure I'd put them here. Sorry if this is a bad post. Dunno where else to put it...

Cases I bought, the Chaos case is still at the convini due to heavy rain. :(

Close up of the Cosmos and Chaos cans. I hope this brings hype for Final Fantasy and all future products!

Again, sorry if this is a bad post...saw no other thread to put this, and if you want me to move it...I will ASAP.
What do these taste like? Flavored water, juice...?

its pretty sad that most of us will pay way more for the demo than we will pay for the actual game :lol

but i need to play this game so bad that im willing to pay up to $100 for the AC bluray

At the price of Japanese BD films, there's no way in hell I'll import at extra expense a movie from there just to get a game demo. I can wait. Releasing a game demo that way is ridiculous in this day and age of XBL and PSN, and I refuse to pay for a demo period.

It's like Square, who was my favorite game developer during the PS1 era, is just trying to make me hate them now.

Has Square released any downloadable demos this generation? And with it being a 90+ minute demo, it might be too big for PSN... for just a demo anyway.

The Too Human demo was over an hour long too. I don't really think there's a relation between how LONG something is and how LARGE it is in terms of filesize. It's mostly an imaginary relation that people make. Something that's LONGER does not mean it's LARGER. ToV is a 40-80 hour game, it's on a single DVD. Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are the same length, and they're 3 DVDs and 4 DVDs respectively. Infinite Undiscovery is 2 DVDs and is 20-30 hours long. There are 1gig demos that are shorter than 300meg demos. NO RELATION!

Precisely. However didn't they say it was up to a 2 hour demo or something? Not to mention the goodies included with Advent Children, as well as the obvious Bluray-optimized picture for this release. IMO, I'm simply willing to pay it.

EDIT: Let me add another however. I won't pay any more than $100 !

Another is Killzone 2 - one would assume with everything happening in that build it would be over 1 gig -- Wasn't it only like (approx.) 550 megs?

Obvious-age but apparently there's an article in the new GI and it says this:

"We're hearing that the release date for Final Fantasy XIII is starting to come in view.
Square Enix plans to bring the game out in Japan during the 2009 holiday season, with a U.S. release sometime in 2010. This could be as early as summer 2010 or as late as holiday 2010."

Trying to get an actual confirmation on the article though. I don't have my issue yet :(

hell Kagari, just when I was convinced that it would be a possibility of a late 2009 release after finding out the demo would be out in March you had to go and post that.

Late 2009 in Japan.

It's like a tonic water but with a hella bad aftertaste. This is something that you should never open, just let it be pretty and then sell it for a lot of money on ebay the next time you move.

I've a feeling that FFvs13 will be out in Japan by the time FF13 hits PAL-land

Well asap is the way to be. It will be interesting how The FNC trilogy will be marketed in the Western World considering only one of the three titles is Multiplat...hmm.

They've got plenty of time to figure that out :lol

Large scans of Fabuloa Nova Crystallis games from CLOUD Message(???) went up

Chocobo in Agito too

And character design of a new character for FFXIII?

the screens are too small to tell accurately, but it looks like the first gameplay screens of Vs???

edit: yeah definitely gameplay. When did Noctis learn the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu? :lol

These pics are kinda cool...

And it seems like they wrote up some interesting concepts/ideas on the boards.

The Versus one mentions the Fal'Cie on it too. :o

I wouldn't really call those "gameplay" screens. Most of them look like debug screens where they're playing with fitting the character onto background settings, etc. They're definitely realtime test screens though, and a lot of the environments look pretty interesting.
