Didn't think the Tomb Raider reboot was bad in terms of gameplay. It just felt like too much like Uncharted with the super-realistic aspect of it. And now Uncharted 4 looks like Tomb Raider so I guess it's come full circle.

And the recent thread on female design by Nirolak on the Gaming side is more evidence that things are improving rapidly.

I wish that TR had stuck more with the survival horror aspect a lot more. I remember that being a thing when they announced it, and a ton of concept art to show for it.
EDIT: I remember that thread, and if that doesn't prove things aware getting better, design-wise at least I don't know what will.

Yeah, but I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it. I love the game and picking it up again for my One. I'm just bummed there's a crappy multiplayer (and accompanying achievements that I got already on my 360) and nothing to do on the island post game.

Still, love the gunplay and the environments and score. Too bad the "definitive" edition got a new face for Lara. Liked the older one better.
