Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity? Not allowing for AI and vehicles in multiplayer. Another great video by Robert Cram showing some of the craziness that can be created in the editor. As for me? It would be cool, but I will have enough fun just creating my own mad scenarios to play around in that feature vehicles and AI. More than happy that I can do that. 360 version looks really good here, btw.

Hmm I'm tempted to call my local shop right now and ask if they have it already though I fear "Oh god not this guy again who always calls 2-3 days in advance because he knows we sell things early..." reactions. It would make me feel a bit like a fool :(

Yeah, i think PC games or Gamestar said something about texture quality and such.

Ubisoft's store might* allow a slight pre-load.. not really sure. Not a great shopping experience.

What is "GPU max buffered frames" ?

And too bad there isn't any kind of post-process AA. I know MSAA is grossly superior IQ wise but a cheap yet somewhat efficient AA solution is always nice to have.

In any case MSAAX2 will cut it.

Lol thanks.

And yeah. No texture quality options, etc? There has to be an "advanced" tab somewhere.

how many frames are stored in memory before being displayed, its to minimise loading and provide better performance. if this is too high then delay becomes an issue

Use one of the 8 million external ways to force post-process AA? I mean there is an avalanche of options from the last 2 years.

is there any sort of input delay on ps3 like BF3/killzone/any UE3 FPS.

Yes, it feels like a microsecond delay, but not significant enough to detract from the experience.

Hmm you have a point there yeah :/ One jeep in ten minutes would be rather lackluster that's true... but I hope you are right, I mean it makes sense that people stick to villages in a dangerous jungle world and it seems like a more hostile place than lets say Just Cause 2.

Even after taking over encampments, there were still hostiles nearby. I'd say the enemy/friendly ratio in the jungle was 3:1. Then there are those times friendlies were being escorted to their own executions, which made for some impromptu and brief rescue missions.

Being able to create custom single player missions is amazing, shame you can't share them though.

Will probably try to recreate MGS map, from sneaking in underwater to Rex and the following jeep escape. The whole map is quite small actually and i'm sure there's enough instruments to do a good job.

Well, i guess it won't be snowing though.

I know I know but I'm pestering them enough with the Wii U already so I better wait till tomorrow, it's rainy and dark outside and I don't feel like taking a 20 minute bus trip with that weather anyway :p

Oh and do we know if the game is Steamworks integrated in any way? If it is then pre-purchasing is pointless anyway :( Or is it simply a Steam --> Uplay --> Far Cry 3 process? A friend of mine asked me to gift it to her on Steam since she is in the UK but I don't want to screw her out either.

Hmm I see, that does sound like it could be a bit annoying on the long run, I don't like not being able to explore things without hostiles getting on my nerves every few minutes though as long as it's not on a Far Cry 2 level I suppose I can live with it :p And the brief rescue missions sound like they could be fun :D

Forcing FXAA through the drivers has not given me satisfactory results.

This is a false dilemma though as MSAAX2 is here.

Nvidia's driver FXAA generally looks better than in-game FXAA implementations have. There are multiple injectors though and alternatives to FXAA.

retail/digital versions are uplay, and steam versions are steam->uplay. i think steam's protection wont allow playing before release.

but i dont think uplay has that functionality yet, so retail and digital versions could be good to go as soon as

I loved Far Cry 2 and am hoping this one holds the same charm of that one.

I will wait on first impressions before jumping all the way in.

Edit: Just ran across the wingsuit... finger hovering over pre-order button.

Okay thanks for answering that question! :) The last thing that I wonder, if I buy a retail copy will I be able to register it in Steam? If so I would just buy a second retail version for my friend and simply pass her the key.

Is there any video out showing the 360 version of the game? I'm still uncertain if I should buy it for the PS3, 360 or PC (Laptop with 540M GT).

edit: Or do we have a comparison between all versions online already?

Considering your appetite for blurriness the PS360 versions are the way to go ! ;)

I could not wait any longer for Digital Foundry so I've bought the 360 version. I guess this is a "safe" bet. This game is MINE tomorrow.

Too bad Ubisoft could not Vsync the game on consoles...

Anyone know how many difficulty levels and options there are? I'd buy the game on PC right now if the hardest difficulty can scratch my survival FPS itch along with options to disable body/loot highlighting and so on.

Does anyone know when the game will unlock if sent as a Steam gift to a region where it is not available on Steam (US>UK)? As far as I'm aware it is based on its availability in the region it is sent to as opposed to the region it is sent from, but this game isn't scheduled to be available at all on Steam in the UK so I have no idea.
