I dont anymore. All the trailers from 2006-2016I do it too
I am not ashamed to admit that the game became significantly less interesting since Tabata took over.
Its for the better anyway.I rest easy that VersusXIII was never meant to happen.

Glad we agree.Definitely, it's a different game and I'm just judging on its own merits. Versus for me died a long time ago with Stella on the side. I hope Nomura gets the invite for the launch in JP.
Isn't this the FF game that supposed to restore Final Fantasy's reputation?

Oh that's fair, that might have been worthwhile. Hate what I've heard of the English VA so far.It would've been a much better investment to use the all-star VA cast that the movie has in the game instead.
And the game needs it too.Current VA isn't even up to XIII's level.
I really enjoyed Episode Duscae and the game overview sessions at E3 and unless the final game suddenly turned into a sports game, I'm going to really enjoy FFXV. In many ways, both in gameplay and setting it's a game that I have wanted for a really long time.
I know some people get down when they read negative comments on GAF, or when a game they like only gets mediocre to good reviews. My advice to these people: don't be influenced by negative comments and when the game releases, watch some extended gameplay of it. If you like what you see, then buy it it.
RPGs and Final Fantasy games are so diverse, hard to slice or present in a short movie and reviewers have their own sense of what's important for them. Reviews should be used as a guideline, not scrolling down, reading the final paragraph/score and deciding on whether you buy it based on that. I'm sure some will shower praise, I'm sore others will be a bit more harsh but never should a review become your own opinion until you've at least tried it and agree or disagree with it.
I hope there's a lot about the story and world we don't know yet. They've been so transparent about showing this game that I have an impression built up in my mind on what it is... But so far that doesn't include dungeons, plot twists, surprise locations, etc.
My fear is that it's a really simple scenario. The stuff in Kingsglave leads Noctis and crew on a mission to reclaim the city... You fight through open areas to get there... And that's it. If there isn't significant back and forth in the story and scenario, then I'll find it disappointing.

The story, script & VA will most likely be a disaster.
They've done an absolutely terrible job at marketing the game.
Still showing months old footage of PC & pre-alpha versions of the game.
The game will be panned & shite on my critics and fans alike, but will assuredly have a higher MC score than FFXIV 1.0.
I'll be there day one.

Not sure what it means. You are rating a game before it even comes out?
He probably unintentionally switched the b with an m.It was supposed to say: "The game will be panned & shite on by critics"
According to SE this needs 10M sold to be a success

I'm the only one that enjoy episode Duscae and Platinum Demo?
no, many enjoyed it, I sure did. Many Gaffers just like to shit on it.I'm the only one that enjoy episode Duscae and Platinum Demo?
Oh damn. U got a link? Also, breaking even isn't exactly a success for a corporation, especially for a game like FFNo. That was misquoted. 10M would be their dream goal, but they need less to break even.

But it did reinvigorate FF to millions of ppl. I don't even play it and that is obvious to see. The game is a fan tribute to FF all aroundYou have to stop saying this. It's an MMO, it plays differently, it comes with different expectations, and it's judged by different standards. This game might as well not exist for players of single-player mainline Final Fantasy games.

I don't care how many FFXI and XIV devotees like to claim their titles of choice are "just as good." It's a different product for a different audience. It's not the same thing. They're entirely different in structure and experience from a game designed to be a single player, cinematic, linear experience rather than a treadmill/skinner box to suck time and thus money from each player as long as possible. The business needs the title represents necessarily inform the structure and pacing of the game.
I played FFXIV v2 to the end credits (though I have not yet played Heavensward) and it was probably the best MMORPG I've played, but it is absolutely shackled by its specific genre and the purpose of its creation. You have to do shitty sidequests to get to the shitty sidequests. I'll never forget being made to collect food for a feast so we can talk to some jerk while a Primal attack could happen at any time.
It's 90% anticlimactic filler. Not at all like the lightning fast pacing of the offline games in the first 2/3 of the series. The only exciting and cinematic moments are the pre-rendered intros to each expansion, which are admittedly pretty amazing. Everything else is either mute talking heads bobbing in an idle stance and shifting roboticly into emotes while the text drones on and on about nothing (content!) or else excruciatingly voiced scenes where everybody puts on their best dinner theater English accents and those scenes still have static blocking and camera work and poor writing and pacing. There's nothing there that even out does the presentation of FFX.
FFXIV can be pretty at times, the music is good, and some people truly enjoy the grind, but it's a fundamentally different beast. Playing a remix of the FF3 battle theme occasionally and letting you wear a white mage's robe doesn't mean they've nailed the feel of the older games. I get exactly what the person you were responding to is talking about. The MMOs can never be a replacement for the offline titles.
FF needs to work on its presentation in a lot of facets. Getting in people who are less baroque in their visual design is absolutely part of it. But learning or re-learning what pacing is, in cinematic design, scenario, and game play seems to me to be at least as important as well.
Marketing seens to be almost no existant this close to launch. I have faith in Tabata, but no way the game will deliver on the ridiculous level of hype it generated from all these years.
Here's a good post by Pyrrhus on why XIV's success is completely irrelevant to fans of single-player mainline FF games, and thus to the reputation of that line of games.
