Square has removed denuvo from all their releases after 6 months for the last couple of years, they dont use a lifetime service like capcom and sega for some reason.Denuvo was removed from the game today. My guess is sales of the game weren't even keeping up with continuing to pay the Denuvo bill...
Maybe it won’t run like shit now.Denuvo was removed from the game today. My guess is sales of the game weren't even keeping up with continuing to pay the Denuvo bill...
Seriously what is it with everyone acting like the thing hold games back from selling is not being multiplat? We've been watching multiplat games fail for decades now.I hate to break it to SE, Xbox, and Sony, but releasing games everywhere does not equate to exponentially higher sales. if you game is MID, it's going to be MID everywhere
I agree it should have been a spinoff, and someone give Yoshi-P an editor FFS. There's an incredible 25 hour long action game there with about 50 hours of open world bloat, pointless plot deviations, and awful side quests tacked on.It's a combination of it being a fairly weak Final Fantasy game (should have been a "Gaiden" game, imho. Like Stranger of Paradise was) and the temporary console exclusivity and the fairly weak marketing push when they launched it on PC.
Ironically SoP is a better FF game and action game then FF16 ever will be.It's a combination of it being a fairly weak Final Fantasy game (should have been a "Gaiden" game, imho. All Yoshida's plan to get out of executive management. My guess is sales of the game weren't even keeping up with continuing to pay the Denuvo bill...
It's a beloved franchise without DEI bs and basically the comeback to medieval themes in the franchise. I hope it runs better now on PC, expecting to see some benchmarks.Seriously what is it with everyone acting like the thing hold games back from selling is not being multiplat? Stranger of Paradise is my Final Fantasy 16 (or Final Fantasy 1: Remake, depending on how you want to look at it). It's awesome.Ironically SoP is a better FF game and action game then FF16 ever will be.
We need Bravely Third. Bundle it with BDFF and BSEL ports. Would buy.Maybe, just maybe, they could make a final fantasy game that plays like a final fantasy and not like an action game.
Maybe old fans of the séries would buy it.
It really pays to play these games later rather than sooner.Denuvo was removed from the game today. My guess is sales of the game weren't even keeping up with continuing to pay the Denuvo bill...
An extra $2 million won’t exactly make the PS version any better. Nor would you get much marketing for that price.Awesome game, but shoulda stayed PS exclusive and put the porting money into making that version even better and marketing it.

You could have paid Maximillian for 20 more videos, and had Ben Starr do the rounds on every podcast known to man again.Nor would you get much marketing for that price.

But its nothing like DMC.The game looked uninteresting when it came out. I love FF, and not Devil may cry. This looked a lot like DMC.
A combination of Xbro idiots pushing their agenda and PCMR who can't cope with the fact that their platform doesn't automatically give a 100% sales boost to every game.Seriously what is it with everyone acting like the thing hold games back from selling is not being multiplat? I'm curious to see performance metrics. I'll bet you there's at least a slight improvement, and potentially a notable one, and Denuvo apologists will overlook it and keep saying that Denuvo is necessary to fight piracy and that it doesn't hurt performance in any noticeable manner. That line of bullshit is always on time.Removing Denuvo from any game should universally be labelled a Quality of Life patch.
I enjoyed it. Didn't feel like Final Fantasy but it was a pretty solid RPG.LOL, the problem is the gamne isn't very good, not the day one or PS5 exclusiveness,
played it at my sisters, hated the combatBut its nothing like DMC.
I take it you won't be buying GTAVI on PC at full price then?full priced games released years later sell catalog numbers, not launch numbers. those aren't bad catalog numbers.

It'll be "old" by the time it comes to PC.
Please tell me you'll pirate it. That's exactly why PC doesn't get GTA day and date to begin with. If that isn't the reason, why do you think it is? Please tell me you have a theory.
I heard they patched those issues.Got this game day 1 on steam and got a refund after an hour of experiencing the horrible optimization of graphics. we’re talking sub 30 fps on an I9 with an rtx 3090 at 1080p. Like that level of bad. Doubt that it was all because of denuvo. Likely SE couldnt care less to optimize the game properly and just wanted to make a quick buck.
Also, japanese devs tend to be bad at PC optimization. Don’t ask me why, I’m just calling it as I see it.
Same here. Don't really have the energy to argue with people trying to convince me I shouldn't have liked it.replayed it in Story Mode on PS5 Pro (about... 30 hours, maybe), and I still like it
but the first time I played it, the sidequests broke too much of the pacing.
Yeah, I didn't love that they were attaching that max dudes name so much with the game and I believe they could've been smarter w the marketing. That said, SE stated FFXVI did better than previous entries with younger audiences so hopefully the next one is poised to do well if they stay focused. You could have paid Maximillian for 20 more videos, and had Ben Starr do the rounds on every podcast known to man again.
I'd like to see FF14 turn an expansion pack into a full game (considering how large they are and how much content they pack) with a turn based system and see what happensOne thing is clear: the Japanese must not try to copy the West.
Final Fantasy has to go back to its roots and feature a fantastical world that makes you dream, with a team that you care about. Now, I know there's a debate between ATB and turn-based, but Baldur's Gate 3 has shown that you can make a callback by doing something that isn't aimed at the general public and still be a big hit.
Make a game with Amano's art in motion and I'll be the happiest man alive!
