Anyone know if the save can be transferred to a USB Flash Drive for the PS3? I was going to get the 360 version because I go back and forth between my place in Boston and NH. I always bring my 360 HDD with me so I can play at both places. Since it's better on PS3 I'm getting that version but was wondering if I could bring my saves with me. Anyone with the PS3 version willing to try it out and let me know?

Question on Lightning's Gunblade: can she actually fire it or only slice with it in-game? Maybe spoiler question??

WORST START TO AN FF GAME EVER

No level ups, no new abilities, just one long corridor shit-fest with one attack and constant party switching.

What a load of shit so far lol.

She can fire it. It happens all the time once you can queue 4 attacks.

Depending on your area you have quite the long line by that time. If you can get there around 10 you will get an earlier position in line and thus a shorter wait. At least that's how we run these midnight things at my location.

If anyone is going to the gamestop midnight thing launch in Miami, Florida at 163rd, I have the pleasure of working all today and well into the event. I'll see you there

How busy do you anticipate it being? I kinda wanna go right after work (right around midnight), but I don't wanna get there and wait in line to find out that the last copy was sold already.

It's a FF game, it won't sell out because they're stocking enough for an entire week of sales at a bare minimum.

You can always also preorder today, then come back at midnight and pick it up.

Yeah the start was a bit of a let down. Stick with it though, it does get better. Put about four and a half hours into it this afternoon,
holy shit at lake bresha crystalizing, that has to be the prettiest scene in a game ever :O

Yeah I backed my saves up the other day onto USB so they're not locked.

Question about achievements...(didn't want to look at the list in fear of spoilers)...do they come naturally throughout the game or do you have to do a bunch of crazy things to get them?

So uhh is this game any good? I could trade in DJ Hero + Dante's Inferno for it..

Pretty hard to say, like it should be, different for every individual :lol

Personally, i only like the visuals and the battle system. Everything else, not so much, so I've dropped it in favor of finishing Vesperia at the moment. Might not get back to it even, but I'm compelled because it is Final Fantasy after all. Heck i want to continue more through Magna Carta 2 even, as opposed to FF13.

Others, friends I've talked to seem quite invested into the story, characters, and battle system. So it's pretty much: you just have to try it for yourself.

The biggest underlining issue for me is coming straight from finishing Mass Effect 2 and given that games incredibly designed universe/world, my most important aspect of an RPG, the lack of a proper realized one in FF13 is what's hurting it the most for me. Like taking the R out of RPG.

Can you holler at me if you find that one of them has it? I hope they get it in today...

That makes it sound alot worse than it actually is.

Huh? The world is one of the better ones created in Final Fantasy. The database gives a lot of info about locations, people, and events from the past. If by "incredibly designed" you mean bunch of numbers about rotation time and orbit of a planet then you're right, ME2 takes the cake here.

I've had a different impression so far. I could understand complaints about "taking the R out of RPG" because of the linearity and lack of meaningful choice (that would work for 95% of all JRPGs actually) -- but the world design in particular seems quite well developed and interesting. And the wealth of codex datapad entries flesh it out in a fashion somewhat comparable to Bioware's games.

Maybe i didn't quite say it right. "Realized" would of been the better term. The game world doesn't feel alive etc etc.

Yeah, i do actually quite agree on this. The datapad entries i completely agree on. If this had been backed up by creating a proper/seemingly alive game world, even just a fake impression of one like many games. It would just be all the better for the game. I'm not bashing it or anything though. :)

Got my copy this morning. First impressions WOW it is GORGEOUS. I know you just move in a straight line but damn, so much detail. One of the best looking games I've played. And the CG is insanely impressive.

I also love Sazh already and think his voice actor is perfect. Anyway, still in tutorial mode (which lasts many hours right? :p) so not much else to say.

Back to playing! :)

It all depends on how invested you become into the story and characters. I was a fan of both, so it certainly felt alive to me. Reading the prologue also helped with that.

still 13 hours left (for me at least)! x_x

Seems like days. Debating on whether to finish WKC or dick around with a New Game+ on P4 to kill the time.

I finished one of the two essays due this week, going to do the other one now to tide me over until midnight. I'm so pathetic. Haha.

Weird I haven't received a call on this yet. Did GS release a list of stores for midnight release

You can look on ebgames.com and it'll list whatever is in your area that's open.

I think your store has to have over 100 pre-orders or something. I got a text from them.
