Arcanist > summoner.

Different job quests I assume.

Jobs require you to equip a soul stone, Arcanist will have 2.

They're going to be doing branching job paths from all of the base classes eventually, this is just the first one.

That's how it would work, yes.

You'd do your job quests, get your job crystal and you've got both. Just equip the crystal of the other to change.

I figured as much. Guess that means when they start branching off stuff like GLA, WHM, etc I'll have the new jobs at 50 already.

I wonder what second job classes they will add. Dark Knight for Gladiator is confirmed. Geomancer for Pugilist and Beastmaster for Marauder make sense. Ranger for Archer would be kind of redundant, wouldn't it? And I have no idea what they can do with the other classes to differentiate them.

Probably, seems like a wise choose for new players.

Not really, one would be a buff class and one a pure DPS class.

World sounds similar size to what it was in 1.0 its just been cut up into smaller sections.
