Nice, the new water has enviroment reflections finally.
I expected something like this though, the beta3 graphics was still a bit rough..
Ugh, I started getting error 90000. Apparently it's got something to do with packet blockage on the ISP side, funny thing is it only started happening a week ago. Became more frequent over the past couple of days. I think I first seen error 90000 2 days ago, and it started becoming more common today, seen twice in about 3 hours.
Was perfect this morning, though.
Anyway, here's to hoping it's ironed out by phase 4. Had a good time with phase 3, Durandal closed down with a mass of Highlanders doing, er, stuff.

. 4chan linkshell didn't exactly have the best reputation on the server.It's a big issue for many of us, but it's apparently not that bad for everyone. I was having fun doing this in the last few days (not my GIF).
That's easily my biggest concern about the game right now, but there's a ray of hope, as some of our bug reports have finally been "accepted". Hopefully we'll get a dev response on that issue.
Yea, I was wondering the same question. It happend to me to many times that I start on a server and end up being one of the few in the guild or whatever that still plays there

Just a comment about why we're not rolling on Gilgamesh:
First, all gaming communities are not rolling on Gilgamesh. That is evident by devious' post. Second, we are not actively avoiding other communities. We already selected our server and re-iterated that it would be our server for launch and trying to re-communicate that to everyone and ensure that we all end up in the same place again is going to create a problem. Third, I have had the pleasure (or displeasure) of being on such a server and it's not all it's cracked up to be. While there are some other great communities out there, several others are undesirable or a bit of a mixed bag because those communities don't have the kind of screening or moderation that GAF does. Lastly, in order for our guild to thrive we will need to rely on additional membership outside of GAF and having all gaming communities on a single server will increase competition in recruiting and attract other larger guilds. This will create membership problems and undesirable competition in other areas while trying to build a reputation for GAF as one of the best Free Companies on the server.
Regarding player population, the population numbers from the chart that people are talking about were compiled from Lodestone beta numbers and only counted characters that were level 5 and above. All new server populations were easily within less than 1500 of each other which is around a 1% difference compared to total population, and Ultros was still the third most populated server. I'm not sure that I would consider this data reliable, and even if it is, these numbers are insignificant. In addition, I'm fairly confident that every single server will be packed at open beta/launch based on the response to the game.

We are expecting around 300 members at launch and will likely lose 50% of that after the first few months but that gives us a strong foundation to work with. As long as we do our due diligence in recruiting and building a strong community, we should be fine.

Why I never! I expected us to be civil outside the game, but the gauntlet has been thrown, sir! I challenge you to a lvl 1 auto-attack duel of the grandest proportions at Highbridge as soon as P4 starts!

I've played up to Satasha on every Disciple of Magic/War class except THM (only like level 10 or something) and I got CNJ up to 30. The only thing I didn't do was Brayflox's Longstop. By the end I was pretty bored of the combat and entertained myself by using Fluid Aura to knock back (NeoGAF user) Gravijah's tank target.
I'm also very concerned about the amount of content in the game (even knowing stuff was left out for the beta). Especially for leveling additional classes.
Although I won't be playing a Disciple of War class, I'm concerned about TP compared to basically infinite MP on THM with Umbral Ice for longer fights that are surely coming at higher levels.
But I'm going to miss the game for the weeks leading up the Phase 4.
I enjoy everything except for the combat. I hope it's enough long term. It's certainly enough for now and enough to have me buy the CE for PS3 ($10 more) even though I already have the PC version with free ARR because Square has some ridiculous system that doesn't let you link PC CE to existing PC accounts.

Based on playing with my level 50 jobs and doing Brayflax Longstop, I think it's fine. BLMs don't deal auto-attack damage so this is how they can be constantly dealing DPS (with dips and peaks). When you start casting ice your damage drops considerably--like down to around melee AA damage IIRC (of course on bosses you should avoid using ice at all in general from a pure damage perspective).
TP is basically infinite, too, in the sense that it is just constantly regenerating even without hitting things. Plus there's the BRD song for TP regen on fights that go long enough for your melee DD to need a refill in addition to Invigorate which restores almost half of your TP every 3 minutes.

Ah that's nice to hear. I didn't play much THM. I just noticed some slight TP problems on Lancer on some bosses. But I wasn't thinking about auto attack.
4chan isn't some kind of virus or single entity, not to mention most of them browse other communities.

Sometimes the Ultros server seemed rather empty. And I played at different times of the day. I hope this changes with the final release.
Well I'm from Europe, and the amount of people active even during my play times were pretty crowded on Ultros, which actually suprised me quite a bit.

It was pretty active at all times for me up until the final test. I think most people stopped playing to wait for phase 4 at that point.

it didn't feel that way for me at all. I was amazed at how many people were constantly running around the zone I was in.
although that's what every MMO looks like in beta/launch.

I did more that than one time Fates alone. Perhaps I should choose an European server. We'll see.
A level 30 GC leve gave me 250 seals plus money for 5 minutes of work. Higher level GC leves should give more seals. Sure beats choco escorts or crappy "stand in one spot for 10 minutes" GC leves from 1.x.
Provisioning missions are also a nice way to get seals if you have extra stuff lying around to turn in but in beta I doubt people were really doing these. The few times I checked them, even with my stash of stuff carried over from 1.x I didn't have anything on hand to turn in for provisioning or even the mats to make the requested finished products.
The mats are based on your current lvl on each as the missions give EXP/Seals based on lvl. I was able to get close to 10k EXP with on turn in on my ARM at lvl 20ish and it was on an item lvl appropriate, seals were about 80, and the other crafts which were lower lvl were lvl appropriate and I got 40ish seals on those. Same with gathering classes. The nice thing about the missions is you get EXP directly to the appropriate class and don't need to change when you turn items in.

Yeah, having 4chan and/or the Goons on your server makes the server fun.
This guy is against your interest s gaf. I've seen the horrors of 4chan on Tera. And goons just destroy servers.
How? By being dicks with everyone? If it's just one FC I don't see it destroying a server.
4chan isn't as bad, but goons, will dominate and manipulate.

Pretty much. 4chan is full of people that want to play the games and may goof off in ways that may offend you, but Goons will want to control and run the show.

The fuck? I was with 4chan in Tera. The people in the guild were literally the only thing that made Tera fun once I got to the endgame 2 weeks in and discovered how awful it was.
Do you even realize that your BFF Riposte just posted above that he is in the Sarg 4chan LS? o noes, your enemy is in your midst!
As for the Goons, they are the only people who made EVE any fun. The war they had with some elitist corp in EVE is the stuff of Internet legends. The Goons are total bros if you are cool with them.

I usually play tanks in MMOs and in FF11 the de facto tank was Paladin so in the ARR betas I played Gladiator.
After getting Gladiator to level 35 I did not like the Gladiator play style and feel that a Marauder/Warrior tank would suit me better.
However, I am worried that max level will be designed with Paladin tanks in mind and therefor Warrior tanks will be undesirable for max level dungeons and raids.
So, is high level content in ARR well balanced for tanks?

No one has seen it so no one can answer this question.
Chances are that content for 4-man parties will be balanced to work with either type of tank and content for larger parties will probably require, or at least work well with, both.

Right now there's no indication that GLD/PLD will be superior to MRD/WAR. Both seems to have their own small differences and I doubt it's great enough to make one better than the other.
Hm, okay. Why should we care about them? Are they known for being dicks everywhere they go or what? Like I said, if it's only 1 FC, I don't see how it can "kill / destroy" a server.

Maybe there is cause for concern, but honestly i've never had problems with the attack circles. If you just remove yourself the instant you see it, and wait till it disappears, you'll be ok.
Yes but keep your My Documents subfolder structure since it has all your character appearance data (and other things that might not carry over to next client version such as UI layout config files and macro files, but doesn't hurt to save them just in case they are compatible).
