we need to fight more mobs like this
When I look at that picture Vero, all I can do was zero in on this:

Can the PS3 version still be upgraded to the PS4 version free of charge? Is there any time limits or requirements for it to be accomplished?
I'm looking to purchase a PS3 copy for $19.99, but would definitely reconsider if it's locked to the PS3 and nothing more.
The archers guild is in Gridania.I dont think I will become a crafter, usually I dont have enough time and patiance for that. lol
About the Marauder stats, I should put exclusively VIT? You mean not a single point in STR? I just allocated my points once (2 in Vit and 1 in STR).
Also, I was thinking about trying an Archer job, can't I buy it at Limsa Lominsa? I couldnt find it there.
It's free of charge and you can do it until 31.12.2014.
Last question regarding the upgrade: Do I actually need to have access to the PS4 to initiate the upgrade or is it all through Square-Enix's Mog Station?
I know I have to have logged in at least once on the PS3 account.
I'm mainly asking since I'm looking to add the PS4 preorder code for the bonus items.
It's done via the Mog Station.
The archers guild is in Gridania.
For points you should be VIT only, but you can change them later and I doubt a single point in STR will cause problems as you level.
Excellent, thanks for your help!
Each class is specialised in one thing. In your case, your specialty is survival, so it makes sense that you'd dump all the points in VIT.Yeah, I believe 1 point may be completely ok. But its good to know this, now otherwise I would end up allocating about 1/3 of my points on STR.
The same rule applies to every job? I mean, any class may have allocated just one type of atrributes?
You're welcome. :>
I went through the process myself and it wasn't difficult at all (and I don't own a PS4).
But bear in mind that you can't play the PS3 version anymore after the upgrade.
Thats good for me! Makes things easier! Each class is specialised in one thing. In your case, your specialty is survival, so it makes sense that you'd dump all the points in VIT.
Damage dealers and healers do the same with the most useful stat for damage/healing.
Anyone high level rolling a tank with a controller? I'm doing okay right now, but I can feel the limitations with trying to switch between communicating and holding threat/targeting when I'm in groups. It's fine now(I've got some helpful macros), but I can sense it may become too much in higher levels due to increase in difficulty.

Playing PLD on a control at high levels is faceroll easy. WAR is a tiny bit harder, but still easy. Honestly, if you're experienced and know your job, playing any job on a controller is fine even in the most difficult content. Stop worrying about it and just make sure you know the ins and outs of your job. You will be fine.
Thanks for the advice. Can you elaborate further? I'm lvl 21 MRD right now and things seem to work well with a controller
I wasn't aware of these shortcuts, thanks a lot!cultureculture said:Yep (WAR here). I find the shortcuts for cycling through enemies pretty nice:
R2 + L1 / L2 + R1: Cycle visible targets (you can do this with extended hotbars up if you're dexterous)
L1 + Up/down: Cycle through engaged mob list
I use these extensively. Invaluable when spreading an enmity combo.
I've never used a mouse/keyboard set-up so I'm pretty comfortable with the controller. The only thing I've struggled to target is individual moogles in a Thornmarch Extreme, but I should probably just get good at the PS4 touchpad for that. It's an edge case anyway.
Communicating with a keyboard at the same time is hard for sure since you need both hands on the controller.
As long as they keep microtransactions to cosmetic or optional stuff...it's okay, I guess? Not a fan of the extra retainers being microtransactions though.
The reason I bought the game was a decent MMO with a lack of microtransations, this is a downer.

Does this work on an account basis? As in, if I buy PS3 and upgrade to PS4, can I or someone else still use the PS3 disc as long as we use a different account? Or does it somehow flag the disc as unusable despite who plays it or what console it is in?
Fairly sure it's an account thing rather than disk oriented.
You could sell it, but the disc is basically pointless.Doesn't that mean that the disc could then be sold? Perhaps without a free 30 day sub or a upgrade code but still, seems weird.

The transfer service costs $18 and you do it via mogstation

This is a digital game, the disk is simply an installer so you don't have to download it, nothing else.Doesn't that mean that the disc could then be sold? Perhaps without a free 30 day sub or a upgrade code but still, seems weird.

Ok, but if it can install it, doesn't that mean that all they'd need would be a subscription? If sold at a lower than MSRP price, buying a used disc would still be cheaper correct? The initial entry price would be lower than normal correct? Seems like a weird oversight...

Takes more patience to level a job than any of the crafts. The levels fly by quickly if you use repeatable tradecraft levequests and hand in high quality items (twice the XP/gil reward), provided you have enough leves stockpiled.

Was there any word on when the next mini-patch was coming out? (2.28 I think? SE does their patch numbering in such an odd way) I'm told I should be expecting the next relic upgrade quest then so I figure I should plan out having my animus weapon done.

On last night's live letter, they said 2.28 is coming "in May." That's as close as we've gotten.
All that shit on the screen, geezus.we need to fight more mobs like this

That 16-bit video SE did with everyone fighting Titan Extreme, that just played out almost exactly for me today. Joined a PF group which was started by members of another FC. One of their healers was really, really bad. Each attempt, they were basically dead b/f heart or shortly afterward. We got the 25% echo buff so the ones who could stay alive basically carried out the phases after Gaolers.
We down Titan and guess what drops, the Nightmare whistle. Never in the many extreme attempts I've had has this whistle dropped. But, guess who gets the roll. The healer who was dead since Heart stage and basically didn't carry their weight at all lol. I think SE must pity those who make a valiant effort but fail so horribly. No derpgoon, but was just as funny to me.
Square tends to skip a few numbers at a time when itcomes to those third digits. Before 2.25, we were playing 2.21 or .22 for a couple weeks.
My guess is that this is to account for very minor bug patches.
So I just got the game and I'm loving it. What stats should I put into archery?
Dumb question, how do you level up? Am I supposed to go somewhere?

Those versions exist, but are internal. Most likely they have planned their development in short sprints regardless of the releases, so when the time comes they have two or three patches done. They could still be sensical about it. Anytime I have to download something, we increase by one: 2.21, 2.22, 2.23, etc. etc. Anytime I have to download something that is a major contant patch, skip forward to the next big number: 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, etc.
Edit: I'm waiting for them to announce a big expansion with a level cap increase and then call it 2.6 or something.
