Is the DQX event next month worth checking out? I only ask because my subscription will run out days before the event begins and I had planned on taking a necessary break from the game
It's a repeat event and fairly quick to complete. It rewards a brick golem minion and the quest gave me a little chuckle but I hardly think it would be worth a month sub all by itself.

Lol i REFUSE to believe this. Animations alone make it impossible to not notice a difference. They are either lying to themselves to justify staying on PS3 or they are legally blind.
Once they drop the lock restriction from Second Coil, Sands of Time will be ridiculously easy to obtain [assuming those trying can clear Turn 8/9].
They just need to remove that lock. But yes, that likely won't happen before 2.4.
And by then Sands will also be obsolete as the gear treadmill continues and there will be something just as rare as Sands in 3rd Coil of Bahamut
People have been doing that for awhile now but unless they straight up lock away certain jobs, I can't imagine most abiding by the rules lol.
In 2nd coil? 1st coil sure, but 2nd coil? Unless you're desperate for a clear . . .

Finally got around to clearing Crystal Tower last night. It wasn't anywhere near as trolly as I was expecting (the main reason that I avoided the place). Circus Tower is now unlocked as well, so can finally start doing that once in a while.
Wound up trying Twintania in DF late last night for laughs. Of course, the group didn't get very far (made it to snakes, but that's about it), but it was nice to at least take a gander at some of the early stages of the fight. About the only thing that annoyed me was that the MT and the other healer kept LoSing themselves at a decline toward the edge of the arena, so I had to run all over the place to heal them properly.
May start seeing about slapping together ad-hoc FC groups to futz around in T5 in the evenings for people who want to bang their head against Twintania for a bit. Probably go a little better than DF.

If you're getting to snakes, you're more than half way there. There are only two phases after that, and one of those phases is herp deep easy.
PF is better though, especially if you can assemble largely the same team a couple times. It allows you to go straight to practice without having teach up many less experienced players.

Now that I just have to wait on my FC to progress my WHM, what's a good way to level secondary classes? I have a level 41 Paladin so far but it's mostly been dungeon spamming with some escort leve abuse. Is that all I can really do?

i finally managed to beat Twintania this week. Felt so good, but now the real grind begins lol. I started atma farming for my bard, and im also leveling up a paladin. just hit 30 with gld and am now leveling up the cnj which is kind of a pain since i speced my chocobo to be a healer so i cant tank mobs and fates with him. i do look forward to the insta ques coming my way though.

To add to the other posts, you can also do hunting log and challenge log too. Doing low level roulette once a day gives good exp.

Man I'm done with this game. Finally get all my crafters up, I just got my i110 Gerolt's Masterwork tonight, and what happens? My entire FC is gone, just left to another server.
This was my only free company, became good friends with them, and they're gone. Family and RL friends are on Coeurl and I'm not moving. This is the second game where this type of thing has happened to me. I can't believe it.

Had a nice learning group with a bunch of GAF folks and a few others against Twintania. Was impressed with how well we did. No clear yet, but got to twisters on the last go. Granted I died there because I was so happy to hit that phase that I got distracted. =p
Any tips for SCH heals during the transition to that phase that can help mitigate the damage coming in? Folks were standing on the neurolink, and I tried to get sacred soil and succor up, but HP still got really low with that massive blue explosion. Is it always like that and I just need to have Eos' group HP regen ready to heal people up after?
In any case, it was fun. Hopefully we can get a few regulars as a core to try and get her down. =)
