Um, no, it doesn't make any difference. Having 600 doesn't make it any easier, besides being able to press the button earlier.
The only number that'd help would be getting to 630+, so you can add a 50GP +5% gather buff at the start to remove misses, but the gain is extremely low for something that's going to require 400k+ worth of melds and materials and food everytime you gather(or no food if you cap GP on offhand too). It's especially useless when you can gather even 2 star without any of these. There just isn't any nodes currently that warrant wasting that much money on gathering gear, kinda like how the supras are not really worth it for gathering. If you have money to burn and you really don't know what to use it on though, then you might as well max everything from the start, that's a given. If you only want to get some money/the forager stuff, then you don't really need to go all out and can save yourself some money. I don't think going inbetween is a good idea though, you either max melds(which give a lot more than 600), or you don't meld GP at all.
Just a quick FYI, looking for a few replacement members for the Coil static I recently formed. I know almost everyone here already has groups they run with, but, if anyone on Ultros is friends with a healer or Bard that would like to get some Coil experience, I'd appreciate it if you let me know.
Also, does anyone know of a good brand of print on t-shirt iron on's? Yeah, I know that isn't what they're really called, but the exact name escapes me.
I would like to create a GAF shirt for the upcoming fan fest, but I haven't exactly some this before.

So, what's the most useful (profitable?) retainer class to level? Already got one regular job, and want to get a second one going with a land job.

Botanist Shard spam or high level battle job + quick explore and pray, from what I could tell.
At least on my server, everything is pretty much useless.

Once in a while something is worth money due to shortage so you can run specific ventures for the item and get some money but yeah it's not very consistent.
Fisher has Silver Shark that's not too bad, but even with the max gathering for retainer stuff you only get 3, so it's not great. Red Coral sells sometimes too, and shortage can be on Bouillabaisse fish(I sold a bunch of razorclams for 1k each this weekend for example).
I had botanist but dropped it and relvling as miner. Mining can do Electrum Ores ventures at least, and I tend to go through electrum pretty fast. Shards otherwise. Botanist didn't really have anything I found useful/that was worth anything besides shard.
Combat retainer I'm not too sure, you can quick venture but you can do that with any retainer, and they don't really bring much that's that great. Raptor skins/sinews and Boar skins is about all I use them for. Those can also sell for decent money at times, but not always.

Every so often you can hit the jackpot on quick exploration, one day my retainers each brought me back a piece of gryphonskin (I think it was) armor that sold for around 85k each.

I think the best I got in a quick exploration while leveling up was a surprise 200,000 xp exploration shortly before I hit 50.
Well, I'll occasionally get an item worth 100k or so, but nothing nearly as lucrative as I'd get back before Ventures were entirely nerfed.
Back when Ventures were entirely random, and essentially everything in the loot table could be acquired through Quick Ventures, it felt like I'd get items worth 200k plus quite frequently.
Then, they took some of the higher value items off the loot tables, and tied your chance of getting high value items to your retainers ilvl.
Again, useually I get something worth selling on a semi regular basis, so it's still worth it.

Right and I run them, but as far as I know every class has the same quick exploration and the main difference is gearing them up to get the maximum potential, so when choosing which class to get quick exploration isn't necessarily a factor unless gearing is an issue with some of them. Personally since I only started playing again recently, I don't have the gear to get ilvl80 on my combat retainer for example, but it only took me a few days of farming and some money to meld my gathering set to get forager and have enough gathering for max rank ventures with my gatherers.
For the rest, well you don't make that much money out of it, but you can get consistent small amounts. If you can do ventures often, they add up decently. Oh and obviously next patch the rare dyes are coming, so there's that.

Is it ok to join "farm" PF parties if I haven't cleared that content yet, but I know the fight? It's so tempting when there's T5 on the list, and they only need 1 more healer... and I get scared they'd kick me right away.
I know...
It's generally looked down upon. Farm implies you know the fight and want to continue getting multiple clears.

Botanist can bring you Floss Silk, I've gotten 5 since the XIV Exploration came out. I usually put my Botanist & Miner on Crystal duty and my 2 Hunters on Fleece / Snurble Tufts and Raptor Sinew.
People do it all the time, if you're a fraud you'll get kicked

So what's the preferred way to come by Savage Aim/Might IVs these days? i90 accs... really are too expensive for their own good and not easy to sb.
They aren't guaranteed IV tier materia anymore either, so you're -probably- better off sbing 46+ equips the old fashioned way.

Do the daily low level roulette and dungeons in general.
Challenge log and spamming battleleves are nice supplemental XP as well.
Low level roulette, guildhest roulette, plus a few dungeon runs should get you that?
I don't think it gets any faster than that.

I reactivated (60 days) my account yesterday (and there was ~3.6Gb patch for PS4). Earlier played one month in PS4 lauch, Iam now nearing 20 level (atm lvl 17). If I remember correct lvl 20 is limit to first instance?
Are there GAF people at Zodiark (looked first post, didnt see).

Ive played a lot WoW earlier (~9y ago). so the core mechanism is not new to me. But are there some important things to know when going to instances in FFXIVARR? (Like general rule: Avoid taking aggro (let the tank keep aggro) dont spam so much spells that youre the target of mobs & without mana).
Iam not a member in FC, are there GAF based Free company to join in Zodiark?
Can I transfer my character to another server (without real money) basically Ultros in my mind?
So far gaming has gone okish, doing levequests & using duty finder & doing normal guild & other quests. But you know, alone its quite boring, thats why I like duty finder (even thought cant access to instances yet). Also I have used PSVita for remote play (when doing Weavering).
Edit: Browsing here http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/playguide/db/duty/ and I just notice that lowest dungeon is from lv 15, another one 16 and one 17. Good good, now to find those places.

We know all of the (lesser) primals by now. The dev team seems to be slotting in other well-known FF creatures in as dungeon bosses (Siren, Diablos, Kraken) so Fenrir isn't particularly surprising.

You're honestly early enough in the game you could just reroll if you wanted. Being in Ultros GAF has benefits that might make it worth it (specifically a pretty large player pool that can assist with player questions/all things crafting/the tougher or less popular instanced content. And Drama's socialist garden of free chocosnacks) and level 17 isn't too much to have to redo if it makes your experience from 18 on more fun.

This. To be honest, you're better off just starting over on Ultros. GAF FC is helpful and large. Leveling to 20 is nothing, the game doesn't even start until you hit 50 anyway.
