Just bought this for PS4 and damn, I'm really enjoying this. It works so good! Can't wait to be level 10+ since that seems to be when the game really opens up.

I'm very impressed.

For some reason watching some players hop around like bunny rabbits annoys me. Especially when they start hopping over and through my character repeatedly. I wonder how many players just jump when they need to? ie: when there's a rock or fence in the way etc.

Yeah I imagine this is a pretty dumb thing to find annoyance with.

Out of 3 new dungeons boss, Yeti is the most fun for me. Dat snow balls lol

Don't wanna break your excitement but the game opens up after you hit lv50 but the main stories from lv1-50 is the most memorable part. Take your time :)

When should the tanks swap in Shiva? 4 stacks, less, more?

That's not how that works.
The stacks are a debuff for the opposing weapon--sword gives a debuff increasing staff damage and vice versa. Having 8 stacks of a debuff is fine, you just tank swap when the opposing weapon comes out. Generally first swap depends on the weapon she pulls out post-adds, then tank swaps when she swaps staff or blade. Whoever has her for bow generally just holds her since there's no debuff.

I hop everywhere. Can't stop won't stop.

Qarn HM is awesome.

Sastasha HM is the shitty one.

True. Snowcloak beats all though. Sastasha HM was pretty cool as a dungeon, but the last boss should not have been Kraken.

That being said, Kraken seems like they just didnt know how it should work...it's not challenging or exciting at all.

EDIT: Its funny that earlier that day, I was wishing that XIV had a pyramid themed dungeon with mummies and sphinx type enemies, and bam. Of course I wish it was a little more egyptiany, but i'll take what I can get.

Reaching 42 NIN and I gotta say I'm pretty shocked at how clueless people are.

In a fate party of 8 other NINs I'm the only one rocking Blood for blood and Internal Release, I'm the only one re-upping dancing slash, hell not everyone has a kiss of the buff buffing themselves.

Additionally, what is with this trend of sitting comatose in between fate pops.

Mobs at lvl40 give at least 200xp + per kill. If you are waiting for a fate for 2 min a party of 8 could almost definitely kill at least 10 in that amount of time. Giving 2000 xp that would otherwise have been spent doing nothing.

That's not even mentioning chain bonus.

Whatever. Rant over.

My T6 attempts using the PF have been completely disastrous. There's always that one guy
(me, sometimes, I admit)
that messes something up that was otherwise going well and makes everyone ragequit. One group even got Raff to 4% once, but after a few more attempts everyone gave up. Not sure if I want to try it again.
I wasn't intending on doing "hardcore content"/raids when I subscribed but, for me, there's nothing else that looks interesting. Yet, less than 1 week into the patch and all I can do is the DR Expert, which feels like... work. 2.2->2.3 was much better for me, since I was still catching up. Now I'm just losing interest. :/

Is sever location tied to account location? I'd like to make an NA account but I live in Japan so would probably prefer playing on the JP server, if only for a better connection.

Your account region doesn't matter, just choose a Japanese server. Most JGaffers are on Durandal and Yojimbo.
Remember that you won't be able your NA account with Japanese time cards and that you have to buy the game/expansion (when that comes out) from the same region as your account, so the Japanese retail version codes won't work.
If you're planning to play on a console, you have to start the game from an account from the corresponding region as well, so if your main account is JP, you'll have to switch to a NA one.

Noted, thanks.

Got off JP PSN account and linked my NA PSN account with NA SE account. Console and tend to buy things digitally so region stuff should be fine.

Durandal and Yojimbo, ok. I've heard Tonberry is okay as well for random EN players on a JP server. IIRC there's a fee to transfer servers, so any logic to choosing one of those, or just whatever?

Choose the one which has people you want to play with. If you want to play alone and group with randoms, any one of those is fine. You can do a server transfer for $15 or something like that.

How's that P2W when all the best stuff is BoP and can't be bought anyways?

Because melded 110 crafted gear is better than any of the gear that came out of the last tier or even better than certain 120 pieces, which makes it p2w if they allow you to sell items you bought with real money and make gil to buy said gear.

They also don't do anything about people selling runs which in time would mean people could buy their way into Coil 3 and potentially get gear that they have no place getting otherwise.

Hi everyone,

Been playing since start and it's been great. Haven't been this excited over an MMO since the first 4 years of WoW and I've pretty much tried most of the MMOs since. Been a guildmaster / officer in most games I've played. Usually play tank / healer. Still playing FFXIV ARR actively and I don't see myself quitting anytime soon. However, I find myself in a situation where it's difficult to get myself into raiding with my current (and currently first and only) guild.

So, I'm looking for a guild and I wonder if anyone would know one that would suit me:

- Gf
- Job
- Other hobbies
- European timezone
- English / Finnish

Regardless, I'm able to put a lot of time into the game. I'm looking for a guild that has a active community (beyond FFXIV too even) and the average age would preferrably be around 30. For raiding I expect people to focus and put 110% to the effort... you know, focus without taking things too serious. Basically, I'm looking for a group of people who are laid back and active, and who know how raids and raiding works without any of the drama - as I'm too old for that sh*t.

Thanks,

Fishing for the ninja betta is weird:

It's only a double mooch, but the fail state of the second mooch is catching another assassin betta. So if you HQ the failure, you end up in this infinite loop until either nq or ninja.

I've been seriously thinking about getting this game for my PS4, and I have a couple of questions.

1 - I'm probably going to grab the PS3 version and use the free upgrade to get the digital PS4 version. Does that still work? And would I still get the 30 day trial code if I purchase the digital edition of the game instead of the physical copy?

2 - Should I go with the Duskwight Elezen or the Keepers of the Moon Miqo'te. Such a hard decision! >.<

Works until Dec 31 2014, so yes. And yes, you will get the 30 days.

I don't understand any of this.
