Hmm, I could never get a Gilgamesh DF to happen on JP server so maybe lol.
I've been playing on Japanese servers (Durandal/Yojimbo) from the beginning as a BLM and aside from long waiting times at certain hours, I had 0 problems with DF.

Maybe JP just don't like Greg.

Yes, I want gear by doing something other than spamming dungeons. Add harder hunts, or something. Just because they think the only way to do "hard" content is with dungeons just shows their lack of imagination. Heck, FFXI even knew that it't hardest content could be done though both instanced and non-instanced events.

You're getting gear by capping poetics every week.

Yeah I think this is more to do with my misplaced assumption on how Duty Finder works. I didn't realise the region filter in DF wasn't actually a region filter. Just a language filter that pairs you with people who speak the same language(s) relevant to your own data center / cluster.

So in actual fact, I have no idea what the Japanese playerbase' habits are for DF / PvP.

I just find this games way of making a lot of the content, besides coil, as a way to get gear only good for a glamour a little assbackward.

So my Static farmed Shiva Extreme last night and it took like 15+ clears to get a bloody Aiming bracelet for our Bard. Holy shit. We've gotten one of
Everything now except the elusive Shiva Pony. Speaking of does anyone actually have one yet?

ya'll are speaking a different language to me. I just hit Level 30 and got my Dragoon class.

I got a skill called Jump that looks cool. I want a helmet that doesn't make me look like a human cannonball.

I was there once, not understanding half the convos here or in FC chat. You'll get it eventually. It really is like a whole different language.

I feel like I've seen 6-8 aiming bracelets at this point. Which I guess is good since ninja needs them too, but it seems overkill. I've got the bracelet and bow, have had an ice tear and diamond tear drop, but haven't seen an effing pony.

I haven't seen anyone with a Shiva pony yet.

Anyhow, farming Shiva seems to be a heck of a lot easier than farming Ramuh. I mean, tanking the fight does take some getting used to, but once you have it down its a reasonably easy fight. Furthermore, weapons being a guaranteed drop makes farming the fight a lot more rewarding.

I mean, heck, this weekend I got the fending bracelet, the shield, and the ice brand, all of which were actually upgrades for one class or another.

Contrast that with Ramuh, where it took me months to get my fending ring, and the only weapon I ever won the roll on was the shield.

Long story short, Shiva is a heck of a lot more rewarding, and I suspect it'll get easier yet as people gear up.

Yeah sometimes I feel lost looking through the discussions also (lvl 36 Bard). I will get there eventually, but for now I am just enjoying the ride. Leveling up every class at the same time sure doesn't help matters, that's for sure.

Saw someone on Excal with the horse and the barding.
...It's a horse alright. I don't know what to say about those drops other than I want them eventually.

I still don't understand half the convo's in the FC chat.

For a ridiculously long time I thought I'd accidentally blacklisted somebody because FC chat was full of half discussions or answers to questions nobody asked/people asking for invites to nothing.

Can't get the whole story unless you are in mumble too.

I did accidentally b-list Tiduz one though for a couple days. I think he must have gotten sacrificed in place of a gil seller somehow.

Hunts are actually decently hard now that no one does them, the As in particular. Which is kinda nice actually, since I can get full credit with my WAR alone (it's really annoying the game kicks you out of DF if you get in a party or even summon a chocobo, but oh well), while DF is trying to find a match for my Rogue in Low Level Roulette. It only took like an hour an a half last night for my first dungeon with my Rogue, smh.

Doing Expert Roulette with the option to join in progress is definitely a gamble. Joined on a group when the healer had broken all his equipment and replaced it with ilvl 50 stuff or worse. Less than 3k HP, fun though. Wiped a bunch on the wasp lady on Qarn.

I take it spamming dungeons is the best way to get poetics? Not loving that.

Well it took me 25 clears to get the Ramuh ring now healing bracelet won't drop, it's Fending after Fending.

Not that it's even very good.

Eh, Fending bracelet is two DPS stats, that's fine for Off Tanks, even if Accuracy Determ would've been better for that purpose.

Greetings, everyone.

We received a comment from the development team that I’d like to share in regards to the amount of Allagan tomestones that can be earned from content in Patch 2.4.

The amount of tomestones is not only connected with content difficulty and rarity, but they’ve also been adjusted based on the calculations of the total amount yielded from all of the new content released in patch 2.4.

With the addition of the new Allagan tomestones of poetics in Patch 2.4, we’ve made overall balance adjustments to the amounts of tomestones earned, and the following was envisioned for the beginning of Patch 2.4.

•The Hunt would be content where players collect allied notes and enhance their equipment.
•Allagan tomestones of poetics and soldiery would mainly be collected via instanced dungeons and Crystal Tower.

Due to this, in order to fit the content difficulty in Patch 2.4, The Hunt only yields a very small amount of poetics from only S rank marks while soldiery has been set as a bonus, and the main currency to collect for this content is allied notes.

When it comes to the balancing of content rewards, however, after a patch has been released we are continuously checking data for how much each type of content is being played and how many rewards are being earned. Based off of this data we will continue to make adjustments as we move forward.

The current values are not a permanent thing, and we will also continue to make adjustments based off of everyone’s feedback.

tl;dr: Fuck your hunts

Shiva also makes you want to kill yourself a lot let because the fight isn't long and measured, and instead of that is a fun aoe dodging ice sliding puzzle platformer.

I'm pretty sure Ninja body is also T13. RIP.
Why you do dis to me, Maple.

Oh, the ice move is quite insidious. I've heard it compared to Blighted on T6, but in reality it's a whole lot less forgiving, (Quicker cast, shorter broadcast animation, etc.)

It mainly just asks you to stop being twitchy though, so it's actually a good mechanic to throw in there for people that struggle with twitchiness.

Ice is less forgiving than blighted? Blighted is an instant kill (except for tanks sometimes) and ice just makes you slide and half the time people just go ice skating to the other side of the arena, not into the wall. I think blight is the less forgiving one there.

tl;dr Play the way we want you to play.

If hunts were designed better, sure, but they're just zerg fests that kind of invalidated any other content in the game for time spent vs reward during 2.3. I feel their Allied Seal reward vs i100 cost is a bit out of sync especially for new people trying to catch-up now since fresh 50 -> i100 is way harder than old i90 was.

I also don't think hunts should ever be really be associated with fresh, current content. 0 Poetics on them is fine (and the meager S Rank one is lol). Still being sand/oil gated for i110 is fine.

Would you like me to deliver your carbontwine on a pure platinum platter or will a golden one suffice?

Is not not possible for them to make harder hunts? Not possible for them do do more higher level solo content so I am not forced to find a static If I want to keep up with gear in the game?

I'll agree with them that it was way to easy to cap sol on hunts, but now it's impossible to cap poetics on hunts. No one is going to see 45 S ranks in a week. Basically, the players didn't use hunts the way the developers wanted them to, so the players must now pay for not doing it their way. There was certainly a middle ground to be found, but they went with the "play our way or fuck off" approach.
