On the Expansion time-table, honestly I have some mixed feelings here.

On one hand, getting new classes, regions, and laaaaarge story chunks on a yearly basis, would be really nice. Plus, it'd give them more oppertunities to make major changes to how things function, which would be good.

On the other hand, Coil being broken into three parts has given it a certain degree of gravitas. I mean, between how long people have been working on it and all that. I have a hard time seeing a two part raid having that sort of impact, not unless each tier ended up being significantly larger than any of the three coil tiers.

Buuuut, what do I know. This is my first MMO, and I'm sure the devs have thought about this more than I have.

I mean, it looks bad not having anything substantial to fill the hotfix page but maintenance is still maintenance. I don't see the issue here.

story and content has already been planned up til 3.5

Seems pretty likely there will be three parts to the raids again if there's the same number of major patches.

Yeah but as said previously, the math doesn't add up. 3.5 means 15months, plus 3months to actually do the content in 3.5, that's 18months, or 1 year and a half. That's not one year. Now you could say, maybe they'll patch faster than every 3months, if they didn't actually also say they're going to keep patching every 3months. So like it's fairly confusing.

I don't really know if it's the translation or if they actually don't have any fucking idea what they're doing, guess we'll hear more about it later on. I do think the 3 parts stuff was nice, but at the same time you do want ample time for people to clear the content, the current cycle might be a tad slow(6months between coils), but I don't feel like 3months is a particularily good amount either, a lot of people take longer than that to clear content. Plus it creates issues for your last tier if there's only 3months before the expansion. Look at FCoB and how many people(myself included) are still progressing through it like 4ish months later. It just invalidates your content too fast.

I guess a large part of the whole thing though is the definition of expansion. Expansions don't necessarily mean level increase. They could release every other expansion with just new classes, new locations, new story, new whatever, but not actually reset progress(but instead offer catchup solutions and shit). In this situation, you could in fact keep the raiding arcs going through 2 expansions each. Like currently, Coil story isn't really linked to the rest of the events at all, lore wise. I mean obviously, it's rooted in the XIV ARR lore and stuff, but you don't have any world event in relation to coil, you don't have the main story mentionning coil story stuff and so on. So it wouldn't be too weird to have a story that crosses over 2 expansions with different themes, since its more or less its own thing.

Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I hope this is a translation error. 18 months is a good time frame between expansions. I could be wrong, but twelve would be rushing it a bit.

Edit: Actually, assuming they release the expansion around May or June, they'd have about an 18 month window until December 2016, and it'd still count as an annual release.

Can anybody tell me whether it is recommended to get Mantra as a Cross Class Skill for my DRG? Can't decide whether it's worth lvling MNK to 42 for that.

How hard is T12 when you compare it to 11 and 10?

It's hard to say, I think. 12 has more tank and healer mechanics than 10 and 11, so there's that part. I think that the hardest part of 12 was/is beating it before enrage since it's a very measured fight, for the most part. However, this late into the gear cycle dps should not be an issue, so it's not that bad.

Maybe 5 Bennus was intended.

It's pretty clear it was considering that if you're pushing 6 then you'll either hit the enrage or die to flames of rebirth in p3(which will happen with 6 bennus). It actually takes some gear to push 4, which going by past fights, is intended that you can skip phases/extra adds as you get more and more gear.

What did they fix last night?
I got 1 alex yesterday, I fucking fell off a cliff doing an alex map and died in a spectacularly pathetic display of skill. I don't think I've facepalmed so hard in quite a while at my own stupidity.

The only change they listed was making Valentine's gear dyable. Hopefully they maintained some of the rubberbanding out of instances, but I'm not holding my breath.

So I guess all things considered we're only 1 minute worse than CL.

And that's with alts and whatever chumps were available in the, like, ten minute set-up period. Restricting to the 'better' statics on their mains, pros only, maybe the difference would have been 30 seconds!

And you took Galen along. That's 5 minutes wasted right there.

Got my third item from WoD last night and a puff of Darkness (which I can't sell unfortunately). I guess I've been lucky with the drops. I wish we could upgrade these items though. Once the carbontwine becomes more easily available this gear will be left behind which cuts down on options for people when gear options are pretty scarce as it is.

[20:01]You obtain a pair of Allagan breeches of healing.
Oh god finally. It was like 35 successful Twintanias.
The suspense of whether I would outroll the other healer (68 to 48) was the buttclench of ages.

Not completely. There are WoD pieces are are potential best in slot gear for the time being. Carbontwine doesn't change that. Even if they aren't clear cut best in slot, there are several pieces that are worthy choices over/in lieu of 130 gear.

Yeah that's true. The WoD stuff is quite good. I think one more piece to boost my spell speed and I'm done with the essentials.

Please tell me you didn't already have a Puff.

No, that was my first puff. I didn't inhale though ha ha! Ta-boom tish! I'm here all week, folks...

Anybody know how fast harassment tickets are dealt with?

Sent one in and I don't want to log off until I talk to an actual person about it.

I think it depends on the severity of harassment and number of people reporting it. I've seen a person engaged mid battle get pulled from an instance yet still show as being in it without a D/C after trolling Crystal Tower back in the day. Pulling bone dragon, Atomos, and behemoth, locking the instance a ton, etc.

Dude suddenly disappeared mid battle, no d/c sign, no disengage from the instance. Never seen it happen before since so I'd imagine a GM picked them up after everyone agreed to file a report.

From general harassment, I don't think I've ever gotten a response tbh.

How hard is T12 when you compare it to 11 and 10?

Harder than 10, about the same as 11, but there's multiple different phases so it takes a bit to get used to every mechanic. Overall not a very hard fight, but there's a bunch of stuff going on. Mostly a healer/tank fight, though more DPS is very helpful to make the fight a lot easier, but for the most part DPS don't really do most of the mechanics. Also a poor display of client/server syncing. Catching Red Fire or passing the mark can be pretty frustrating if you don't get people to stand still so the server doesn't show stuff way off compared to where they really are.

I think T12's difficulty goes down the most as gear/DPS goes up out of all the turns. 4 bennu dream etc etc

You don't really benefit much from increased DPS in T11, and stuff gets awkward in 10 and 13.
