It's me! Hi mom!

If you don't want to spend gil and dont mind gathering your own mats, gather the mats to craft 1 star items and turn them in for seals. If you have some spare gold ore there's a few 1 star GSM bracelets that cost a couple of rose gold nuggets or gather the 3 1 star mats required to make a Madman's Whispering Rod (ALC). Each 1 star turn in is 633 seals regardless of quality and the mats are now priced at 800 seals each so it should only take you a couple of trips to the node before you have enough seals for a book.

Takes a few more than a couple of trips if you do rose gold since it's 6gold ores per bracelet, plus the basilisk whetstones(or 9gold ores if you do the ones without basilisk), and you still pay a bunch of shards/crystals. Also, you're completely discarding the value of the gold ore themselves. They generally sell at 500each, so 3k worth of gold ores, 1k worth of crystals+basilisk egg then the time to combine all of it, and that's not even enough seals to buy a 4k item on the market board(can even buy it cheaper if you wait the right time).

The alchemy turn in is a bit better, it's only about 3k worth of stuff. It's still 3k worth of stuff to have not enough seals to buy a 4k item.

Items you gather aren't "free". You don't pay money for them, but you spend time gathering them and then time to convert them into something usable and more importantly, you're not reselling them for money. That money you're not getting is the real price.

I still can't believe someone raiding FCoB didn't use food. It's like a free equipment slot. Pick up the cheaper 5k food if you have to. Mine costs me 25k per 45 mins, which is expensive. Why I'm broke right now haha. Only thing more expensive is x-potions of strength in your rotation. Which 45 mins of practice should cost what? 5k x 7-8ish?

Shiva is probably up there with Leviathan as a couple of the easier primals, I feel. Maybe others feel differently but I don't think she's that bad once you learn the fight.

The one thing to keep in mind for Shiva EX is that it has a lot of stuff to learn. But, once you do learn them, it's simply a case of reacting to a predictable (within reason) fight. That and there's a lot of room for recovery in the fight as well.

So a lot to learn but learning it really makes the fight a lot easier than other fights.

I killed one of these today and I didn't know they gave poetics.

It's funny to see people dead after hunts. It's not like you can even dodge anything because of all the people on the screen.

Some of the S ranks can wipe the whole server, Mahisha in the mines is the best example of this. If he points that ridiculous poison AoE cone at a tunnel straight on, no one can run out if it in time and it's BOOM HEADSHOT on like 60 people at once.

Hellsclaw is the most hilarious of the A ranks, people have been hunting that Mecha-Hand since 2.3 and they still don't know what to do when it starts casting Counter Maneuvers and at least 10 people still kill themselves to death bashing away when it has Reflect up. Zanig'oh has a similar Reflect but not as comical as Hellsclaw's.

Finally got a group to beat Ramuh EX. How hard is Shiva EX compared to this one

Shiva is a fun fight. There are no bizarre, convoluted mechanics like in Ramuh so you will just be dealing with her and her attacks. I like it because you have to look and observe what she is doing and react since she does mix up her moves somewhat. She hits quite hard though. Most duty finders I've been in don't win though so good luck! Nice music too.

I didn't cap this week. Don't really care at this point since I don't need anymore poetics stuff.

I was 75 off too but same deal here. Hard to care. My main is totally done outside 4 dread drops - body, weapon, legs, and choker (and 1 twine for temp body if legs drop in T12 before T13 body), and my DRG alt is almost done with lazy dread gearing. Just needs dread spear, 1 twine, and 1 neck accessory.

So I've gotten to 38 in the last week or so, but leveling is reallyyyy starting to slow down now.

I'm done with my hunting log for now, so that's not an option until I hit 40 and unlock the last part of it.

What's my best way to level quickly now? Sidequests that award ~9k experience? Dungeons on the duty roulette? What?

Been running hard dungeons and I don't really understand the point of them. I did Copperbell Mines and the amount of trouble for iLvl 60 green gear is pretty bad. I wonder what the point of this is outside of just something to do. Gotta run them all, unfortunately, but I'm not looking forward to it.

Dungeons probably and maybe challenge log. As far as I recall level-appropriate dungeons were the best source for me.

I guess they are kind of hoping you would enjoy them. If you run out-of-date content you will get out-of-date gear.

i think i missed 100 poetics last week. don't know how that happened, but i didn't care much. i'm sitting at 1500 currently. getting another weapon next if i can. otherwise it's just random junk for fun.
