Had a breakthrough tonight. Our static has been having some personnel issues the past few weeks with people not being able to make it due to scheduling and stuff, but tonight we got to 4% in T12. It was especially surprising since it was our new War's first time doing the fight, he hasn't even cleared t11 yet apparently. Our smn had switched to BLM since he got his second zodiac weapon and suddenly we were pushing with 4 adds pretty consistently, even without using a limit break.
Hopefully we can get a clear this week and start working on T13!

Also I finally got my demon tabard of aiming after a frigging month. It dropped for the first time ever earlier today just before the reset and I lost the need roll with a 5. Did 2-3 more runs after that and won the second one to drop. Now I can start capping poetics again instead of just doing the first 2 bosses of WoD and quitting out. Yay :V

I finally started to work in my crafting classes, and I'm actually having fun with it.

In the last 2 days I leveled up all the classes to 15, and I'm going to work on CUL now until 37.

I've searched around for tips on skills to use on low levels but couldn't find anything... So, what should I be using?

As far as I can guess by myself, Tricks of the Trade, Waste Not, Steady Hands, Careful Synthesis and Inner Quiet are important skills. Should I use Rumination? And should I use ToT at every "Good" condition?

Well you can tell how much light you have if you count it. I think there's also 3rd parties to get exact numbers, but generally if you check it everytime you get light until it changes, you can then easily keep track of how much light you have from that point on, as long as you count how much light you're getting.

As for farming light, you just farm whatever primal is bright, or T4. If nothing is bright(or nothing you want to farm like leviathan) you can do FATEs or you can do your CT weekly stuff or EXDR or whatever. As long as you run like a full window of primals, you generally get one tier of light a day or so.

If you're on PC, you can use this program to get an exact number.

I'm on PS4 and that sounds like a ball-ache. Guess I will go with the vague info from the glass.

3rd party program lists exact progress. I'm some 60 bright to completion. Also what I do is look up current brights and repeat them till I go insane.

I guess I need to do more primal farms. I haven't really properly done those yet.

Until you get byregot's blessing (crp 50 cross skill) you should use rumination at 20 durability left if you can enough cp to use manipulation. Inner quiet should always be done as 1st step, tricks of the trade should be done most times you can, except the last quality increase step if you can't get an extra manipulation with it. Also, use steady hands + hasty touch to increase quality.

If you plan to do end game crafting you will never use Rumination that waste inner quite stacks. (One you get byregot's) If a good is up as you have byregots in que and you plan to use it you do not wanna tap ToT. That good will increase the effect of byregots.

I use Rumination for Master II books, lets you use every bit of CP to fish for a good/excelent, and when all else fails, Rumination > Reclaim and try again. Seems a lot more consistent than stopping before the very end, cause an excelent even on a 9stacks is basically 100% so I like it.

But that's a fairly specific case where Reclaiming at the last possible step is the optimal choice, in general it's garbage, though it's fairly useful before you have Byregot to finish crafts. Then again I probably wouldn't bother trying to craft anything serious before getting Byregot.

You get more experience the higher quality you get, so until you reach byregot's it still helps trying to hq stuff. Honestly I don't know if getting byregot's right after getting all classes to 15 isn't better than leveling cul to 37 first.

I used tears to get a Master 2 book. When i'm no longer broke I plan to do more crying again and again.

I used RNG. One HQ at 27% and two excellent on byregot's.

Really depends on the person and thier willingness to embrace the lvl grind.

Yeah, I plan to do end game crafting and I know that once I get BB it should be used with the IQ stacks, but I think I still have some work to do until I get CRP to 50 and I was wondering what should I use until then.

I really should farm Shiva some more. I like the fight and I could use the sword from that.

Been trying to get my weapon off Shiva for a while now. Countless fights later and she hasn't given it up. On the plus side I now have a small collection of ice weapons for a bunch of jobs I don't play so there's that. I also like the fight though so it's all good.

So I've noticed I'm not getting the Soldiery bonus as much anymore when running dungeons with new people. It's happened a few times. Did SE nerf this system? It used to be a guaranteed 100 extra tomes, now it's down to 50 and it doesn't happen all the time. I've been in a couple of Syrcus towers and DREX's with new folks, and no bonus tomes. Anyone know what's up?

The bonus Sold for dungeons isn't 100 across the board. Usually it's like 30-70 or something along those lines. ST I can't explain, maybe they have to be in your 8 man party? Not sure. You don't get Soldiery bonus on new/current content, though. So you won't get that in DREX.

Huh. Interesting thanks. Ah well, I'm almost capped with Soldiery anyway, but it was still odd not receiving bonuses when I thought I should.

I really dislike that the game gives you a buff or DoT then a ton of levels later gives you a trait to extend duration. All this time trying to figure out what fits in the pre-trait window is totally wasted.

So who will be the next person I do a fantasia bet with in a couple days?

Sounds like somebody's looking for excuses to not have to go back to being a Catgirl.

Going back to low level content (fates and dungeons) and not having access to extended Heavy Thrust and ID-DB-CT combo is a pain.

DRG is currently what's pissing me off--I waffle back and forth between trying to figure out what 4 GCDs to use in the Heavy Thrust window given whatever skills LLDR is giving me access to, and just getting fed up and mashing random buttons because this is totally not how the class will play once I get around to getting the trait and second combo. It just seems like bad design and the game encouraging people to learn sub-optimal rotations.

Venom Bite only lasting like 7 seconds level synced is dumb too.

I just remember using whatever pieces of the Thrust combo I had available to me. Apparently people would rather just Impulse Drive spam, but that isn't gonna teach you a whole lot. It's a bit silly that they feed you the Full Thrust combo then give you the Impulse Drive combo at the end of leveling. The DRG leveling rotation versus the final rotation is like night and day.

Chinese servers get a panda minion. What is this injustice!

Singapore people in our static (that is, everybody else but me) were kinda sad about that because Singapore celebrates Chinese New Year pretty actively and we don't get that event on Western and Japanese servers.

Maybe I wasn't planning on going back to being a Catgirl?

Jayhawk just wanted an in to the Lala Mafia and doesn't want to leave seemingly of his own volition so that he can continue to maintain the perks of the Mafia without being a near-useless-flaccid-fisted excuse for a monk.

Also he is Akh Morn.
