I'm struggling to think of unavoidable physical damage Keen Flurry would help with other than meteor streams. Wild Charge, I guess!

I wish there wasn't an extended cooldown when switching classes. I just want to change to a different leveled class when I ride by a certain FATE but it'll be done by the time the skills are useable (._. )

Started making HQ Spicy Tomato Relish for artisan glasses and main hand. It's quite the jump from bouillabasse in terms of challenge, but it's been fun trying to make the stuff. Glad I have pretty much all crafting classes maxed out. Not sure how I'd be able to do the stuff consistently otherwise.

It's cool, I might be totally wrong. Cheating wild charge seems pointless so I've avoided checking manawall against it much. I think the one time I did try I might have been a second late clicking the ability. Who knows.

So, to get Mastercraft Demimateria, I need the Artisan's glasses.
To get Artisan's glasses, I need to trade 10 HQ items which takes 50 to 55 seconds to craft (at least, it takes me that much time to craft one Spicy Tomato Relish).
Then, I need to desynth those glasses, with 80% chances of success, and there is probably 1/4 chances of getting the Mastercraft Demimateria.
So, if I want to try to desynth 100 glasses, I need 1000 Spicy Tomato Relish. I would need to spend 1000 minutes crafting, which is more or less 16.666667 hours of doing nothing but crafting. I would probably lose 1/5 of my desynth, which leaves me with 80 sucessful ones, for maybe 20 Mastercraft Demimateria in the best case scenario.

... Is the guy in charge for the crafting system in FFXIV Pandemonium Warden?

@Sorian: Better?

Rate for Mastercrafts from Artisan's Spectacles is more like 15%.
Desynthesis success chance at 100.0 GSM is 100%.
The items you craft for trade-ins are spammed via macros.
20 Mastercrafts? How about focusing on smaller steps first?

This brought back some memories, with GSM @ lv 100.0 and 100% success, out of 100 I got 23 Mastercraft Demimateria.

Some crafter on Cactuar once reported his findings after blowing up 527 spectacles at level 100. Who knows how many he blew up before getting to 100.0 skill?

Currently stuck at 88.68 in GSM. I don't really know what to desynth which I can get easily and which won't put the final nail in my wallet.
15%? Man, it is worse than I thought.
I do use macros to craft the items. I use 3 different ones to do one craft. I don't think there is a (legal) way to put my character in automatic HQ crafting, is there?
As for the 20 Mastercrafts: well, if I want to get all Supra tools, I need at least 30 of them (counting the gathering ones, minus the rod), and I'm not even talking about the Artisan new stuff which it is now possible to craft, and which requires Mastercrafts.
But, yeah, I think I'm going to focus on Weaver and see what I do from there.

I think I may have desynthed 200 total, I was blowing them up well before being lv 100.00. Cheshire continued beyond his Supras, I had to stop for my sanity.

How many Mastercrafts do you even need? 3 per Supra?

Yup, 3 per Supra. With 8 crafting classes, and 2 gathering ones (minus Fishing, which only needs one), you need a total of 3*10+1=31 Mastercrafts if you want to unlock all the Supras. And, of course, even more if you want to unlock the Artisan gear and secondary tools.

Fisher also needs three, I believe.

Unless you're Cheshire Kat though and have plans to make full use of each profession, there is no reason to have a supra for everything. If the thought of blowing up potentially hundreds of glasses and crafting them sounds like work, then chances are you likely won't be making use of everything so that you'll need a supra in the first place.

It's best to start off with one or 2 and work your way up if you feel like the market is worth it, not worry about everything right off the bat when you didn't have the mats or weapons going into the patch so you could make a place for yourself in multiple markets.

This is how I'm gonna go about it. Given the time needed to get the gear, it makes a lot more sense to take baby steps lest one goes insane. Personally I'm keen to go all in for CUL and WVR. After that, I'm not sure what I may pursue.

I have 2 questions regarding the upgrade from Animus to Novus:
- Roughly how much would I have to spend on Materia if I wanted to buy it all (I know that it varies but server, but a rough estimate is fine).
- How bad is the Alexandrite drop rate during fates?

If you're talkin' crit and det, probably 400-500k a pop for the grade iv. And you need 11 crit and 8 det grade iv.

Alex drop rate is the same as the old at a drop rate, so bad

I'm talking... Spell speed and crit? I'm really not 100% sure what should I aim for as a BLM. But damn, I have 700k total. :x

Would honestly be better to just go after the t9 wep at this point, especially if money is the problem. Novus is not for those who have trouble making gil.

If you look at it this way isn't a Shiva weapon better?

For ilvl 110 ya and it's a lot easier to farm her once you get a good group going. For 115 on the other hand it's either HA or nexus and nexus would require gil spent on novus, where as HA requires a more static group that knows the fight and can farm it.

I'm doing my stardust novus right now and stat wise I'm going for max spell speed at 44, determination 20 and crit at 11. I feel this is the most cost effective setup for me personally as for prices really they vary and have been jumping up and down.

For tier 1 and 2 you're looking at roughly 4-9 k each which isn't bad. Tier 3 you're looking at roughly 15-30k a piece depending on the day I'd say more in the rang or 20-26k each. Tier 4 can go 70k and up, I haven't seen spell speed lower than that. The others you won't make tier III so really just the spell speed.

If you're going for full spell speed and full crit prepare to break the bank imo it's simply not worth it.

I wouldn't waste your time on farming fates for alexandrite. Novus is much tougher now because of the long dps queues so personally I do a full a hunt run and my daily roulettes and a few dungeons right now I'm averaging 3-5 a day when I do them.

So what kind of stats would I need to skip the Artisan's Tool and go straight for Supra?

I wouldn't recommend this route anymore. You're better off trying to HQ all the hand-in items you need for Supra to get the Master Book 2 at the same time. To do that, you'll want the Artisan's Tool.

The struggle to down a Titan EX pug is too real. I should really try out PF.

Are you on Ultros? If so let me know, I'll take you through one of these Friday nights.

Downed Ramuh ex for 4 first timers tonight (at only 5% echo, not too bad) and then beat Shiva ex for the first time myself. Good night, overall.

Before the new offhands you would need everything max melded, birdmen gloves + FC buffs and food. Now I am not sure since the offhands are pretty good. An unmelded Artisian offhand is better than a melded militia so it's substantial. Should be able to at least do it without FC buff now, but I am not sure on the value proposition of melding the old gear, or even the Supra in particular. I'd worry about getting the new offhands first at the very least.
