Could someone advice me here about the relic.

I've stopped at Bravura Animus and i got like 10 Alex on my retainer, how much time and money will i be spending to get to the last step?

Lets say a budget Novus with acc/det/crit.

Any estimation?

Also with the expansion coming, will it be wise..!?

I'll say removal of WoD lockout is a given, echo on Final coild probably. Unlocking final coil however is tricky, too much time before expansion, but also no more chances to do it before then.

Part of me is also just thinking about what they could add in the final patch.

Story stuff is a given. Poverty Encrypted Tomestones is a given. (I'd be shocked if they didn't considering twines in the gift quest). What else? Relic is done. No more Raids (24 man or coil style). Golden Saucer is implemented.

So only thing I can think of is WoD lockout removal and making FCoB easier/unlocking it. What else can they add before the expansion?

Could someone advice me here about the relic.

I'm still on Animus books and going to get my relic all the way up before the expansion lol. Not sure how much time and money though.

But if you get one relic all the way up, you'll have one of the best weapons for your class (outside of maybe a Coil weapon) to start the expansion with. That's always nice. (and a title, Z)

I'd say about 3 weeks working on it. Alex is easy to farm now on fates and sold so it shoudn't take more than 4 days. Gil for that build would depend on how much materia you have already but 5-6 Million should do. Then a novus light that was buffed, the dungeon atma rng, and the last step is easy.

But if you get one relic all the way up, you'll have one of the best weapons for your class (outside of maybe a Coil weapon) to start the expansion with.

You'll actually have the best weapon for class, depending on build, and you can change the weapon stats latter so it has some flexibility. Also, I think they say people with relic now will be considered on expac, so the expac relic should be easier to get.

Money, around 2millions total for the novus and the zodiac step or so, maybe less I haven't checked every prices lately. You'll be making some money doing various stuff though, even if not that much, so the real cost would probably be like 1-1.5million. In time it kinda depends on how many hours you play a day and how dedicated you are to the process. Assuming 4hours a day every day, 1week per step seems reasonable, with some steps maybe taking longer.

So 1week Novus lots of hunts to grind for alex, or fates whichever you hate least, A ranks seems pretty dead nowadays though so it would be pretty quick to farm it that way with double seals drop with an investment of around 600-800k or whatever for the materias, might be more might be less, markets on lower materias is unstable depending on people doing their relics and buying everything out or not.

1week of light grinding for nexus, potentially less if you get good windows a lot when you play, sadly with the windows not lining up with zeta I think so can't use PF to find good groups for that, or at least I don't think you can. Can also take a break here and kinda relax farming it slower just playing the game doing random stuff if you want, since most activities reward light.

1 solid week of grinding zodiac, RNG being RNG, you might need more or less. Average is around 90dungeon runs I think. You'll need a bunch of money for that step too, like 400k for vendor items and then about 60-70k per crafted item(buying the mats and getting someone to make them, otherwise more like 200-250k per item) x8, but running dungeons also makes some money back, probably around 250-300k, potentially more depending on your luck in WP for example or wether or not you can desynth.

Then 2-3days of grinding light again for Zeta. An easy step.

I wasn't sure on how well the Coil weapons stand up to the relic but fair enough.

When I'm not doing animus books, I'm farming Water Clusters to sell to help with my Novus lol. I only have about 1m just now though.

I'm actually looking forward to the Nexus step to take it easy and then the atma dungeon grind because I can use any other class apart from the one I'm doing it for. :D

Oké I'm out, not doable for me. Not gonna spend that much while a T13 clear will happen soon. Better yet I never had more then 2 mil lmao.

Can't believe its that much for some III materia.

Well you can just check the prices, you will most likely need 2 more than the actual amount required per tier due to failures, but I don't think it's that much. Iirc crit/det II and III were like between 20 and 40k each, and you need 11crit and 8det per tier(7 for first det tier), +2 each for failures, x2 for both tiers, assuming 30k price average 1million and 380k. Then you add like 200k for accuracy and tier 1s or whatever.

Honestly all it adds is a few days of spiritbinding to make money. If you're scared of farming for 3-4days for money, then the relic grind is definitely not for you.

T13 is a good alternative, but realistically, you could run it from now until the expansion release date and never see the weapon you use. Pretty sure some people have been running it since like the first month of 2.4 and still haven't seen some of the weapons drop. Ironworks is pretty much the good easy to get weapon. The stats might not be optimal/might be complete garbage though, but it's i130 and it's very easy to get for anyone in a static since it's a guaranteed drop every week, some poetics and a twine from the CT weekly.

Prices may have dropped now, crit and det 3 were costly for a while because of melded gear. And I always round up.
Note that I've included with it the price of the relic materials, you can ask people to desynth and make them for you so they cost almost nothing that way.

If he only goes to the end of level 3 on crit and set and the rest acc it'd barely cost anything, nowhere near the numbers you guys are quoting.

This relic grind just sounds so absolutely absurd compared to the original relic quest and subsequent +1 upgrade.

I'm not even gonna bother with it. Just gonna have my SCH use their weathered book and WHM use Thyrus Zenith for the near future.

Yeah up to tier 3 is pretty cheap. Max I paid for the tier 3 was 40K each I think...

So what are the items that everyone's saving up for in gold saucer? I'm saving up for the hairstyle and the mounts first, and then I'll worry about the glamour armor and weapons.

I find it just a bit irritating that the grade of materia doesn't matter in the sphere scroll. Grade I, II, III, it's all going to give +1 to the stat. That savage might IV materia with +4 DET? +1.

Yeah it's rough. So you are basically paying 500K for 1 point of a secondary stat. That maths doesn't add up so well.

Time to get choco breeding.
Finished outlining my breeding plan/methods/theory.

I basically plan to breed all stats to 4* with as low a grade as possible (1 male and 1 female).
When you consider that g9 coverings do not seem to grant a significant star advantage, it seems like the better idea since you conserve mgp. I'm basiclly going the slow and steady route which will minimize rng as I won't be using coverings (with coverings, you do not know the stars of the covering choco, just their potential stars. IMO you want to get as far away from using mgp coverings as soon as possible.)

I just hope there is no penalty for inbreeding cause oh boy there is going to be lots of that with what I have planned.

Does any other GAF choco breeders have any thoughts. Maybe have a race to see who can get a perfect chocobo first. It will keep things interesting amoung us choco breeders.?

I haven't even looked at Gold Saucer rewards. I've gotten my ass kicked by NPCs in triple triad, learned why you don't trust Raijinken for wind GATE positioning, and played a couple of dumb minigames.

Glamour stuff, maybe? Is that even dyable? I should find the trade-in guy at some point.

It's worse; SMIV is +6 (and SAIV is +9 crit). So many lost stat points. The issue is mostly that they wanted the alex grind to be the same for everyone--75 infusions, regardless, and since Piety, Det, and everything else have different points-per-rank and caps, the most straightforward way was to just make everything a point.

All of these Zetas and I'm still sporting the equivalent of a Rick Dias.

Winners sit down and watch everyone else get blown offstage.

finally got the fucking bahamut from king elmer

Honestly I'm gonna go with the mindset of I'm just farming him for MGP to get the heartless staff. Getting Bahamut is a bonus

Also until further notice if I see a combination of 1,2 and 3 lined up in mini cactpot I'm going for it.

Love how Gold Saucer feels like a whole new part of the game separate from everything else. I need to get better at Triple Triad. I can see blowing a lot of gil here. :D

Getting the Bahamut card took a lot of farming. I wonder how long it will take me to get the three GC leaders. The grind to 60 cards before the first tournament is serious business.

I had just gotten to 50 on my first crafting class and now I can't stop playing triple triad. I know it doesn't earn me anything useful, but it's too much fun collecting cards.

Is that even dyable? I should find the trade-in guy at some point.

Yes, most of it does seem dye able, the gamblers attire is anyways. EDIT: Just checked, and all outfits are dyeable, but the weapons aren't

My two cents.

I hope they open Coil and WOD about four weeks before expansion. Earlier if they're going to nerf it before the expansion, though I hope they don't do that anytime soon.

Hmmm I should do random. I have more rare and legendary cards than normal cards right now thanks to Zeta grinding. That's a way to get past that 1 rare card limit.

Random doesn't even let you bypass the rare card limit. Can't be having the rule be beneficial in any way.
