So i thought id jump in for the free login week, but after the installation finished and i start the game it tells its uable to connect to servers because of my dns settings (error 11021).
then i read online that it might be because i have the old pre-realm-reborn game. do i actually need the new version or is it something else?
edit: obviously ive checked my dns settings
edit2: nevermind somehow got it to work. now it's asking me for a 20 character registration code that's supposed to be in the box. there's only an 18 character code in my box and it doesnt fit the pattern. im screwed arent i?
edit3: there was no upgrade service for early pc adopters? thats BS.

Just find any GAF person in game, view company profile -> apply.
I don't remember if there was a free upgrade from PC 1.0 to PC 2.0, but it has been a year and a half since 2.0 launched. Even the PS3 to PS4 upgrade is ending next month (should have ended in December but they negotiated with Sony).

It's kind of redundant but Guildwork refers to users as 'characters' and you can link your Lodestone profile to your 'character' which will join the Free Company site automatically.
The thing is that we have a process where we require people to sign up on the website first which makes that functionality useless and since Guildwork usernames (characters) can be any name, we added the 'Character Name' field to capture the actual name of the applicant's player character.
I might edit that application at some point and make that more clear or rename the one called 'Character'.
There was a free upgrade and you could even get locked in for permanent cheaper subscriptions if you were subscribed to the old game during the last 90 days or so. I'm not sure if these promotions have expired or not, but it has been over a year now...

I used a serial code from a retail copy of 1.0 I bought like a year before ARR came out and it worked so maybe it was a time limited thing?
either way I used a 1.0 code to play the game

Yeah there was an upgrade, I used it. I think its expired now though.

You can get unlimited 2* in your deck at 30 cards and unlimited 3* at 60 cards. Random is the only NPC rule that feels flat out unfair as each NPC only has a small pool of cards so random doesnt really matter a fuck to them.

Went ahead and created a sac pull party for DD because I said fuck it and was tired of not getting anything. In the almost 4 hours I had, I had 3 members get get their atma drop.
I got nothing. I'm like legitimately considering bowing out of the zodiac questline. I have to be in the upper 30s of runs on that dungeon alone now. Being on the shitty end of the bell curve is depressing. Not going to bother updating on this anymore here either, I feel like a broken record.
Swap is still fair though in that its drawing from the same card pool for both you and the NPC i.e. the cards in your hand

That sucks. Zodiac step isn't bad on its face, but the RNG aspect is brutal. At least FATES only take a couple minutes.

How does this work? How long does it take?
Tank is ahead of group pulls everything while everyone runs behind tank to boss. Tank stays on boss line barrier while rest move to safe zone. Tank dies the aggro enemies go home and then healer raises tank.
Aye, it's super quick compared to the trudge that is normal DD. Figured doing MORE runs would solve it but obviously not.

Yo man, I enjoyed reading your posts about your Zodiac progress, I started the quest pretty close to the same time as you. I really feel you on the grind, took me 25 AK runs to finally get the item, I can only imagine if I had to do that for a lower level dungeon. I hope it works out for you.

I'm still deciding which server to pick (I'm in EU). After reading the OP, is it fair to say that most of the Europeans here are on Ragnarok? Or is it still Ultros? How are the guilds split? I'm mostly worried about timezones, you see.
Anyway, I'm excited to try out this game. I won't be able to play it a lot, by I hope I can create a solid base while the 30 free days last
