I plan on doing Blighted the same way as before (stop attacking) just to see how many people try to cheese through it without thinking.

Yeah. I'm all for making things accessible, but all this is going to do is teach players bad habits.

"Dark matter hornets will no longer continue to spawn after phase transitions, even when players are afflicted by the Honey-glazed status effect." is probably the only change they actually needed. There's no reason for the other changes on Turn 6, especially coupled with the echo. :\

Some of those changes for Turn 6/Turn 7 seem like overkill. I mean... how do you adjust the damage of Blighted Bouquet?

"Before it was going to kill you! Now it's only probably going to kill you! Aren't we such nice developers?!?"

Actually, Warriors could already survive Blighted sometimes, especially if Thrill of Battle happened to be up at the time. You're right though, the damage is probably lowered to the point where DPS and such can survive with Echo.

Mind you, makes more work for the healers when people derp it up.

I actually survived it as a Paladin, much to the hilarious bafflement of my party members. >_>;

Guess that shouldn't be surprising, less HP but much higher defense with Sword Oath active. Were any mitigation effects active at the time?

Well, either way, yes it's hillarious when it happens, also also, Kagari made a good point earlier, save for the weapons, Coil gear isn't all that valuable anymore. It really doesn't make sense to hide it behind fights that the bulk of the game community considers quite difficult. On that subject though, since end-boss Coil turns don't seem to be as heavily nerfed, they should just make everything that drops on them five ilvl's higher, in the future. XD

Welp, I just cleared T5 in the DF last night so this is good timing for me. ;)

Maybe I can get our FC together to do a run and check out the changes.
A lot of them are already in Final I think.

Wanna hear a good joke? Waste your time helping me! LOL!
Can you still use duty finder (lol) for post 50 primals and 8 person dungeons? I'm approaching end game stuff and think my progress might slow quite a bit since I'm not in an FC or have a "static"

A..at least I can fish.
You can queue for everything but Final Coil I believe. Not sure about the Savage versions.

God damn at these SCoB nerfs. Better for farm, but far more than what I expected.

DFed some T5 for the lulz yesterday as a healer, i110 and 20% echo (how the hell do those people manage to dish out only 250 dps with all that, it blew my mind) just doesn't help with dive bomb ^^ Those will be even more hilarious for DF T9. I was surprised that people only stack 3 for the fire balls now, what a time we live in, I remember the good old days...

It's a bit weird, isn't it? Not the nerf I was expecting, I was thinking they'd do something like change it to a severe paralyse if they were going to stop it from being instant death.

Speaking of weird:
Level 30 job quest requirements have been adjusted as follows:
Before:
Players must reach level 30 with the job’s associated class.
After:
Players must reach level 30 with the job’s associated class, and have completed the main scenario quest "Sylph-management."

Not sure what the problem was here, players with new subs riding FATE trains all the way to unlocking their jobs? Seems a lot less likely to happen than it was at launch.

Holy Mary, Mother of Jesus. Turn six is almost effortless now. Even Dragoons can survive Blighted with nothing more than a succor.

Tried T6. Failed.

Tanks messing up placement and blaming other people before raging did it. Also someone got the whole group devoured twice. (once was a tank who did it, other time, it was one of the DPS).

Still, it's pretty easy now, just gotta get a adequate group to do it.

Like I said, I tried T7 in DF...the group was kinda bad and yet we STILL got to 12 percent on one run and if the healers knew how to esuna, we would have won it easily. Echo+nerfs make that fight way too easy now, especially for a group that knows how to do it. We were destroying adds so quickly...

Maybe I can finally farm T7 and T8 for the gear I'm missing. I think T7 in particular was too much nerfed, either nerf the renauds or voices/shrieks, not both.

I just tried Turn 6 and Turn 7 a few times. All successful despite some wipes while people experimented/clarified on the method they were using. So yeah.... :\

Oh man those nerfs....I feel dumb for trying to do T8 last night. Honestly I'm at the point where I've beaten 6-8 enough that I say Bring on the Glorious Nerfs! Will make helping others clear and farm less frustrating.

Edit: oh nice
An issue during the first boss battle in Snowcloak wherein the Frozen debuff would apply even when taking preventative measures during the action Snow Drift.

I was wondering why I could never avoid that debuff no matter what I did.

Just did T6. It was a 2-shot with 2 new people (got exploded by slugs first time).
Doesn't really feel any different other than people not getting blown up by Blighted.
I mean, it was an easy turn before.

So has anyone tried T9 to see if they stealth nerfed anything?

The nerfs really didn't touch anything that was causing T8 wipes last night, though. The only concrete change I can see would be echo consistently helping you skip fifth towers, and I don't think you need that even double tank because if you can do it when I'm subbing in and occasionally playing Paeon, there's no reason you couldn't do it with your better-geared BLM in there taking advantage of Dark's Foe Req. It felt more like everyone was out of sync than anything (and I think Ramuh later proved this out because OMG Beardman Why), and echo won't fix that. Wasn't a clear night but no shame in trying, and with Nael apparently allowed to continue her reign of terror unimpeded any group practice is probably a good thing.

Renauds hit for 800 HP now. Blighted hits for 3.5k.

I mean, I'm a fan of nerfing all the things, but they went crazy here. Holy cow.

It's nice that Savage still exists for a challenge, I guess, but it's locked behind the one they didn't nerf.

Maybe it's for the best that they didn't touch T9; I'll be depressed if supergolem no longer brings the 100K damage.

The casuals will be happy with this HUGE nerf bat :)

Now they can do 6-7-8 without to much trouble.

Good thing they didnt nerf T9 other then echo.

Insta-death to 800 damage? This is ridiculous lol

How To Kite Renauds in 2.41:

- Tag Renaud with whatever skill whenever you have free time, no rush
- saunter to A marker
- Have WHM drop a Regen on you
- Stand in A marker and get clubbed until voice goes off
- maybe have somebody physick/cure you once or twice, maybe stoneskin if floor goes grape jelly
- Take 10 second nap until Petrification drops off

This worries me:

Really looking forward to this in FFXIV. I'm not sure how tying the FFXIV part into this version with microtransactions is going to work...

Yeah, I saw this and I'm kind of worried too. My expectation of paying a sub for server maintenance and additional content was too naive, i suppose.

edit: this also makes me wonder how well integrated triple triad will be within ffxiv's game world.

I don't think most of our money is going towards Server Integrity either....

A tiny land mass (Japan) has three data centers for this game, we have two data centers to service the gigantic land mass of North America and the European regions. Also they aren't anywhere near convenient parts for most of our populous.

3 centers for Japan
2 centers for North America
1 center for Europe

Not 2 centers for NA and EU. Three for NA/EU, with servers incoming in EU specifically.

To be honest, the servers are probably cheaper in JP than in NA. And the connections are probably just plain better, considering the size of Japan compared to the land mass of NA.
