So, finally went into T10, only to do the trash clear mind you, but we did try punching around Imdogud once. Initial reaction, well it's fun to play metal gear solid in a battle setting, less fun when somebody deliberately triggers the alarm as they run to the launch pad, and leave you alone to deal with the horde. Also wild charge is an interesting, (if albeit easy,) mechanic to deal with, need to watch a video to refresh myself on the rest of the mechanics.

Wanna try going in there again and having an honest to goodness attempt at that boss, I'm ready for new content. XD

T10 is a good turn in that it introduces the mechanics one by one, then brings in difficulty in how they pair the mechanics later on after the second add phase. There's really nothing that can trip you up too hard in the opening phases. I dunno if you got to the tank swap mechanic, but I think it's one of the better ones in the game so far.

is it popcorn time already? damn it's early today

You got any extra four-star popcorn you could share?

Since WolvenOne did not mention adds, I doubt he got to the point where tank swapping was involved in the Wild Charges or the inviting Shadowflares on the ground caused damage.

Shadowflares are bubbles, man! Bubbles! This is just purple poop that He's2gud leaves in his Wild Chargian wake!

No, I got to adds, but by then the main tank was dead, so it was GG. (I did pick up the adds I was supposed to pick up though, figured it would be good practice.)

It was only one single attempt, and I think most the folks there were being pretty casual about it, so that's about as much as could be expected.

Songs only work for your party members unless it's Foe Requiem, which everyone around can benefit from. The MP tick is eventually going to deplete your mana to zero regardless of what song you're playing. I don't believe you get the benefit from Mage's, but you do get the benefit from Army's Paeon. If you're out of battle, natural MP regen is slower than the ticks from Mage's Ballad, so your MP will deplete, just much slower.

Bards do get the effect of their own Mage's Ballad. That's why they can keep it up longer than other songs.

I'm getting kind of bored.

Maybe I'll give some of the other games I've been ignoring for the past year a try.

I never ran the numbers on Ballad, I suppose. It makes sense since they do get their own Paeon benefit. I was also wrong about the mp drain out of combat for Ballad, since I was on the wrong side of it. Technically you'll regenerate more mp than you'll use to cast the song, but it regenerates rather slowly. That should have tipped me off that they do get a benefit from the song, herp.

Sadly the major addition in this patch, besides Ninja, was Final Coil, and there still aren't that many groups running it yet, (in comparison to the population as a whole, T9's a huuuuuuge roadblock for a lot of people.)

My advice is to play some other game casually, while keeping armor and gear up to date in this game, until you're ready to go into Final Coil.

Pretty sure you can pop Ballad and throw on Battle Voice to actually regen MP faster than you use it. I can't recall right now.

only if you got the materials. I need those hq kernels and oil

Galen's bad Bard exposed yet again. Come on, Galen. You're making me lose gil in these FC pools.

I always knew Galen was a bad bard.
I wouldn't classify that as being "bad" persay. It's not like my mana has a purpose outside of singing songs, and you're not going to sing Ballad to restore your own MP, obviously, so it's not like I'm singing it and giving a shit about if it's restoring my own reserves. That's why I carry X-Ethers. Furthermore,

(Every bard is bad)
Touché.

You mentioned Bard songs not affecting the Bards, and then started listing exceptions by almost going through each song they have. Have you used Swiftsong lately?

How would a bard even fit shame in their busy schedule of pewpewpew and looking fabulous.

There's a reason like 80% of the game either is or alts bard.

(Because it's ezmode.)

Agreed, the tank swap on T10 is really fun and requires you to move quick. I'm very happy with my swap from Bard to Warrior during the patch. Tanking has been a blast and it's nice to be concerned with something other than damage parses and mp bars.

T10 is tough, the mechanics require you to move as soon as things start to happen immediately, no room for error.
But its a good challenge nonetheless.

Depending on the night and how FIOS is treating me.
Even doing roulettes is a hassle. Last night I had trouble finishing combos, let alone seeing mechanics. Almost makes me want to stop playing some days.

I don't know why but the last couple of days I've logged in I've just been kind of bored and actually feel like playing other games which I haven't done since February.

You could make a T10 group out of the latest batch of T9 clear people and see how that goes.
