Well ... if everyone does 6, I technically get 12 if I get every single one Contagion'd. It's still short (plus I was one of the deaths and would've probably lost an activation) but still. I think a 7th per person is possible if you delay P1/P2 ending by like 5-10s and had ideal pot usage (e.g., t = 0, 1m48s, 3m36s, 5m24s) but it also means less time in the final phase to compensate. And, well, still runs the risk of being short.

Would contagion actually be available for every single one you used? I don't know how that would time, assuming you weren't saving it and losing dps. I'm not sure what you mean by delay ending P1/P2 to gain the extra time though, since as you said you'd simply lose that in the final. The point about missing applications due to death is another thing I didn't consider though, the main misses I thought of to throw off perfect timing were ES/megaflare but if Tabris point was to compensate for dead people this would likely never work.

I wonder if there will be Mickey Mouse cosplay at FanFest this weekend. Mr. D seems to love Mickey Mouse. Tokyo has a DisneyLand too, so that is a bonus for people preparing their costumes.

I don't think there's a single minute of the fight that Blind wouldn't be full DR'd. ~54 Ruin 2s in the 1% wipe attempt which is almost perfectly 3 per minute.

gotta keep that GCD going!

Using them on cooldown puts them out of sync with Contagion which would mean I'd delay the potion for it and not the other way around I think. Would possibly work out.

The fourth activation would come at 5m24s (+15s to actually tick) if used perfectly on cooldown. If the phase change is delayed to allow it to hit, you get 4 in P1/P2 and then 3 in final vs 3/3. The times do not line up properly to get 4 in the final phase for us (~5:15 P1/P2, 3:45 P3, ~5:00 P4) since you need around 5m40s to get 4 uses in so the only way to squeeze in 4 is in P1/P2.

...but doing this means lowering your overall DPS for it so it's a pointless proof of concept thing. You're more likely to try to cut P1/P2 down to, say, 4:30 or so instead but then you have that whole weirdness of adds spawning anyway just because they can. And, well, if you can push P1/P2 that fast you'll crush P4~

Voice, yes, if you're the healer with voice (and if you're healing, turn auto-face-target off, you don't want to turn to voice the Renaud then heal MT and oops stone everyone) Everyone else faces the edge of the arena, away from everyone.

2. The vids I've seen, people don't kill the Renauds right? Why is that/do they stay up for the entire fight?

Voice is the triangle debuff and means, when the counter reaches zero, you're shooting a conal AOE ahead of you that stones anyone caught in it. Shriek is a circular debuff that, when the timer hits zero, shoots a circular AOE out from you that stones anyone caught in it. The only way to prevent the party from turning to rocks is to have a stoned Renaud for the shriek person to hide behind. The stoned Renaud then LoS's the shriek and prevents stoning the party/buffing Melusine.

Some people swear by one Renaud at a time, some 4 stack, but the idea is that you always want at least one frozen Renaud up for shriek.

Besides that, the fight seems relatively simple anyway.

It's mostly situational awareness; now that the party can eat a shriek and still survive it's pretty easy as long as people keep track of their voices and the OT can grab and hold the adds. Venomous tail, petrifaction, voice, shriek. It's mostly just knowing what's going on at any given time that's key. Getting 8 people to all pay attention can be tricky though.

Pretty much. It's just an oddity with how the cooldowns time out with that whole middle phase effectively resetting the fight. But, yeah, it never actually gets to solve the problem anyway so it's pointless.

Thanks for the info!. Didn't even think about auto-face. Alice will be healing so I'll get her to make sure that is turned off.

Worst comes to worst, a quick GAF group will probably one shot it... probably . (assuming DF groups go south which I always expect them to so I can be surprised if they don't lol)

This is true, but it also adds the risk that somebody is going to auto-attack or tab target your sole survivor Renaud and completely bone you for shriek. Also I'm think more post-nerf-world where...

Yoshi-P's based 60 second Renaud freeze increase means you have to really, really try to have Renauds bust loose. I don't think I've seen Renauds bust loose unless two voices were missed and the shriek target bit it before shriek went out since the nerfs came down. I guess it's possible if the stack is more 'Renauds sprinkled liberally around A' than an actual stack, but then you're stacking wrong.

4 stack pre-nerf used to carry more risk if nobody was babysitting timers, but in the post-nerf world the risk is mostly gone and people should probably do whatever they're most comfortable with. Unless it's 1 stack and your group can't stop killing Renauds. Then maybe keep a spare handy.

xivdb usually has users who post screenshots of stuff pretty quick after a patch. You have to know the name of the item though, or you get a huge list to slog through.

This did not work at all and me and the DRG wound up having to tank a good portion of the run. I am not a good tank my self at this point, but even I could have tanked better than that.

I was able to beat the HM primal trials last night and get my relic weapon. Now I just need to get enough soldiery to upgrade it. I still need to get through the fates for the crystal tower quest. I know everyone was saying they were soloable, but I cannot seem to pull it off. I have yet to try with my relic though.

Do you have your Chocobo Companion with you when soloing those fates? The extra healing helped me a lot.

My advice: Get one of the colored items each day. I made the mistake of getting 1 red star and then two green stars. The exchange rate is 2 green for a colored star.

Plenty of off-GCD abilities to cast after instant spells. Allows you to weave them in your rotation without losing dps.
