You need to change your TV display settings to stop it from over scanning. It's probably cutting stuff off for everything you just haven't noticed it before FFXV.

Yeah, that's not it dude. Had this TV for years and did that the first day I got it.

Oh yeah that reminds me towards the end after the
crystal
event...

You've been gone for 10 years and the reunion with your bros. Like...nothing. I'd believe it if it were weeks but geez. It's like they don't give a shit and are just on about "Welp, let's go finish the job". Maybe the ending will pay this off entirely. We'll see.

Enjoying this, starting to feel more like a Final Fantasy now that I'm out of the first area. Story is still barebones and I feel like there are a lot of conversations and characters predicated on having some prior knowledge of the lore, oh well. Sidequests galore though, damn, I'm already building up a backlog because I don't want to be overpowered for the story.

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
FF12 and 13 at least felt more cohesive, regardless of the actual content of 13's story and the nosedive 12's took in the latter parts. XV lacks a strong narrative direction as a whole. Many things feel pieced together and you're never given the full picture. You're also not given much room to care about the events happening in the overarching plot or the supporting cast attached to it.

Interesting. I'm hoping the narrative is at least decent enough and understandable. That's what I didn't like about FFXIII's: it's poorly explained and every term was vague.

Just reached the lighthouse
to drop Iris.

22 hours in.

I said it before and I'll say it again. This game is GORGEOUS. I've been stopping so many times just to admire the scenery and take screenshots. It's just breathtaking.

Depends on your definition of vague cause there's definitely a lot of that here too.

Wtf at the bioblaster.......how the hell you even effectively use the damn weapon it's like a short range cannon and it takes for ever to shoot

Okay dude, but I (and many others here) had the exact same issue with FFXV and that was it.

Yeah. I really can't imagine it being something else. I guess there are just more games out there than I thought where you don't notice the cut off, which is surprising to me. I figured modern games no longer taking overscan into account was the standard.

SE definitely doesn't. I experienced this exact same issue with XIV on my old TV. Annoying, but in the end it was on on the TV and its lacking options, not on the game.

Finished upgrading the Engine Blade and it's pretty damn good too.

Riding the chocobos are a lot of fun, but for some reason Gladio or Prompto will keep bumping right into me and stopping constantly despite there being all this open space.

Still in Chapter 1 but how do you go about upgrading weapons?

If it isnt overscan, as you say, can you bring some more detail as to what is being cut off?

There's just so many missing pieces.
Everything was off-screen.

This is a bit annoying. I don't understand why they couldn't just create cutscene for some of this stuff while having the voiceovers. When
Aranea was talking about what the empire was doing with daemons it would've been really cool to see the set up in a facility.
I wonder how much time/energy/effort it would have taken to make that happen because it seems relatively simple.

The problem is that there's no real explanations about a lot of things. They just sort of happen and you continue onward. You'll get bits and pieces here and there from maybe the radio or NPCs but that's it.

Strange terms being tossed around like Cieth, l'Cie, and fal'Cie.

So I guess it's mandatory to watch Kingsglaive and Brotherhood.

Actually once you are done with it, the game's story is clear enough. A lot of things get explained later in the game but as Kagari has said, some major elements of the story happen off-screen which might be disappointing.

After finishing it and reading the various theories, I actually want to go through this again to see it in light of the new theories. I will definitely do that once I get a Pro + the 60 fps patch.

Not really a terms problem... it's a lack of content problem.
Pretty much. Also feels like they will use some of this content in DLC =/

Is there a good guide out there yet for Noctis' combos? I've experimented a bit, and there's a lot more there than I expected.

I'm getting really tired of these Magitek Assassins random encounters. They constantly respawn, are level 46, and there's like half a dozen of them every time.

This is especially annoying when I need to pick up an item inside their spawn radius for a quest, and of course you can't pick stuff up in combat.

XV doesn't have this problem. There are different terms thrown around but they make sure the player doesn't have issues understanding any of it. It also helps that this game is a lot more grounded than XIII so there isn't a need to have a huge list of mystical names for stuff.

That level 14 hunt against the Flans... I got rekt. Any tips for those things?

I just beat this finally at level 16. It was a bitch, haha.
I tried to focus on one at time and get as many link attacks in as possible since those do crazy damage. I also bought Prompto a gun with a blizzard effect on it so it would freeze them a lot when he teamed up with me which helped. I also constantly used regroup to keep people from dying, and make sure you bring elixirs, cause you'll need a few.

Here's the thing: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT CLICK

everybody grew and were busy doing their thing especially since everything went to shit, so there's really no moment to be cheerful. So it works in that regard. Actually I liked that aspect.. we can't sit and celebrate now we got work to do. I'm just upset that mad stuff happens offscreen

Okay I have a lot of questions, I am sorry if some of this is really obvious but there are a few things that are really confusing to me.

These are all Kingsglaive and Chapter 1 spoilers so I am spoiler blocking it all

Does the empire actually want Luna and Noctis to get married? Why are they involved in all of this? Or is the negotations between Insomnia and the empire separate from all the marriage stuff?

What is the point of their marriage? Is it the whole "two kingdoms unite so therefore they are stronger together against the bad guy?" Why negotiate with the empire then?

Why is Noctis heading towards Luna's city to get hitched to her at the same time as Luna is going to Noctis' city? Did the King not think this through?

At the end of chapter 1, Noctis is literally overlooking the location that Luna is taking to leave Insomnia. They are literally so close to each other it is frustrating that they don't encounter one another??

When Luna is leaving Insomnia in Kingsglaive she's with that one guy. Where the hell did he go in the five minute span that she steps out of Insomnia?

These people have cell phones...why don't Noctis and Stella just call each other to coordinate locations?

Is there a good guide out there yet for Noctis' combos? I've experimented a bit, and there's a lot more there than I expected.

Wrong way to play it, it's more about positioning and playing in and out. Keep that mind, cause the combos aren't really dmc or bayoneta-esque to keep momentum but rather each move has a purpose.
