My friend says she's getting 1AP when she lands a warp strike and kills an enemy. Any idea why? She can't seem to find anything in the ascension upgrade menu that would seem to provide this bonus.

Whenever you kill an enemy with warp strike you get 1 AP every time. No ascension skills needed.

Kinda wish they would've made it so that monsters will divert to the soldiers and they can fight each other, that would've been cool.

I was actually fully expecting that to happen since that has been pretty much standard for open world games for quite some time. But nope, wild boar throws me into the air and a magitek sniper comes in for the assist while the boar just calmly ignores all the other troopers.

After putting 15 hours into the game and still being in chapter 3, I am wondering how people managed to power through the game so quickly. I'm not going after all side content by any means, either.

I'm 14 hours in on chapter 7, I even did quite a few side quests and hunts

Basically:

-Fast travelling everywhere
-Playing on easy mode

All I can think of as to why I'm cruising through it. Not a complaint by any means

Yeah, it really weirds me out she's dressed like that and poses that way around her grandpa.
This made me laugh out loud for some reason. Cindy is so stupid, every aspect of her.

You can skip that animation, though. I just jammed on buttons until I got a skip prompt.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
ahhh I thought that just the official reboot of development headiing into 15. I guess some aspects of that back then were still versus

Whatever was shown from 2006-2013 were basically scrapped.
Maybe the Leviathan battle set and everything else was placed in Kingsglaive in the 2013 E3 trailer.

Nomura's XV was still Versus, just with a name change. The game was changed in a lot of ways when Tabata took over. That said, even things from Tabata's own trailers did not make it into the game.

I still ache to see how Stella would've made it into the storyline. But then, in turn, that goes for everything else that went out with her, I s'pose. It's crazy how many aesthetic and stylistic stages this game went through but what we got in the end is fair enough because, after all, it was the one that finally saw completion. :p And despite being tonally distinct it tries to carve the most out of it.

Yes. Finishing an enemy with either of those nets you 1 AP. No upgrade needed.

Nvm. I'm way late.

Yeah those "25-30 hour" impressions are looking like atypical players running toward the finish line.

FUUUCK! The boss for Chapter XIII really took a beating! The hardest boss I've encountered so far. He drained my supply of recovery items.

About to start the game after watching Kingsglaive. Have a question about Noctis...

Why was Noctis mostly non-existent in the movie despite being clearly important?

I have been a FF fan for, well, let's just say decades. I even enjoyed FFXIII, though it wasn't one of my favourites. However, after half an hour, I couldn't take any more of FFXV. I don't know why. It was just excruciatingly dull for me. And yes, I'm sure there is some cool stuff in there somewhere. But, whether it was the characters, the setting, what, I just don't know, it just felt so utterly boring. And I am someone who always craves the unconventional from FF. I don't want wizards and castles or whatever. I want cutting edge. I'm sorry to say, but this didn't cut it.

Did anyone else feel this way, or is it just me? To be honest, I am generally not that into games these days, unless they are truly original or unique. So I'm willing to accept it might be my problem rather than FFXV's (yes, that old chestnut - it's not you it's me).
Don't feel like typing a long response on my phone so let's just say our past experiences and current feelings are very similar.

it was so annoying watching DSP struggle with (minor spoiler, it's an early hunt)
deadeye because he kept trying to R1 target the red barrels and blaming the battle system when you can kill him in a few minutes by exploding 3 barrels while deadeye's on them, just by free aiming

I'm still sad what happened to
Solheim. Where the hell did it go.
and
whatever was left from Tenebrae

Pretty sure I've seen some Magitek soldiers getting smashed by an Iron Giant while I was running out of range. Happened to me as I was doing the first night hunt out of Hammerhead.

I'm pretty sure that sort of happened to me once, where the Iron Giant at nighttime just kept to hit me and my crew, and inadvertently hit them and killed them/damaged them heavily.

Lmao beaten

I just crashed the car into a bridge and messed up the front/cracked the windshield. Now I have to get it towed and repaired. Never driving in manual mode ever again

Half an hour?

You didn't really give it a chance there dude.

Has anyone gotten the 333 AP close range warp strike critical ascension skill? Is it worth it? I'm at about 300 AP in chapter 8 right now and I'm trying to decide between that or getting a handful of cheaper skills.

Half an hour? Damn, you barely did anything though.

Also want to know this as well. At the very least, you can always just make a quick save file before using it in case no one answers.

No bestiary is truly mind boggling. Not only because it would be useful but also I want to look at the enemy models :( maybe if we're loud enough about it they'll include one in a patch?

Speaking of DLC I would love it if they released DLC
that created the 2013 Leviathan scenario although that would probably take a bit of work haha.

A bestiary would've been great. You don't really get to admire the models whilst fighting. For example I noticed from one of Prompto's photos that a monster had faces on its legs lol

Reply sent Shouta, hopefully you got it I tried to send a PM to a member before and for some reason it didn't go via mobile.

But they work, thanks again.

just reached chapter 2. Love the game so far.

Though there are many things that still can be improve on. Framepacing is noticeable and the camera can be annyoing sometime.

Got all the Royal weapons heh, feeling stronk

Originally he was meant to be in the invasion but Tabata had to rework a lot of stuff.

Finished the game. Took me 20 hours, 30 minutes. Didn't do much side stuff, if I cut out the stuff I did do I probably could have finished the game in under 20.

If I had to score the game based on this experience I'd give it a 7 or 7.5/10 and place it on the lower half of my ranking of the games. Thought the storytelling was bad, main 4 characters and villain were ok (everyone else I don't feel got enough screen time for me to have any opinion of them either way), combat was solid but found it kind of mindless outside of the Chapter 13 and 14 bosses. Main story mainly lost me from Chapter 9 onwards, especially Chapter 13 which is plain awful imo. A lot of strange or poor game design decisions and combat encounters, and a few really weird story events/reveals.

Doing optional stuff now and it's pretty fun. My opinion of the game will probably improve by time I'm through with it.

I pretty much went dark about a year or so ago around the time that one trailer came out with
the big metal gear
looking thing and only really messed with platnium demo for a little bit. But wow if even Tabata couldn't get all of his stuff in the end result. It is what it is tho.

I only have about 2ish hours in and only got to the rest stop after the first one (I think hammerhead or something) but I like what's here so far. I forgot how slick a FF's UI and just general art direction is. Battle theme is pretty good. Doesn't stick to me like 13's but that was going to be hard to top for me personally.

I like how much they are pushing end game stuff for this. Heard from the thread and else where there is some fun stuff out there. Pretty cool that I at least know they have some end game stuff and dlc down the line

Basically. I'm still trying to soldier through but it's almost embarrassingly bad so far.

I'm so glad I'm the polar opposite of this. Waiting this long for a main line FF only to hate it must be horrid!

Those with highers expectations and hype before a game is released are also those that hate it easier if those expectations aren't meet :p

Just got around to getting into this game. I'm at the start of Chapter Three and I have a few notes:

- Chapter 1 really DID feel like you were running across a barren landscape. I treaded out into the deserts around Leide in search for monsters and only encountered the ones that were part of certain hunts. I basically ran and ran and didn't encounter any Sabertusk or Reapertail. That changed later, though.

- I encountered two glitches. While at Galdin Quay, I managed to get stuck halfway into the inn room after talking to the guy in front of it. I had to load from a previous save to get out of it. Another glitch was visible through Prompto's pictures. After camping, we looked through the day's photos and one had all the grass clumps floating in the sky.

- Battles started off worse than in Duscae(maybe cause we were all low level), but after leveling up and gaining new skills, they've become damn fun.

- Camera is still ass at times.

- The graphics teeter between good(serviceable) and urgh(some look PS2-worthy). The reflection effect at Galdin Quay, given the day and way you are facing the sea, can make things look trippy.

- Coming out of the second tomb, we were told to return to the hunter's camp and I all of a sudden heard this noise that sounded like women and children screaming. There was a massacre going on... maybe the Niff forces were slaughtering innocents.... nah, a giant Coeurl jumped down and started attacking my party. Fuck no, I ran the fuck out of there!! That shit's animal call is the stuff of nightmares.

- The interaction among the bros and the NPCs is pretty cool. I also find it funny that a lot of the NPCs that are somewhat important to your story were given surnames.

A bestiary would've been great. You don't really get to admire the models whilst fighting. For example I noticed from one of Prompto's photos that a monster had faces on its legs lol

Didn't they say they were going to include one? Man, that sucks.

Post Chapter XIII spoilers.
WWOOOOOW at that AMAZING FFVI reference! Tabata wasn't lying when he said it was his favorite! I'm so fucking hyped right now

Iris
has so much "content". She's there for camp scenes, she has her own chocobo, she has walking dialogue... I want her permanently on my team T_T
