When it comes to game-breaking glitches, I only experienced two.

1) Camera was completely stuck during the Castlemark Dungeon (Which is a terrible dungeon on its own). I could not control the camera at all, and was stuck in a position where it made any kind of exploration impossible. I could not even activate stuff because the screen would not allow for the prompt to appear. Had to go back out of the dungeon, go into a battle and issue a command to one of my allies to fix this.

2)
In the Water ruins in the Vesperwood,
Chapter 7 I believe.
An Iron Giant is supposed to destroy a bridge, which won't regenerate itself until you win the battle. Well, the battle never initiated and the Iron Giant never fell down with me (It disappeared completely). So the game refused to fix the bridge. In my frustration I reloaded my previous save, losing half an hour of gameplay. This fixed the issue, at least, since I could fight the Iron Giant on my second attempt.

When it comes to graphical glitches, one time during the very early morning, the lighting was fucked up (Shadows and every object and characters in them looked all black, like burned). This got fixed by itself and never saw it again during my playtime.

I think that's all I experienced.

EDIT: Oh yeah, also Gladio turned almost invisible twice during my game. Entering a cutscene fixed it.

These scenes aren't in the game anymore, right? :/

Also...is stargazing with Ignis still a tour side quest?

I'm about to stop doing any post game content. Three fucking crashes in the past 2 hours. Two of them didn't effect me but this last one wiped the hunt and more importantly an entire fort.

Fuck this shit. Fix your damn game SE

I share your frustration. Especially when my last save was a full hour away. Then on my 2nd play through I don't get a summon like the first time aaand my team dies unlike the first time.

Prompto went invisble in the ending. Talk about anticlimactic.

Man, there was so much stuff missing in the game. No backstory at all for so many things. No explanation for the lore whatsoever.

Once you get the quest it should tell you in the quest log. Doesn't really tell you where to find them unfortunately, but I could help you if you're having trouble finding anything.

Oh, I see it now. Thanks.

It says give item X to Cid. So I assume that I already have the said item.

I just got the platinum trophy for this game, and I have to admit it has been a massive letdown. It's the first game I've purchased and felt slightly conned -- not by SE but by the reviewers + general consensus about the game upon release. Like Schreier's review is all about how nostalgic this game is, about how it has all the essential FF components, etc... but this game doesn't feel like a classic FF whatsoever. It's certainly not as polished or high quality as FF7-10.

Quality aside which can be very subjective, I feel the exact opposite of this. I haven't played a numbered entry in the series that has felt more "Final Fantasy" than this one in a very long time.

I'm about to start Chapter 13, how many hours until the ending? I'm level 45 atm, and I feel quite overleveled for the story missions, so I was thinking about wrapping up the main story asap and then focus on sidequests and post-game stuff

I decided that when i'll be done with the game and my graduation, i'll sit down and rewrite everything that i didn't liked about the game: Ascension Grid nodes, events, gameplay mechanics and such. And i mean multiple pages long, with graphs and everything (as long as my skills allow).

About 3 hours.

You're about 2-3 hours from completing the main story, most of which will be spent on traversing an extensive dungeon in Chapter 13.

Can someone explain to me how the enemy placement in this game works?

I keep running into situations where I'm doing a level 10 quest but the area I need to do it in is filled with things in the 40's. It's impossible to pick up items when in combat so I have to kill what is present, because they seem to be there all day every day. So it's not really a level 10 quest?

Am I missing something?

I had another example on a main quest mission, where the entrance to a level 20 quest dungeon was being essentially guarded by something that was level 50. I just ran around it, but it's really odd and takes me out of the game when this happens.

People really need to go and play Final Fantasy XIV

And I am saying this as someone who hates playing MMO or onlie games in general and only played the main story of ARR and have not touched Heavensward because time and money =/

It's just very good.

So I decided to see how other people were handling the Castlemark Sealed Dungeon:

Then I realized everybody was knocking the difficulty down to Easy. What the fuck am I doing with my life? It's clear they didn't playtest this dungeon on Normal so I'm close to saying 'fuck it' and lowering the difficulty.

What are the best ways to max out fishing and cooking? I'm almost done with survival and photos. I'm at level 7 and level 5 on fishing and cooking.

Perhaps I will. I'm not really a fan of the slow MMO combat systems, though.

Yeah, quality aside, this just does not feel like a Final Fantasy to me so far.

I just grabbed it on Black Friday and can't wait to really delve in soon. Obviously been a bit distracted by XV now.

down...took me 1h45 to beat it.

One more trophy for the platinum...I'm rank 5.75 in fishing, so I need to farm this now to get rank 10.

This is how you can spot someone who hasn't done the Sealed Dungeons. Some of the content in this game is fucking hard. I've spent five hours trying to get past those Iron Giants.

I don't understand how anything can be considered hard when it is literally impossible to get a game over unless you run out of items. As long as you have 1000g for another Phoenix Down you are immortal. Noct takes a knee and waits for you to revive him.

The only measure of challenge is how many items you had to use.

It may be because I haven't played an FF since X-2. I did play XI which was a great MMO, but I never considered it a part of the FF continuum.

Quality is absolutely subjective, but what I'm getting at is that the FF games I grew up playing were all top of the line. They looked & played better than their contemporaries, and oftentimes pushed the genre in new directions.

This FF... well it's not gonna do that. People aren't going to be talking about FFXV in one year, let alone 20. This is a series that's supposed to redefine the genre, and the biggest changes in this FF are all borrowed ideas from other open-world games.

How glitchy/poorly performing is the base ps4 version? Would love to pick this up but am I better off waiting for a few patches?

The framerate is pretty bad, but I have got semi used to it. Image quality isn't great either, AA is none existent with lots of shimmering surfaces and low resolution mid to distant objects.

Disclaimer: This is the first console game I have played in months. Usually play all PC games in native 4K minimum 60fps, so your mileage may vary.

I disagree, I think this game is a step in the right direction for the franchise if they can fix their narrative issues. I think this game will still be discussed years down the line.

Discussed for what? Its above average combat? The open world was decent, the dungeons were great, but it's got nothing on games like Witcher 3.

It definitely left a lot to be desired. At least FFXIII had a somewhat cohesive storyline, and it took longer to complete even though I spent probably 30 hours doing side content in XV.

I don't think you're supposed to ever get to the point where there's 3 flaming giants. That's a penalty room.

I think there's a deterministic way to get to the right route on the second attempt, but we just haven't figured it out, RNG included.

But yeah, the bombs beforehand, lol. I think bombs are just overtuned in general. Either you armiger and they evaporate, or you gotta be prepared for pain. Not just confined to Costlemark either.

You are kind of in a minority there when it comes to "average combat, decent world" and stuff. The game is not getting such great reviews for nothing.

It's cool to be in a minority, personally I'm in the minority that dislikes MGSV, but that doesn't mean I deny reality.

Picked this up on that $30 deal for xbox. It seems cool but man the blurriness gets to me, I'm starting to think I should've waited for the eventual PC version. I'll try to power through it like I did with Bloodborne when the CA made my eyes water.

I must be one of the very few that dont really like Altissia...

It is so much "Venice" that doesnt feel like a Final Fantasy city at all... even the damn gondoliers look exactly like they do in Venice.

Lestallum on the other hand is beautiful, a proper Final Fantasy town.

Onto Chapter 12 and I'm so freaking torn. I don't inherently hate these chapters. The story has been an absolute mess but you see glimmers of potential here and there. The world seems really great too. It's so sad that it ended up this way. :/

*Above average. There's better MMOs out there if you want basic fetch quests and an open world. If they could just put a tiny bit of story behind their "quests", it would be so much better. Seeing as what we got with the main story though, I'm not surprised.

I felt better about the game before I went into chapter 9. I just wanted to finish it and unlock post game content. But now I feel so disappointed I don't even wanna continue playing. The game doesn't even have a proper
final boss.

MGSV's problems are very similar to XV's. I'm surprised you liked it.

Dont worry, they throw in a bullshit difficulty spike to slow you down soon

I did the costlemark tower before I got the quest about the tomb. And after I killed the boss I didn't get the sword. I later did the quest from Viv, does anyone know if I get the weapon if I do the Costlemark again or am I doomed?
