I fought the Ch 2 boss last night.

Are the big "NO" symbols on the various targets supposed to convey you can't analyze him? I kept thinking that meant they couldn't be damaged and after looking around for a weakpoint without the symbol for a while my comrades had killed it already.

What's your recommended Elemancy combination?

I went from crafting straight fire or ice or lightning to combining into blizaga and fira etc.

I only wish I could tell my team to stand behind me when I use it.
Wait to use Ignis' regroup ability and then unleash magic, if you can. Minimal collateral damage.

Lol, I'm not sure what you mean by the No symbol but it's pretty frustrating for me. I'm already on Chapter 8 and I still don't understand all the enemies bars and symbols.

Sometimes I see purple health bars, I just attack the heck out of them until they die. :/

When locked on, inside the circle that fills up as you analyze an enemy, there is this overlay:

So, I'm trying to do hunts, but it says I need to be rank 3. I'm on chapter 3 and I've done every hunt I can at hammerhead and galdin. It's says 13/15. But it won't let me do rank 3 hunts. Is there another area for rank 2 hunts

They may have gone a bit far with it. For whatever reason though I find the Lestallum ladies somewhat less absurd. I guess it's just easier to interpret as part of their local culture. Ribald ladies cutting loose after a sweaty day's work, unzipping to cutoffs. With Cindy it's like, that is her work clothing

I think it mainly bothered me because it didn't even seem like they'd just unzipped their clothing. It literally looked like a massive hole had been cut in their uniform. I think I'd be less annoyed if it had just have been a bit of an unzip, which may show off their sports bra, but doesn't go as far down as their underwear.

Like one poster said, use ignis tech "regroup" then unleash the elemancy to lessen the damage on your party. Plus, most of the time I use this thing whenever those imperial show up. Like I will run into them and then lock in and fire the elemancy. No damage to my party and I killed them easily.

I think almost every outpost restaurant has lower level hunts. The one where you first stop in ch3 in duscae has some.

The rest area where you stop at in before going to Galdin in chapter 1 has some hunts. Also since you're in chapter 3 you can get some at the first rest area in Duscae too I think. The Crow's Nest restaurants are where the tipsters are always at

Purple means they're resistant to your attack. Orange is the color you want to see. Barring that, then white at least. If the numbers are purple, use libra or switch your weapons until you find something effective, otherwise, it's gonna take a loooot longer than it should to beat encounters.

That's the crazy thing; I booked it out of there as soon as I Libra'ed that mofo and saw its level, but that thing had such a HUGE fight area that it still rocked everyone on my team with it's magic heat-seeking missiles before we could get out of there and we wiped. I thankfully had a recent save but holy moly that was irritating.

Yea, it happened to me around the same level as well. I've only seen one of them though, so it doesn't seem like something that happens often.

Holy hell the Survival trophy is brutal. I was at level 7 and I played for about 5 hours last night and barely got past level 8, and I ran everywhere. Trying to clean up the remaining trophies and that one is going to require straight up time unless I cheese it.

Oh wow. That's a game changer.

Also SafeInSound Lestallum had a lot of food carts/ diner

Near the volcano in the bottom left, only accessible in the post-game. Warning though. It's kind of bullshit, I didn't mind Chapter 13, but this I hate.

Loads of items though.

I loved the dungeon!

Up until the rotating statue room. Full of cheap spots and very unclear paths. Was guessing in that room for almost an hour and i was practically walking circles around the exit for 20 minutes without realising it was the exit.

Sadly the game obviously not built for platforming. Wouldve been fine if he didnt roll so much after certain heights or I could turn without him taking a couple steps.

Time to bust out the rubber band, all I have left is the bros individual skills and the big boss, I'm all quested out after a marathon of fetch quests last night. So dumb hunts didn't count towards that trophy. Don't think I have any more patience to hunt for frogs.

What's the best way to get AP and EXP?
For AP:
You need to have the shield from one of the tombs (don't remember where I got it), then go to the the valley that is the south vest one (if I remember correct) of the three close to one another next to hammerhead. Stand between the rib cages of some big animal and blow the summon whistle. If you have the shield you give out splash damage when you warp strike and kill every level 2 "wolf" that appears in one strike. You can blow your whistle almost immediately after you kill them making them appear within seconds. Stay there until dark, go and sell your "loot" or pump them into a magic (99 gives you 35 of any spell), sleep and then return.

For EXP
Make exp magic with rare coins (24 coins makes for 8), and throw them all on the bandersnatch, then sleep at the hotel in Altissa.

Hunts are so pointless. There's a few cool ones, but the bulk are just mindless mobs or reskins. I'm not sure why there's an excessive amount of them either.

Are you talking about the Oracle coins? Apparently if you save those, you can sell them for really good accessories to a guy.

Played through Chaper 9 to 12 last night. I like the story, it got so much better after I started going after the story and not doing every single sidequest. The open world part is good too, but the story part of it isn't the best which can be a bit bad as it is your first impression. However, it makes a really good contrast to later in the game when things get more linear.
Anyway Ignis going blind, made me soooo sad. Him falling over and splashing around in the water made me feel so bad for him. I didn't realize he couldn't see at all before I went into the mind dungeon. And he just liked to have his world crystal clear! Poor guy. Luna passing didn't really move me much allthough the cgi scene was pretty. The tonal shift is good, works really well as a contrast to the open world part. Going back via Umbra is sort of bittersweet right now :p Also, they are good at foreshadowing, that's for sure!

How do you cheese it? I'm level 9 but it'll probably end up being the last trophy I need.

Got back to this game recently (started ch2), Nearly got wrecked by that spider boss in that tomb...

Is this how the game gonna be for tough enemies? My ai buddies seem incapable of dodging those hard hits so I ended up spending a lot of times healing them up :/

This is why I can never stand playing Tales games on harder difficulties.

I believe that is the thing that swooped down and flew over my head while exploring last night. I was like, "holy shit."
Can you ever fight
that giant bird from the early game?

I still havent. Level 99 everyone, beat Adamantoise, now just waiting for the patch to drop before continuing to Chapter 10.

Nice. I'm currently trying to figure out the easiest way to get to 99.

Where do you guys read the trophy requirements. I've never platinum any game before but I'm considering doing it for this one.

How much built up experience should I have before going to the 3x hotel?

Have people had the bug where during the adamantoise battle you get knocked out of the battle arena? How did you solve the issue? I have wasted two times an hour on this, and it is frankly quite frustrating.

Get the regroup technique for Ignis, it will help a lot in the early game. Also remember, you can use TP abilities to give i-frames to you and your buddy. This is very useful for avoiding damage.

It's the rare coins, not the oracle ones. The are scattered all over the world. There is some strategy in getting them quick, but I don't remember those details.

I have found that doing the postgame dungeons net you good amount of exp. Doing three of them gave me 250k exp, which tripled to 750 (giving me a jump from level 73 to 84).

You can find trophy requirements on psnprofiles.com for example, or you can look to any one of the trophy roadmaps you can find on google.

You should use thr 3x exp when you have north of 150k exp, since the price is quite high and you won't want to pay it too often.

Did you fast travel a lot? I'm almost level 7 for Survival, Cooking and Fishing (Prompto is already level 8) and I'm still on Chapter 3. I never fast travel, though.

those the team up abilities?

Still getting a feel of the game. Is the Triangle warp abilities not suppose to hit lock onto enemies? Seems to only work for me if I warp up a wall somewhere and do a warp strike that way.

Other times it just seems like a longer dodge roll.

Can someone explain Costlemark Tower to me? Everytime I end up at the bottom I'm greeted with more and more enemies. Most recently 3 Fire Giants and 1 Naga. Is it supposed to be like this? It's near impossible to keep the party alive even though I'm 20+ levels above them.

It's been a few days since I played (waiting for the patch but also hey my Pro straight up broke so fun) but I remember Oracle and...I think it's Debased coins? Is that the name?
