UPS says mine should be delivered today but it doesnt say out for delivery. Just in transit.. Hoping it comes today but really thinking about not preordering at all from amazon if Im wanting to play it day 1.

I never would have done this if my roommate hadn't had a long history of success in these matters. I've seen so many threads over the years where people are hyped-hyped-hyped for Amazon's alleged simplicity and all the "benefits" of avoiding the lines and stuff, only for some of those same people to end up grieving over games that come days late when other folks are playing it at midnight or what-have-you.

I've already beaten the game and never had carbuncle appear besides the tutorial. I definitely got the notification from having a platinum demo save. How do you find carbuncle to use him in the main game?

Slowly starting to get the hang of the combat as well. Biggest challenge for me is remembering that I have to hold attack button instead of tapping. A tough habit to get over since I play tons of action games.

Okay having an argument with my friend about that initial scene of them pushing the car to Stand By Me.

Was that song choice meant to be funny? My friend swears the entirety of that was meant to be funny. My stance is while their banter is funny it's ultimately supposed to be a bonding moment and a serious use of the song...but the ridiculousness of that song choice while a boy band is pushing a car makes it unintentionally funny.

I'll probably hate it on my second playthrough, though. But to be fair, it seems like it's an actual mechanic in the game, if you let the car run out of gas. That does make it better, imo.

Anyone in the Washington DC area (I'm actually in DC if there's a warehouse difference, I think there is) seeing (possible) delays with their shipment? It's now 1:30 and my copy is still preparing shipment, so I'm getting the feeling I'm not going to get it today. Which really sucks because I have like 5 hours to play tonight...and then basically no time again until the weekend, where I might collectively have a few hours. Really was looking forward to kicking back and getting started on it tonight.

I might have to get a little snarky with an Amazon rep if this doesn't come through because it's the fourth thing this week that's been delayed from them if I don't get two things tonight. I've been waiting on a sink plunger that is now 3 days late and I received word today that my $99 New 3DS that was scheduled to be delivered today is going to be delayed ("shipped today though for real don't worry!!"). I'm also supposed to get a can of carpet cleaner spray today that's still also sitting as "preparing shipment", which isn't urgent at all, but damn, come on guys. I get it's post-Black Friday and all, but add a +1 day for shipping if you have to; though I've had FF XV locked for a couple weeks now.

Pro tip, when fighting huge hordes do not hard lock on, once you get the hang of it switching between soft and hard is essential.

Yeah in most cases for hordes there virtually is no point singling out one enemy, and the hard lock basically makes it inconvenient to warp away

Played this game all night yesterday and all day today. Just doing side quests, hunts and everything in between, taking my sweet time grinding in between main missions.

Man, this game rules. As a guy who despised XIII and it's sequels I'm both pleasantly surprised and ecstatic that there's a new FF game that I'm loving.

Hold the defense button down instead of attack. Watch the magic. You'll soon realized you should only hold attack when you know it's safe.

Seems you have already done the mines, is there a secret to get to to the tomb? There is some locked door on the lowest for that was closed before my eyes. Went 2 times through the dungeon and I think I am missing something.

Look for a cracked wall in the upper stairs area. I had a lot trouble finding it too.
