Was before I got Regalia, but I ran away. Now i'm wondering if I should have attempted it >_<
If you sleep at a Motel/Hotel you can't cook food but get Bonus xp, but they cost money to sleep at. I think the Trailers multiply it by 1.3 for 30gil, the Hotel in Galdin Kai multiplies your XP by x2 for 10k gil.
You can still play the game without losing anything of consequence. I mean you miss what, Wait Mode and Kingsglaive cutscenes. If you really want to play the game, you will have the same experience as everyone else.
Trailers are 1.2X (30), hotels are 1.5X (300) and resorts 2X (at least Quay, 10K; though you get a free one at the end of Chapter One, so folks may want to save their experience until that point).

Can anyone else answer this? I want to know as well. Not too found of the casual outfits for most of the crew except for Ignis.
I've been sticking to their defaults for the most part or the no jacket version.

My game isn't here, and I'm pretty sure it's not going to get here tonight. If so, this is the first time Amazon has let me down. Was supposed to be here by 8pm and it's 8:10pm. UPS tracking says it arrived in the Buffalo facility @ 7:12pm...

Yes, or use them to make magic. At least see what kind of magic you can get out of something before scrapping it.
Can only fish in Galdin Quay in Leide. Chapter 3 is when the world opens up.

The pinball machine minigame is a cool addition, managed to get a mega phoenixdown from it.
Am I the only one who is annoyed that it takes so long for the field theme music to start playing? I have the feeling that it takes at least 30-60 seconds after leaving an outpost for the theme to start playing and in this time frame the chance is pretty high that I either run into enemies, open the menu or enter another outpost which interrupts the theme again. If only the theme would just continue where it left off after fighting enemies or opening the menu....
It's a shame, since I really like the theme and I have to deliberately stand around to listen to it completely.

Just started playing. I'm only in the tutorial, but oh my god, the controls are SO much more responsive than Duscae and Platinum demos. Just like that, my biggest anxiety about this game is slipping away.

I killed the Sabretusks, then slept at the haven/camp to the west of it then went back in the morning and it showed up.
So I guess it's not a guaranteed spawn but chance based.
Just kill whatever's there then sleep and return until it shows up.
At least now I know my game isn't bugged.

Is the chocobo music going to play every single time i ride one? It kills the chill vibes when i'm exploring. It's cool how it transitions when you stand still though.
People certainly weren't kidding when they said the story seems really poorly told. I think XIII actually gave more explanations than this game does, and that's tragic considering it also suffered from the same problems. Characters not really being introduced, glaring bits of information being left out and so on.
I'm not massively far in with only 6ish hours on the clock, so I do hope it improves.
Shame either way, the game play is really solid.

San Francisco here and it's been telling me it's on the way for like 12 hours now. Work kicked my ass today and it will tomorrow, not having a copy of this is just the shit icing to an already shit day. Like fuck, I knew I should've canceled my pre order and gone digital.

The flow of the battle system makes this game. Holy crap. Worth the purchase so far. It seems people have been warm on it, if not saying it's great but you really have to give props to this dev team for being able to integrate all the team members in such a way without breaking the flow of combat.
I'm still developing the muscle memory but I can see it becoming even better when you get it down to twitch movements and harder battles.

I'm probably getting to this post too late, but I would advance the story because certain open world events open up that add to the variety. Also, it's a good time raining down summons on hunts and inside dungeons, so it's worth it to unlock some of those by progressing further as well.

Brotherhood episode 2 was SO good. Really glad that I decided to watch Kings and these episodes back to back for the first time today, it's gotten me even more excited.

Was making good progress until my kids commandeered controller. Spent 20 minutes driving Noctis into the corner by the diner bathroom at hammerhead and giggling uncontrollably. Then fought Bandersnatch repeatedly with predictably grim results.
