I meant the Veteran skill, actually. Your avatar will level up faster if you keep them paired up all the time, and that's what causes them to be overpowered for most of the main game.

That's why I said without grinding - if you don't grind, you can't really take advantage of all the avatar's classes and skills. Especially since most people just go Tactician -> Grandmaster -> maybe one more class before they beat the game.

Ah, right - I had nearly forgotten about the Veteran skill. I had also nearly forgotten you could actually remove it! I'm not fond of the Tactician class, which is why I changed it early.

Thanks, I think it's going to improve my enjoyment of the game immensely.

Loving the game, but I have to say that being able to turn the Avatar into an invincible beast after a few maps takes me out of the experience; never had this issue on the previous games. The game would actually be easier if I only used his duo. Maybe starting on Hard was a bad idea.

Lunatic just exacerbates everyone's uselessness in comparison to the Avatar so I'd avoid it unless you want to grind DLC.

Man, do you get something out of levelling a children-parent support at the end of the game?

Nothing more than any other support. Some child-parent supports can be pretty useful as far as pair ups during battle go. A support plus dual support+ on mom gives you a pretty nice bonus, and doesn't waste one of the superior children characters as pair up fodder.

Thanks, I'm too lazy to make them all level up.

I don't use the 3D at all on my 3DS. I usually forget it's even there unless I accidentally bump it and turn it on. Wish it clicked in place when it was off.

So, I'm at chapter 17 and I'm still not even close to have all the skills I want to pass down to the children, should I start recruiting them? Or should I wait some more?

Only skills that are really really important to pass down are the gender exclusive skills (mainly galeforce for Owain/Brady/Inigo).

Am I the only one who always tunes the 3D up high when playing this btw?

It just looks slick in a lot of parts of the game.

I do, I find the 3D effect to be very enjoyable although I wish it didn't slow the game down at times. I only turn it off when I go out of my way to preserve battery life over a long period of time of not having an opportunity to charge it.

Silly question perhaps but I purchased heals and it says it heals adjacent allies but how exactly does it work? I only see reorder/trade etc. Also lol I was doing that mission toward the beginning I guess where you can get Donnel if you get him to lvl up during the battle? He was 1hp from full life and got one shotted lol...I wish I could redo it...is there no way to redo it after you beat it?

A priest/cleric/troubadour or other class proficient in staves has to use it. Lissa and Maribelle can use them, as well as others later.

So am I the only one that actually escorted Severa through the map? I didn't have a particularly tough time of it either, thanks to some good tactics and also I may have been a teensy bit overleveled.

Not at all. I pretty much did that too. Sent a bunch of mounted units to clear the path in front of her and have no troubles with her killing herself against enemies.

A "Heal" is a Staff. You give it to a Staff user, like Lissa, and have her walk up next to another unit in battle and use the Staff command.

Other staffs include Mend (Heal +10), Physic (Ranged Heal), Rescue (Teleport ally to you), Ward (Magic Resistance Buff), Recover (Full Heal).

The self heal items are the Vulnerary which heals 10, the Concoction which heals 20 and the Elixir that's a full heal.

Fucking LOVE the bird and smoke effects. First time it happened I thought there was a bug on the other side of my screen... somehow...

For grinding, the Golden Pack is good.
Lost Bloodlines is good cause it has Paragon and Dread Scroll, Smash Brethren 2 has Wedding Bouquet, and Rogues & Redeemers 3 has Limit Breaker Scroll.

Yeah, pretty much. I like them all, but those in particularly are the most appealing for anyone, I'd gather.

Chapter 3 in lunatic is so hard! I can't manage to beat even the guys in the lower levels. If I could use just Chrome and Frederick it would be a lot easier, but I have to use Sumia and she always dies.

Edit: I beat them!!!!

I ordered this from Amazon a few days ago and now its coming my way, I thought it would be harder to find...

Anyway, my 3DS backlog is growing fast and with DKC and AC, I think I'll pass on some of my backlog games and leave them as collectables.

Just started playing the full game today. On Chapter 5 or something - Hard Classic. This is easily my best Fire Emblem (as a handheld gamer). I also feel so overwhelmed by the amount of options and stuff. So much stuff to do and various ways to do it.

I also love the small improvements such as the ability to have many supports, see in one go which person you cant talk to on the battlefield and side chapters not disappearing. So much cool stuff so far. Other differences are interesting too such as Wyvern Riders wielding axes this time around.

Overall, so much fun!

Here's something nifty:

In your convey, you can place more than 99 of one kind of item, like bullions, in there. It'll visually stay at 99 but the game still keeps track of it.

Not sure of the limit since I don't think I'll grind_that_much.

I met a streetpass team that was just MC and Chrom. The name of the team was 'Free XP' and the dude's dialogue when i fought him was 'Can you not'

Finally did the swimsuit level, lots of good fun, 'cept I feel a LOT of better characters got jipped in favor of lame ass Gaius. He's a bad joke that lives off of bad puns that's gone on for too long. The only good part of his part of the level was Lon'qu feeding him to beetles. Shoulda given it to Frederick or Lon'qu or Stahl.

Funniest of all would've been giving a bikini to Libra by mistake.

Made it through Chapter 23 and I have QUESTIONS:

-When do I gain access to the 4 bonus levels?
-When is the hot springs level coming out?

It was fan voted though, it's sortof a fact that most of the fans disagree with you :I

I don't know why they did only four CGs. I would of paid more to see every character get a CG.
