Well, you see, he is a gamer... Therefore he wants games to be as good as they can be.
Not to mention he's most likely spending $60 on it. Nothing wrong with hoping that you put that much money into something worth it.

How does this affect your life? Did you make a bet?
I think i am missing some context??
because are you going to ask the same question to 100 other posters???
If this game reviews and sells well, then It might encourage other devs to try out new things instead of plateauing in one genreHow does this affect your life? Did you make a bet?
Ask me next!
I'm hoping it'll be at least 87.
Maybe so, but this doesn't satisfactorily explain why there are dozens of people in the pre-release threads for every game agonizing over an 84 vs. an 87 on Metacritic. It's idiotic. I too want Horizon to be good. I want every game to be good. I want this industry to grow and flourish. But I think that fretting about Metacritic scores is an impediment to having conversations that actually matter. If this game reviews and sells well, then It might encourage other devs to try out new things instead of plateauing in one genre
One more hourWhere is the review thread?
Where is the review thread?
Lmao!So do you achieve Nirvana in your life after predicting the score??
Hard to guess what the meta will be. Reviews in the five point scale really pull a game down these days.
A taste of things to come

Welp..time to pre-load deluxe.

Let's engage with games critically and thoughtfully, not go back and forth about their fucking Metacritic scores.

They really do because if a game is not perfect it will at most get an 8, which sometimes is not fair to a game that is just shy of being very very good. But then again, thats up to the reviewer to personally decide which way that goes, but I assume most of the time the flaws outweight the good in these cases. Thats why I prefer the 1 to 10 scale.
Absolutely. As always, we would do well to concern ourselves with the text.Scores in general
You still get the "how can X get the same score as Y" comments today
No argument here.I mean, you're not exactly wrong, but you ain't about to make everyone "see the light" overnight lol
You definitely get a loading screen when you die. I think it just means there's no loading screen while travelling the open world which seems pretty standard. Uncharted tier restarts would be insane for an open world game.No loading times whatsoever? Damn!
I predict a score between 0 and 1000.

http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/horizon-zero-dawnFew new licenses have been successful in setting the bar so high. Thanks to its varied, dazzling landscapes, its controlled rhythm, and sharp gameplay, Aloy's quest redefines what immersion in an open world means, if it does not revolutionize the genre.

Evolving the RPG genre is high praise indeed considering its contemporaries
I believe the blurb is saying it does not revolutionize the genreEvolving the RPG genre is high praise indeed considering its contemporaries
Be interesting to see if other reviewers share such a lofty opinion

I think it's saying the game at least redefines immersion of open world games, but it could be argued further that it revolutionizes it.
I took it as saying it evolves the genre without being revolutionary. But reading again seems like it's talking about immersionCan't you make it and lock it until it's time? We can look at it longingly ...
