Unless he can pick himself up in the second half of the season, he'll probably fade into oblivion over the rest of the year.

Perhaps a big, fat check from Putin a state-owned Russian company can get him a seat at Sauber or Manor next year, if he even wants to remain in F1.

It's an odd decision, I didn't know there was a 'mandatory pitstop' rule, I assumed it was just that you had to run two compounds. I know they are inherently linked but if there is no seperate mandatory pitstop rule then the 'penalty' makes no sense. And what happens if you already made your mandatory stop, then later pit under VSC? Different penalty? He has been fairly penalised in my view, but I question the way they have done it.
