If you look at the pics a couple of pages ago, there was really not much he could have done... well, short of crashing into Kvyat.

Better than crashing into your teammate!

I think Kimi was to blame a bit, he was too nice to allow him that much space which in turn gave the opportunity to Kvyat to be on the inside.. Kimi should be more aggressive with him if it happens again. Teammate or not

Not sure if Formula-E is still set on doing street courses only in the future, but if they do, I feel like they need a design that's a bit sturdier and can handle bumps and nudges. That might make designing it to look "futuristic" a tad harder though.

Interesting points. I've always liked the looks of wider rear wings.

I'm still worried about declining F1 viewers, not because of a dominant manufacturer, but because of F1 disappearing behind Pay TV.
I just want Ecclestone to piss off so we can get digital streams (that aren't locked to a cable tv subscription) and a faster implementation of an Internet database of old F1 races.

The 9.99 thing actually turned out alright in the end for WWE didn't it?

Japanese F1 press say several teams are in talks with Honda for a PU supply next season. Must be Force India & Sauber - The Stoff will drive for Force India next year. Book it!

They need to follow what the WEC are doing. Have a season-long subscription, with video content that can be accessed via mobile app AND PC. My experience with LM24 last year was sensational, and would happily pay an equivalent amount (given that LM24 is 24 hours and an F1 weekend is, what... 10 or so?) for F1.

They're even under the same company of FoM, aren't they?

http://fiaformulae.com/en/news/2016/april/stewards-approve-team-aguri-driver-change/

The Stewards have approved Team Aguri’s request for Ma Qing Ha to replace Salvador Duran at this weekend’s Visa Paris ePrix.

Following a meeting on Friday, the Stewards accepted the request to allow for the driver change in accordance to article 19.1 of the 2015/16 FIA Formula E Sporting Regulations.

Due to the lateness of the request, which was not submitted within two weeks of the event, the team are to face a financial penalty.

Salvador Duran is Formula-E's ping-pong ball.

In LA on vacation. Bits of the Long Beach circuit were still up, crazy fun to drive where they drive, seeing the rubber laid down and the pits. bet it's the same for Monaco and Singapore

Following protracted negotiations, what Pirelli refers to as a 'target letter' has now been sent by the FIA. BBC Sport can reveal its key points are as follows:

  • Tyre degradation should be proportional to performance, so the less grippy a tyre is, the longer it will run before it starts to degrade.
  • When a car is closely following another, its tyres should not degrade to the extent their performance cannot be recovered.

To the first bullet, isn't this already the case? I guess they're asking for the difference to be more pronounced. In any event, I expect the teams will manage their tires and it won't make for better on-track racing.

To the second, how? Unless they rein in aero, I don't see how you're ever going to prevent front tires from being destroyed by a driver that's trying to keep up with the car ahead while having the aero disrupted.

Great development driver there:

Nikita Mazepin banned for altercation in European Formula 3 paddock

Eye-witnesses reported that Mazepin got out his car and approached Callum Ilott, furious that the Briton had got in the way of a run on new tyres, and after an exchange of words he hit Ilott.

Ilott, who was visibly shaken by the incident, had cuts to his cheek and neck, and swelling to his jaw.

My understanding of the first point is that the tyre shouldn't be degrading at the same rate after a few laps so the drivers can push a bit harder for a bit longer.

My understanding of the second point is roughly on a par with yours.
