TGTT is getting at least the same 2 options (sunny-ish, cloudy) as in FM4

I thought we'd settled on 'Where Prague Is Driven'?

Forza Motorsport 5 |OT| Driven By Clouds.

Ok then..

Forza Motorsport 5: Where Porsche Aren't Driven

Forza Motorsport 4 |OT| Better You Bastard

I like it!

Forza Motorsport 5: Calspan Mutherfucker, Do You Speak It?

FORZA MOTORSPORT 5 |OT| WHERE AMAR212 IS ALWAYS GODFATHER (omg wtf?!)

haha, my submission

Forza Motorsport 5: Cloudy with a chance of driveatar

Forza Motorsport 5 |OT| Please press download to continue ;)

Just cannot understand MS have not found a better way to deal with owners of existing wheels already out on the market :(

Now I admit that these got a chuckle out of me, but I do want something at least partly serious. I don't want it to seem like we are mocking the franchise at all.

Its totally ok to make a little harmless dig. Lots of titles do it here.

Where Prague is Driven is almost too good not to use.

Looks like the same lighting and skybox to me? The shadow on the pile of tires is the same and you can see the blue sky in the top right-hand corner of the second pic. Difference in brightness might be down to the HDR?

This cloud photo looks the same, too, albeit from different angles and with different brightness:

Hmm, fair point and it is my favorite one so far. But we have some time still and I might actually create a little poll for people to vote on.

One of the TopGear track photos shows spectators in the stands, the other shows empty stands. I'd be surprised if that's a photo mode option. My guess is that the dev was able to set up the features differently for the shot, which may explain the lighting.

Its almosttt heereee guyss!!!! I still can't believe we only have one direct feed video...

And oh man, they managed to somehow open up the clouds a bit to include Dat Sun in overcast weather. =P

nah, lets keep the fun rolling.
anyways, we will need MANY DIRECT FEED VIDEOS before choosing an appropriate title, so there's still plenty of time.

yeah, I wrote this a little above:
eso probably means the pics 1,2, where there is visible sun in 1 but not in 2, pov being same-ish.
IF its that, what he didnt see is that the lens flare in both pics seems to come from the same-ish direction.

Without putting too fine a point on it, who has claim to that one? That was part of my original post for this thread, and I'd been sitting on it for OT for a while...

How can it look the same to you ?

It's not, and it's not a matter of brightness or hdr.
You have direct sunlight in the first pic, and diffuse light in the cloudy pic.
completely different palette too. Completely diff. lighting conditions.

Yes, P3tran, sun is in the same position, just like in FM4's TGTT. Alternate TOD there was actually alternate weather

Open wheel, next gen feel, orange peel.

This one is great.

Helios, one serious question about the new wheels for the guys in physics implementation department, let us forget the Fanatec compatibility for a moment: I have noticed that both wheels have the visible option to choose the rotation from 270 to 900 degrees. I wonder few things regarding wheels as such:

- will those two steps (270-900) be the only steps or will there be in-between steps (340-550-700..),
- will those two steps be supported from in-game (to have the game provide adjustible linearity dependable of the 270-900 setting on the wheels),
- will players be able to use controller and wheel simultaniously in order to have access to functionalities such as Livery Editor, Photomode and Autovista without switching the peripherals on-the-fly during session,
- if not, and I will only comment on this, not an acutal question - I hope that issue with calibration of linearity when wheel is reconnected have been solved for the nextgen,
- and finally, will there be separate leaderboards depending of simulation mode choosen (for instance, in FM4 both Normal and Simulation mode users were lumped toghether and there was no ttue incentive for anyone to use Simulation mode competitively)?

Thank you in advance for any of the above.

yeah, at the very least put a filtering option on the leaderboards.

1st pic is unedited cloudy
2nd pic is cloudy, edited to match partially covered lighting
3rd pic is partially covered

i don't know

clouds are the same, yes, but they are in a slightly different position, compared to the hill, for example.
Either the hill is actually separated from the skybox or, like i suspect, they did use the same picture of the clouds and edited to give it the cloudy and overcast look.

Lighting and palette are very different, though so either the pics were heavily post processed (the bright halo around the trees in the partially covered pic might suggest a heavy use of 'clarity') or i still think its different lighting conditions.

They looked very similar in FM4 too

Either way, it looks great and considerably improved over FM4 rendition.

But...why not replay footage of a hot lap ;(

As I said, the difference in lighting is probably down to the sun being in the first one which is pushing the exposure lower in the HDR implementation. Look at the shadows, they're in exactly the same direction.

That's just angle and fov playing tricks on you. Also probably some parallax trickery.

that doesn't mean much.

First, the sun IS in the same position. Same happened in FM4 TGTT; same time, slightly different weather.

Second: in FM4 shadows are ALWAYS exactly the same, be it dawn, midday, dusk. T10 didn't bake different shadows for different TOD, so you often get shadows that don't match sun position.

Difference in lighting is quite significant; look at the grass, the road, the hangar. That's not a difference you can obtain within ingame photomode, unless it received a complete overhaul.

Either way, still far from

:p
