Indy looks so much better, especially the road texture ! And the sound, the sound !! I loved hearing the gear change in the Atom video !
Only downside I saw were the missing shadow near the end of the Atom video while in cockpit view and the backfire effect which looks really cheap, especially after seeing the P1 backfire close-up in E3 trailer so many times...

People talking about dull tracks... Yeah i feel the same. Still no dragons and knights. It sucks that t10 just wont put them into the game. Would be amazing to see them fighting on the side of the track while you take photos of the s2000 to show its wrong proportions.

Well, to be fair, Turn10 did have a ruin in one of the sidewinder tracks, it might have been a castle, and there's the massive castle at the Nordschleife.
But seriously, tracks are tracks, they are either visually appealing or not. Silverstone, being a converted airfield in the middle of Northamptonshire, is not going to set the world on fire, but to me it looks great in all its laser scanned, grey, goodness. Great texture on the tarmac at Indy as well.
The sounds are great, as are the graphics, apart from the lack of shadow underneath the Atom's front wheel in cockpit view.
p.s. Can any insiders tell me why T10 can't/won't put manufacturing logos on the tyres in Forza?
It's disconcerting enough on road cars, but on open wheelers it looks downright wrong, like a supermodel without eyebrows or something.
I'm guessing it's still planned for today? We were promised it this week.
Unless BIDNOT's hint about a delay was correct?

That would be strange, and a weird line for T10 to draw in the sand. Especially after their partnership with Pirelli in FM4 ( although in good old fashioned T10 logic, the Pirelli logo was one you had to make yourself, go figure.)
Perhaps we'll be able to paint the tyre's sidewalls ourselves, solving the problem. We'd finally be able to have logo's or whitewalls. I can't see the obvious technical reason this shouldn't be the case.

I'm not an insider and not an expert on the subject. In the broad sense, I believe any use of a company image or logo in a consumer product not made by the same company brings with it limitations and expenses based on licensing. If Turn10 wanted to have branded tires in Forza(Pirelli, Goodyear, Bridgestone, etc.), there would be fees involved. Instead, they have in-house Forza branded tires.

Precisely. It's not as if the painters haven't been asking to be able to paint on the windows and the headlights, so adding the tyres wouldn't be a biggy, no? I don't think there is a technical reason why we can't paint on 'rubber' shaders, but I'm probably wrong.
As for licensing, it would be covered under UGC and fair use. After all this time, one would assume the legal arguments re copy-write and trademarks are pretty set in stone. Although the monetization of the fredits system though the thrice damned token system could conceivably be problematic.

Agreed. How come it's been around in other driving games for years? It's certainly not a technical limitation. I always thought it was because Pirelli would object to their data being used but other manufacturer's logos being on the tyres.
Their player is shit. At least it is via Firefox. Not tried Chrome.
i dont know if my location plays any role, but their player is completely unwatchable. always stutters and shit.
hopefully them videos will be put in that ms server with 1080/60 to download.
