Forza 5 Showroom | New cars and details for Forza 5, ongoing reveals

I am still going to grab this game eventually, but I am quite surprised at the information that has been recently released. I guess I understand why they were waiting so long to tell us this information, because you know they can't be happy with this either.

The number of cars I am not too bothered by. I am one of those suckers who always buys all the DLC, so the 200 cars is not that terrible.

And there are some amazing new tracks, but I just cannot fathom how they think 14 is nearly enough. Or how they can be okay with shipping the game WITHOUT Nurburgring. I mean, Jesus, that is like the most famous track in the world. I will also really miss Kaido, as those were my two favorite tracks to do solo runs on.

The game will look gorgeous and I am sure the physics will be great. But I just can't help but be disappointed at what the game could have been.

That makes no sense in the context of the quote, unless they got the paraphrase really wrong, but the number is reasonable:

Bernese Alps - 6
Catalunya - 3
Spa - 1
Indianapolis - 2
Le Mans - 3
Laguna Seca - 1
Mount Panorama - 1
Road Atlanta - 2
Sebring - 3
Silverstone - 3
Top Gear test track - 4 + drag
Yas Marina - 4 + drag (there's also a 'handling circuit', but it's tiny)

So that's 33 and two drag strips.

Test Track Airfield - ?? + drag
Prague - ??

So, minimum 35 and three drag strips. (well 37, forgot about the guaranteed reverse layouts for the two unknowns).

You forgot different length of drag strips, those counts as individual ribbon. ;)

Looks like those people holding out for an alternative to the ridiculously priced Thrustmaster are going to have to wait even longer...

Xbox One Force Feedback Racing Wheel will not be released before Christmas this year, it has been revealed.

Originally scheduled for this holiday season, a MadCatz representative told Digital Spy that it will be likely released "soon after" the festive period.

Nice.

By the way, Zorbsie is going to take over the Forza 5 OT. I just don't really have the time needed to put into it and he basically did most of the Horizon OT anyway.

So send all your awesome OT name ideas to him!

I can't help but feel the Ring mustn't be finished. If it was ready it would either be in the game or be advertised as some launch DLC.

I feel like i'm watching Jeff Bridges in Iron Man 1.

Edit: End of the video says they're going to be at COTA next week too. Pls be included in the game.

This is sad on so many levels.

I joined the Forza community in 2009 with the release of Forza 3. It quickly became my favorite racing game to date and was one of two games (the other being Arkham Asylum) that rekindled my interest in gaming.

I found myself playing Forza 3 two years after it's release. Rarely had I done that with any game, especially a racing title. Forza 4 solidified the series' status as my favorite franchise. I drooled over every screen, giggled about the Top Gear licensing and spent hours playing and snapping photos.

At that point, getting an XBOX One was a no-brainer. I couldn't miss out on future Forzas. Then came word of Microsoft's online policies before E3. The arrogance from Matrick and other executives during E3. We learned the console was less powerful than the PS4 yet $100 more expensive.

I made the decision to get a PS4 my first Sony system since owning a PS2 (breifly) in 2005. But still, Forza kept tempting me. Until this week I was on the verge of spending more money just for Forza 5. I love this franchise that much. But this week has been a big disappointment.

Losing so much content is inexcusable to me. Losing hundreds of cars, which already look fantastic in 4, is a head scratcher. And watching the track list get butchered - especially when selection has always been one of the series' weaker spots - is inexcusable. No real-time lighting. No night racing. No weather. And yet content is slashed in half.

Forza 5 looks great and I am sure it plays fantastically. But content wise, it's half of what Forza fans expect at a much steeper price. For me, it's a microcosm of the entire XBOX One rollout.

High hopes followed by bitter disappointment.

I'm out until Forza 6.

MS/Turn 10, it isn't too late. You can still save this. Include all DLC cars and add some tracks that are hidden away for a rainy day back into the initial game.

Do it, before it's too late. Time is running out...

People are dropping like flies lol..

Minus myself in that one.

I expected 200 cars...and thought 300 was pushing it to make launch while rebuilding the entire series from the ground up. I even stated so on the official forums and maybe here at least once.

The only part I don't like is Day 1 content not being free. I saw the couple to only a few hundred cars coming from a mile away...I guess that's why it's not as "sad/disappointing" to me.

Charging for any cars or tracks in the first few months is crappy though.

I was going to wait on the XB1/PS4 anyway since I am rarely in a hurry to get the newest console. We had been debating on which we wanted to get first and we had decided to go with the XB1 because of Forza. Now I think we might just grab the PS4 first and then get the Xbox/Forza when more tracks and cars are available.

I can't help but be disappointed. I know it is a launch game and I know they usually have be a bit sparse while they figure out the system, but I just thought they could do better than this.

A lot of bitterness and resentment. Luckily I don't have nearly as much attachment to Forza as I do GT.

I'd be the same way. The cars is one thing, but the tracks is a whole 'nother story. Not having variety in racing settings is huge. I played GTR 2 for years, but having rain as an option really changed things up. Only 14 static tracks with those variations won't be much.

people with brains will buy goty version with all overpriced dlc included
I do that for all of my games now... except GT lol... then again the DLC was like 7 bucks because 2.0 was free.

So...
Who has cancelled their pre-order?
Who will definitely not buy?

I will still definitely buy it, I mean, it IS still Forza. I am a huge car whore/gear head so I buy pretty much every automotive based video game and movie that comes out. Just think I might be getting it later rather than sooner.

Thankfully GT6 is coming out soon, so that will help the wait.

or people will brains will have the money to just buy the game on day one and not care about all this mess and be happy playing the game for months before the GOTY is hits shelves.

And they will even use they own money to buy DLC.

i have the money, i choose not to get ripped off

I am intelligent. I have enough money. I will buy it. Because I'm an intelligent but weak man that likes shiny things. I am part of the problem.
