I'll be down for playing some games. While ill probably not have a ton of time-- it'll probably be crunch mode for me at work-- this game is getting me excited about racing games again. The driveatars, if they work even somewhat as expected, would give me some hope about the Xbox team's cloud aspirations.
The dlc is disappointing, and seems odd since they mentioned the day 1 patch to basically complete the game. If you have to have a patch day one just to play the game, then day one dlc should be included.
I hope they couple dlc updates with free updates, though I hold no expectation that they do so. It would be a sign of good faith by turn10 to reward the day1 buyers and somewhat ameliorate the dearth of content.
Dynamic driving may make up for the small, static cars included in the package--but I would not count on the driveatar dramatically altering ones game experience if I were turn10.

Oh shoot. I had completely forgotten the number of environments there. I was in recovery from knee surgery when I was playing that game. It was basically all I had to do, and it never felt short on content. I never did finish buying all the German cars for that achievement.

compare pcars g25 to f4 joystick, physics wise.

thats stupid though, i can tell you at its current state i prefer the physics of cars to GT5 but not by much, cars has a long way to (go although some cars are better than others obviously its unfinished) to match rfactor or assetto corsa, the latter being the best ive ever tried. but i dont think cars aims to beat those hardcore sims, cars is more like forza/gt, a semi sim.

Nope, just the one preorder, well and truly cancelled with no prospect of reinstatement. The situation can be reviewed once pCARS hits next gen consoles this time next year and the FM5 GOTY is out for £19.99.
Yeah will be hard to stay on the console if pcars doesnt hold up to other versions and we still wont have proper wheels.

Honestly I had about 6 go to tracks in F4, sadly Road America was my #1. But I love Bathurst in other games so it softens the blow a bit.

The Drivatar concept sounds great, and I hope it delivers. Even if it all it does is to stop the AI breaking on the 'effin apexes, that would be a huge success as far as I'm concerned.
In fact, thinking on it, I don't want the drivatar to be too realistic, because if they aped the style of some of the people on my friends list, I'd either wreck after the first corner, or be left so far behind I'd DNF. One particular friend could do both.

Well...sort of.
It had a Nurburgring, not the Nurburgring.
Maybe there's a faint larger second one that runs around the outside like a double rainbow.
That's the one they modelled perfectly.
Ok just got back from playing I'm guessing the Laguna Seca build at a media event in Toronto. Impulse triggers feel great, but overall the one pad feels a bit.. flimsy perhaps, I need more time with it definately. Tire flex is back in a big way, I was doing donuts in a Ferrari and the back tires were warping all over the place. Sound from what I could hear in the loud room was INSANE, though I'd wait to hear it on a nice system first. Trackside detail up close was lacking unfortunately but whatever, I care more about how the game feels.
There definitely wasn't enough AA going on. I'm uploading a video now of another player racing around in the 300SL in cockpit mode, I'll update this post when it's done.

Shared the news in Good, Bad and Ugly form to the biggest Forza fan I know (and my car/motorsport Yoda) and this was what I just got back:
For the record, the Good was that smokin' hot trailer single teardrop and sniffle of awesome, the Bad was the $50 Car Pass, and the Ugly was the track selection.
Love them fat tires.
Why, every time I see an open wheel car, do I want the person to floor it as they come out of curve and throw the car into the wall in the process?
I watched that car just wanting the person/AI to have a brain fart that sends them into the wall at 120mph.

Don't think so, it'd be cool if we can move in more than one axis using kinect, visibility is fucking awful in modern F1 game's cockpit.

In both F1:2013 and GT5, I have to use the view that's just above the drivers head. Because I find cockpit view is nearly impossible to use.
