Am I weird for saying Playground should not do Forza games only? Or maybe I should say make Forza offshoot games that are very different to Motorsport AND their previous games? Like Forza Baja, or Forza Offroad? I know that does not fit the Forza genes (cars....) but I somehow want that :)

You're only crazy if that means no more open world games with Forza-like physics. ;p

Horizon has been a dream since Test Drive Unlimited hit the scene.

Merry Christmas to all!

I been following the Forza Horizon sales and the game went from 700k users to 850k during Christmas, im happy for that, now its very likely that will reach atleast 1 million, who knows maybe even 1.2 in a few months since keeps selling in UK and some other countries of Europe.

Forza 4 now have 3.6 millions users (they did almost 3millions before bundles), so i guess the standalone sales are around 3 o 3.2 millions, not bad at all. I hope they end up with more than 4 millions.

An educated guess is that we are close to securing a Forza Horizon 2.

I'd kill for a game that's just a *tad* more arcadey, in real-world locations but focuses more on the closed street racing that PGR provided, rather than the cartoon bro-racing that NFS now does or closer-to-sim that Forza Motorsport does. And it needs to have a shitload of variety, which I just couldn't find with Horizon (was too flat for the most part, not enough city racing).

Basically, Horizon, but with street circuits from around the world. I have fond memories of zooming around Quebec City with dat elevation change and New York across that bridge in the snow, can't do that in Colorado (at least, the Colorado we've been given).

Finally got all golds and won the championship. The key is just finding the right car for yourself in each class. Its so odd that all the cars they give you in the pack kinda suck.

Edit: I ordered my racing seat at the worst possible time. It should have been here today, but because UPS and their "Business Day" schedule wont get here till next Thursday :(

So out of curiosity, what cars did you use?

I bought all the cars that came with the pack and did all the rally mods to them. I've only played the first couple of rallys so far though with not much success. :/

Love this game.

There is something that has me confused/upset. I am currently on my purple wrist band and was looking through the achievements and noticed the loyalty one. I didn't know this existed. I had a Forza 3 save on another hard drive so I went to best buy a bought a hard drive transfer cable and moved all my data to the hard drive I'm playing on now, I was hoping to recieve the loyalty cars, but haven't gotten anything yet?

Is this a common occurrence? Did I need to have the save file on the hard drive before I started the game? Am I screwed, will I not get the loyalty cars?

Would love to get the achievement plus cars, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

i'll echo the what cars question. i've been using the rally cars in the pack exclusively to beat it and do some rivals racing - the 05 scooby and 92 escort specifically. the only cras i used that werent from the rally pack were for S (rs200) and r3 (skyline) races.

by the way, this rally pack may finally get me to move to M + C. really kind of stupid to race a rival only to see them "magically" get half a second on you the instant the race starts. also, the stratos looks to be a beast of a B class rally car - if you can keep it straight!

I imagine MS is probably concerned about diluting the brand if they did that. I think the best thing would be another Horizon game but with more varying disciplines, no reason they couldn't do more of an offroad focus next time.

I've just checked my stats and I've done all of the street races and over 75% of the festival races. I only got the game on Christmas Day :'( Totally a result of me playing it like a nutter and not a lack of content, though!

Definitely going to invest in the Rally DLC. What sort of events are in it? If it's not all solo timed stuff I'll be happy with it. I like that for a while but it gets a bit dull just doing glorified time trials. I like my Sega Rally-esque rally too where you're having an actual race.

its all p2p and solo. at least the "campaign" rally. of course there is also ghost only multiplayer and rivals.

I've got to wonder if there's something about the Rally stuff that makes it impossible to free roam? Some technical issues?

The more I play it the more I'd love an option to roam around in the Rally version of the full Horizon map, without the event dressing like barriers and the like.

Its really weird and retroactively less satisfying to go back to the normal single player off-roading.

Hmm.. I'm thinking of either getting Forza Horizon or NFS: Most Wanted as I plan getting back to a Gold account for the first time in years. What kind of Kinect support does this game have? Is it "just" turning the wheel with your hands? And is the free-roam designed so that I drive around freely and pick events?

I agree, first thing I did was check single play to see if there was new roads.

Then the only 5 rally cars which exist instead of allowing you to use anything.

Then no smartglass intergration.

Design wise this expansion is hasty.

I'm pretty sure you can use anything. By default the Rally events only show you the cars in your garage that have Rally upgrades. But you can take any of your cars to the garage and give them rally suspension, transmission and tires and then use them in the events.

But you can only buy cars in the expansion from that list no? If I can get a rally e30 then fuck yeah!

Pretty sure it's only voice commands with Kinect.

As far as Horizon vs. NFS, I think Horizon is better by a long shot. I got them both and thought NFS would be better because review scores were better, but for me there's no comparison. I already traded NFS back in.

They're really two very different games. NFS is more about arcade action with crashes every five seconds. Horizon is about feeling like you're actually driving cars in a beautiful place.

For me, it's no contest. Horizon hands down.

Sounds like he doesnt get gravel. Imagine him playing RBR.

I thought Horizon Rally to be very controllable with good feedback with the wheel, no complaints. He then goes on to say he would rather be playing WRC 3 which has one of the least communicative implementations of force feedback.

He also complains about not losing time by bouncing off walls which is untrue and I have yet to be beaten by a wall bouncer.

He should just use normal steering if he isn't going to bother going for the proper steering lock when countersteering.

With simulation steering you have to get the angle spot on to correct the slide and that is very hard. With normal steering you can play just like in the video and the game assist you by applying the correct angle even if you play like in the video.

Seriously... I got this game from my g/f for Christmas. Sat down to play it today, saw my car on the back (I own 370Z) and thought "I'll get that in the game!" ... Nope, it's a bullshit preorder exclusive. I fucking hate this trend.

No shit. No doubt it'll be available to buy in a month or two, but until then you have to wait. If it's any consolation, I haven't been able to drive it not because I didn't preorder, but because I didn't preorder from the right place.

Are there any 'hatchback' body-style cars that aren't FWD? The Ford Cossie is a 'sports car' and the 595 Essesse is 'economy'.

Have had a ball hooning around in a '71 Skyline, as well as the 429 Boss done up to GAF-Am spec.

This game does the retailer exclusive preorder shit too. So even if you did preorder, you still don't get all the cars. I think Gamestop had a powerup rewards member exclusive car on top of that.
