Forza Motorsport 4 - The Floodgates Have Opened...

Serious? Seems like a slight overreaction... it's still gonna be a decent game...

Fuck no I'm not serious!

I'd rather have a new game in 2 years with these seriously minor inconsistencies, than wait more years. I did the "wait 5 years" thing, and yeah, we know how that turned out ... great game but with major (FPS/screentear) faults.

So while I would love perfection, I understand they can't change everything. I mean they have improved a shitload of stuff.

LOL@ Clearnance ... that's funny.

Clearnance! To the proofreadingmobile, Batman!
I think displaying the wrong units in the EU version is worse.

But hey ...

Seriously tempted by the CSR wheel, but with pedals and shifters it's over £400 ($625)... There's no way my girlfriend would ever speak to me again.

If she's an 8.5/10 or above, don't get the wheel. Otherwise, there's plenty of fish out there...

Well. In a lot of cases, imperial units are a-ok to use in the EU as well, such as measurements for rims, exhausts etc. And the hummer specsheet is most likely going to be in imperial, so that's what they put in there. And since they didn't localise the text for the AV facts and stats, I doubt they would bother making the units interchangeable, even though Forza has a setting for Metric/Imperial when it comes to speedo reading and HP/torque figures and whatnot. Accurate measurements in imperial units are not a worse faux-pas than typos in text, I'd say.

anybody has an idea of how the forza 4 sun visor for the real car looks like?

She got me the MS wheel but I sold it once I got bored of Forza3 for almost double the amount she paid so no regrets.

I'll probably be more annoyed than her actually since the they use the same values for euro and dollar. So if I convert the euro price it's about £415, but the dollar conversion it's about £295. Maybe I've miscalculated...

Don't be annoyed, that's just the payback from Europe. They want you to know how they feel, every time some new hardware comes out.

It would be nice if T10 addressed the modelling complaints..

I see a lot of variance in FM3, looking at the interior shading and headlights alone seems to show patterns between various cars, as if some companies do headlights/interiors differently..

And I think T10 do some modelling, the Bugatti Veyron video was T10 staff?

Speaking of art-cars, I hope the racing bodykit for the M1 is available this time around. So much better looking than in road trim.

My God.

Okay, now I am officially angry at myself for being lazy to participate.

You should have!

It's funny, but my girl and I have been searching for a rug for our living room and it's amazing how 2 or 3 of those cars had a similar design to the rugs.

Get the Wheel with standard porsche pedals for now, then when those break in a few months you should be able to get away with CSR pedals, that'll knock a couple hundred off for now.

I considered a few options, I'll probably just leave the shifters for a month. £350 seems much more reasonable for some reason.

Holy fuck! That has to be the longest draw distance ever seen in a videogame, ever. You can see all the way from Spain to the fucking Swiss Alps!

Incredible!
Haha! I was going to reply "bu bu but the Alps aren't close to Spain". Then I LOLed

It thought it looked really good, vid was a bit dark but the details in-cockpit looked good. So did the track and trackside details for that matter.

Yeah, regarding the presence of this game. Where is the marketing Microsoft? My store has 4 reservations on it. FOUR. They've sent no marketing to display and their site just spits out the "It's Kinect enabled for the HARDCORE!"

Turn Ten, do something about this. =(
Not many people like hardcore racing games, and most that do are probably PS3 owners because the fancy steering wheels that they use for PC games also work on that platform.

The average Xbot doesn't give a rip about Forza.

Yeah, your explanation does carry some weight and it definitely applies to me. I'm a racing nut and whenever I look at Forza I want to play it. I'd be more than happy to buy a 360 to play F4 and the other exclusives, but I want to use the wheel I use on PC and PS3... :( I can't justify buying one more wheel and playing with the controller would suck in comparison.

...and that's a fucking shame as T10's latest creation looks really, really really good and I want to give them my money! Dat car selection! Custom liveries? Good cockpits? Track selection? Where do I sign up? :p

From what I've seen of F4 T10 has really stepped up their game and I hope they sell a record breaking amount of games.

Sorry but really disappointed in the modelling of the escort cosworth. Even though they got the front wrong, I just saw the rear view and they have messed up the rear boot spoiler, it's to big.
I know these seem like small details but when you are setting yourself up as the premier racing sim you don't mess around with the models as sim racers are quite anal and know these cars inside and out.
Especially when the mistakes are carried over to each sequel, it's poor showing.
How can you mess with the escort cosworth and ferrari F40, 2 of the most iconic cars ever made!!!!

they'd get more preorders by MARKETING the damn game, give it a third the budget of halo or gears and it'll sell to everyone. Hell my friends who have no interest are going to buy f4 due to the fact I've been sending everyone screens each time new ones come out.

The thing with FM4 is that it hasn't got a 'water cooler' selling point besides AV.
I can guarantee that if they announced..

'We have weather!
We have night!
We have Spa!
We have Bathurst!
We have an unrivaled damage model!
or
We have...... Porsche'.....etc.....they would've have released a shitload of videos showcasing either of these features boastfully, there would be a massive push to hammer it home, people would go nuts and the world would begin it's road to destruction...

"You can go in at a sub six inch level"....is what we get instead....

Hehe. Damn, the doods who model the rims take a lot of shortcuts by reusing the front rims for the rears even in the cases where they are clearly asymmetrical on the real cars, such as this Zonda R, the F50, the Enzo and so forth.

GT 5 Zonda R for comparison

I guess they didnt notice

Found the comparison interesting, i would have never noticed it by myself. You guys have really good eyes/knowledge of cars...

I'm afraid that's true.

How many cars are in the game? Wouldn't that be a nice bullet point?

That's probably why the biggest bullet point in the marketing is "KINECT enabled" :/

Looks like T10 needs a new QA manager, or at least a QA person who is passionate about cars.

As far as wheels,

I've only used the controller all these years but im lookin for a wheel. I found a microsoft one for 50 bucks, should I jump on it?

Woahwoahwoahwoahwoah, this is serious shit. Where did you see the pic of the Cossie? Are we sure it didn't have some daft aftermarket kit on it or something?

Edit: Found it. It's not great but it's not going to smack me in the face every time I look at the car like the Zonda wheels will. I'm more worried about the fact that on the picture I looked at, the car looked like it was wearing 15's on the back and 16's on the front. Hopefully just a perspective issue.
