Gears of War 4 coming free with Nvidia 1070 & 1080s through Oct 30

when i bought my 1070 from jet, it was fulfilled by newegg. if thats the case with you, the order # for your jet order should be the same order # on newegg.
 
I did the chat with customer service through NewEgg, but that led me nowhere. It wasn't even a yes or no, it was a "uhhhh I don't see this offer sorz".

I've bought all my GPUs late and never received a free game. I guess it's region specific, but this specific offer seem to be available here though.

Too bad I bought my 1080 2 weeks ago.
 
Ordered an EVGA 1080FTW on the 15th from Newegg that was delivered today. Apparently they can't honor the GoW4 promotion because I received a promotional email code for 1,000 Paragon coins and some other Paragon shit I have no interest in. Basically I'm looking at returning my unopened card and ordering a new one to take advantage of this. Am out of town so am not missing out on using the card between now and the weekend...
 
I bought a 1080 from Newegg back in June, way before this promotion started, but I decided to ask anyway and see what happens. The service rep in the chat room was really nice and he said unfortunately he wouldn't be able to honor the promo but he gave me a $20 gift card instead. It was really nice of him to do that, he didn't have to and I wasn't expecting it at all. I'm giving him a great feedback for that.
 
Well, I was gonna get Gears 4 day one but i might skip it for a couple of weeks and save up for a 1070 since I plan on getting that as well.

EDIT: Actually a 1060 + Gears 4 at full price would be cheaper and I wouldn't need a new power supply so I'll probably still get Gears 4 at launch and get a 1060 on a separate occasion.
 
Guys, always hold off buying a card if you want free games. This happens pretty much every year. Hell, a few more months a better deal might even show up.

Still, nothing will ever top the Witcher 3, Batman: AC, MGSV combo even if you do wait. Holy shit that was good.
 
I'm trying to find where to contact Amazon at on their site. Feel like I'm going in circles.

Found it! I sent them an email. Time to see if the bajillion dollars I've spent on them and sucking up to them big time in my contact email pays off! I purchased my GTX 1070 on August 18th.
 
Got a code from Newegg. Redeemed via the Nvidia site, which looks like it registered to the same email address as what is tied to my Microsoft account... but now what? I don't see it in my Xbox purchases or anything... Do I just need to wait?
 
Newegg phone support told me to take a hike. Lady was very rude. Told me I "Got my free game it is called Paragon 1000 coins." Neat.

Guess I'll try their chat support soon, but it appears to not be working for me right now. :(

Yeah go to the gears of war 4 page and it will tell you that you own it if you try to buy

Talk to somebody else. Mention that nvidia and your card make told you to redeem it through newegg.

Me too, pretty much. Bought a 1070 last week, it's promo eligible, and was told that they were recently informed to not give anyone the promo unless they purchased in the promo period.

Tried 4 other times + 2 times on chat. Every single one of them told me to take a hike.

edit: Here's neweggs official stance now:

I had both chat people copy and paste that line to me and another person read it verbatim on the phone.
 
Tried newegg chat support. I was very nice all the way through obviously. No dice :( Was hopin to snag a $20 gift card like some other lucky poster. Nope.

Here's to cheap keys on ebay.

True facts there, doesn't make it any less of a bummer, especially for folks like myself and a few others who bought the card merely days ago.

And nobody bought a 1070 or 1080 for Paragon coins. That was one of the worst game tie in promotions Nvidia has done in years, if not ever.

I guess if someone just bought. I bought mine at the end of July. Also NVIDIA has to pay out for that class action. $30 per GTX 970 won't be cheap if a significant number of owners cash in.
 
Bought a 1070 on the 4th of August from Amazon and tried turning on the charm over the live chat.

Got told to hit bricks.

Oh well.
 
heard back from nvidia store..

They told me it only applies to 1070 and 1080 purchases (and notebook purchases that include those gpus).. looks like Titan X owners are out in the cold this time.
 
I'm really surprised so few had luck with Amazon.

I purchased mine July 31st, and still got the free game. I must have slipped through the cracks before they got a lot of requests or something.
 
I bought my 1070 July 29th. Tried to get a code on chat yesterday and they shut me down.

Then they emailed me hours later and told me to purchase the game on amazon and they will refund the purchase.

YMMV. I'm a prime member and spend quite a bit on amazon, not sure if that matters.

E-mail is what worked for me too. I would typically always use chat if I could, but I was in a very, very long conference meeting and I wanted to jump on the issue sooner rather than later. Seems like e-mail might be the better way to go.

I'm also a prime user. I was also very nice through the whole thing. So... Who knows?
