Gears of War 4 coming free with Nvidia 1070 & 1080s through Oct 30

I bought mine in June and I just tried to get a code from Newegg, All they gave me was a $10 gift card for the inconvenience. Better than nothing, I suppose.

Once you redeem the code on the GeForce website it'll ask you to link your Microsoft account. That's the important step as that's when they'll attach the game to your account.
 
Just wanted to post an update.

Got a response from Nvidia. They told me to kick rocks.

They did mention they appreciated me buying a Titan X and being a loyal customer for over 11 years who spent thousands of dollars on their hardware over the years, but apparently a game code which likely costs them a small fraction of retail price is too much to give in return.

Oh well. It was worth a shot. I'll just keep my eye out on the BST thread.
 
Managed to grab one real cheap that I'll share with a friend: he has a XBO and I have a PC. So it's the half of that real cheap price. That's the way MS has managed to make me play something on their W10 platform.

The problem with the Xbox Play Anywhere games is that you cannot be signed into the same game on both an Xbox One console and a Windows 10 PC at the same time, right? Or is only account related? (Like with the PS4 and the primary accounts)

You can download it with one account and play it on a another. So you can play simultaneously, even on multiple Windows 10 PCs

It should work as long as I set up my account as primary on his Xbox One and once the game is installed he plays with his own account.

All that you need to do is redeem the code onto the Nvidia website and they will ask you to log into your Microsoft account. Once you do that and redeem the account. The game automatically gets put onto your account. It's a Play Anywhere game so you get both an Xbox One and W10 copy of the game.
 
Redeemed the code on nvidias site. Was told a confirmation e-mail would be sent to my microsoft account e-mail. This has not happened and the game does not appear on my "bought" Xbox games.

Is this normal, when should I expect confirmation and how will it be confirmed?

It is normal. Open the Windows 10 store and search for Gears of War 4.

Check you library on Xbox. You didn't technically buy it so it doesn't show under purchases

Check under downloads. For me it immediately downloaded the 100MB preload thing.

I went for this one too and he sent me a messsage saying the codes will be sent out tomorrow due to high demand for the codes.

Use xbox account on PC and make another account on your xbox to play it on. If it's not your home xbox because of game sharing, just make sure you are signed in first and then use a different account to play.
