I ain't coping with shit. Tsushima really did nothing for me. You can't even skip the fucking cutscenes. And I'm tired of the samurai surge in games, especially played out revenge tales, on top of all of the politics involved with this one.

And I got a backlog of much better stuff to play. Fuck dude I haven't even really touched Expedition yet :messenger_relieved:

"I ain't coping with shit"

Proceeds to cope.

Care to explain? I mean it wasn't me saying its overhyped without some good points. So show me how its generic?
I didn't say generic. I said it's not industry changing in it genre

But if you want specifics, almost everything about its battle system with the dodge, counterattacks, parries, action prompts to pull off attacks, use of items to augment attacks and effects in battle, puzzle mechanics in boss fights. All of that stuff is found in Paper Mario 1/2 and Mario and Luigi 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

You can't call something industry changing in its genre when games in that genre literally did all of that stuff already.

The annoying thing about E33 fans is they like to pretend that game invented its battle system or that it pushes the genre in ways it hasn't been before. Neither of those things are true. It can be a great game but also be an iterative game at the same time, and that's okay. And it IS a great game and it IS iterative.

Having almost the same score as KCD2 (88) is a slap in the face of gamers.
Curiously, with that game as soon as i saw some reviewers i follow sometimes, i could tell the game was a masterpiece that would be remembered as one of the best games from it's decade.

Meanwhile with this game i'm seeing several people saying mentioning it's outdated open world and quests/events mechanics, similar to the first entry.

Not paying full price for this game so i won't have my own opinion soon, but i'm curious about the customers opinions after a month or so, the trend this gen for Sony has been better reviews from media and worse from buyers on the sequels, would be surprised if it wasn't the same on this case.

This is like saying botw isnt genere defining because the individual aspects were done before. Wtf.

I love how people saw all of the footage for the game and they trashed it, but now a bunch of strangers said the game is good and the people trashing it before are now posting things like, "Man, that footage didn't look good but now strangers gave it a 90 so I'm in!"
People are quick to forget Spiderman 2 was a 90 metacritic.

I want this game to be good, but will wait for it to be received in the wild before I jump in.

There are…. Forces at play, unfortunately, either this game

Do what you want. Your point was just stupid to shit on the best game of the year though. Leave it at that.
Not any more, bruh.

And thats okay. E33 is a great game, it doesnt need to win a meaningless award to justify its greatness. But if you base your identity around E33 being universally acclaimed as the savior of JRPGs and unanimously regarded as GotY, well I just feel bad for you.

For the record, I only made this post because you're annoying and I wanted to be an ass. I won't reply to this anymore because I don't want to further derail the thread.

Its still gonna win game of the year.

Like rdr 2 lost to gow despite having better reviews.

Meh, for as brilliant as the open world is, and the great story, to me, and I'm betting many others, the minute to minute gameplay is tedious as fuck.

And E33 is fucking awesome. Game of the generation for me. Lots of elements came together in way that was stronger than the sum of its parts.

Now, why are we talking about these again in a Ghost review thread?

What do you think is gonna win?
Goty clair Obscur exp 33 but best indie its between silksong and hades 2.

I just think new IPs that blew everyone away have a higher chance of winning over SAFE sequels.

The sequels that won in the last 10 years blew everything out the water in that year

(tlou2 and baldurs gate 3 tho i dont even consider bg3 a sequel since the ip has been dead for decades)

Only exception for me is the witcher 3 because Bloodborne exists in the same year which went on to win the old neogaf goty. Witcher 3 only on bc actual AMATEUR JOURNOLISTS were picked to make the choice so Bloodborne never had a chance.
Fact is Bloodborne shits on Witcher 3 from the highest Mountain!

I got over 900 h in it on ps5 so i am abit biased lol

Nice. Much better than I was expecting.

I was one of the OG haters, since the first game.

But that's mainly due to the unimpressive graphics and poor advertising.

Might give it a shot eventually, and this time there's no TLOU2 equivalent I'll be comparing it to. So I'm sure I'll like it more this time around

But this, Battlefield 6 AND ninja gaiden 4 all in the same month means this might just naturally come in 3rd place

Sucker Punch has a great track record of improving upon their original games when they make a sequel. If you bet on Yotei being worse than Tsushima, you made a bad bet. I'm pretty hyped now, especially after seeing that Digital Foundry review.

Give the sound team a raise!!

Sound is incredible.

So, how i see it. If the graphics need to just be a slight jump up to allow budget to be used on making none repetitive gameplay, then im all for it!

Really looking forward to playing this.

The sound part of the digital foundry video about GoY was fantastic man.

Glad to see the reviews saying the combat is good and an improvement over Tsushima. I liked Tsushima combat alot and all the trailers from Yotei made Yotei combat look worse. So if thats not the case thats a good thing. If the gamers opinions confirm that, i might buy it later when it comes to PC and has a good promo on it.

This is a surprise to me. Sounds like it is much better than what I thought.

Well done sucker punch, I still have far too much to play but will 100% pick this up down the line.

Wonder how many of you guys act in the same way against J.K Hogwarts Legacy.
that's because you seem to be stuck in thinking of this along the lines of politics/console wars

I bought Hogwarts Legacy at launch on both PS5 and Steam to support the game because that boycott was even dumber than this one
